just playin' around
Feeling a little burnt out at work today...so many little pieces and never enough information. This week's top list is courtesy of me finally noticing that I can show off 24 people and not just 16! ... well, that and the fact that Halloween is done and gone for another year (officially, according to the calendar anyway) In case ya can't figure out the categories: as always the first are people I actually know in real life. I've seen these people without any jpeg artifacts interfering my view. The next ten are people that do illustration in one form or another...mostly because I'm just dying writing html, javascript, perl, lingo, etc. I wanna see some pretty pictures, so I thought you might want to as well. The last are bands that I like. Nothing more, nothing less. Just some cool people makin' cool music =) Enjoy your weekend!

Another story up!
This time, the writer is Sam Costello. I did this story a few years ago, but now it finally gets to see the light of day...as much as any horror comic will ever see the light of day.
The title is "The Executioner is a Lonely Man" and it's the first comic up at Split Lip.
Wouldn't mind hearing what people think of it

quick notes
1: The latest web-comic (Saiko Chapter 5) that I worked on is live at: http://www.uggabugga.net/asj41/chapters/chapterssaiko.htm
2: In case you ever wonder about the order I put my friends in, the answer is very simple. The first few are people I've known for a very long time. The rest are people I've met online here at myspace, worked with on some comics, or have met at conventions. The biggest part of this is that while I do have two categories, Both Categories Lists are just in Alphabetical Order.
Now ya know

So I changed the top 16...get over it.
Like other folks, it amuses me to change things around from time to time. No reason, just wanna look at different faces for a while. I'll eventually change things again...doesn't mean I don't love...maybe it does (Insert laughter evil here)

Number of friends
Has anyone else noticed that if you count the number of pictures in your friends list that it doesn't come up to the number that it says should be there? Apparently I've got two invisible friends... Could have something to do with "Tom" (I deleted him straight away), but then who's the other?

Why is it...
Current mood: creative
that as soon as I start writing something to post here, I end up throwing it away? I have many thoughts for this blog either as I'm going to sleep or just using the john, but then I get here and it just ends up sounding soooo stupid when I finally see it as pixels. Ah well, whatcha gonna do? So my biggest news here on myspace is that I've finally broken into a second page of friendly folks! Okay, so some of 'em are run by third parties or are basically just fan sites, but I still feel loved. To all my new friends and especially to those folks who've taken the time to check through some of my insanity, THANK YOU!!! Anyway, just go buy my stuff!!! It's cute and and it's on a ton of different products! if ya don't wanna buy the stuff, then try the affiliate program at cafepress and if'n ya feel like it, link to my page and make us both some money

Influences
Category: Jobs, Work, Careers
Okay, before anyone gets a bigger head, I thought I'd explain a bit about what I find influential about those "heroic" people.
All of these people work at very different jobs/carreers for the most part, except for two.
Linda Bergkvist and Aly Fell are both amazing artists. Whenever I see that they have completed a new piece and post it online, I have to look...actually, I have to stare. This may change in time for me (I'm hardest to please when it comes to artists), but I hope they continue to do nothing but the top-notch work that I've seen in the past.
Warren Ellis, famous/infamous, for his comics work. He's written in the past that he writes stories that he thinks he'd want to read...fortunately for us, publishers think other folks will want to read 'em too. This isn't why I find him inspirational at all. I find him most inspirational when he posts something to either his website or forum that calls for people to break out of the old habits of being too scared to try something new. The things he says in these posts generally get me thinking in new directions. Oddly enough, directions that have nothing to do with what his entire post was about...go figure.
Mark Willis falls into the above category a bit too. He's telling folks about his experiences in the music industry, but it applies to all industries too. I never would've known it if I hadn't finally come here to myspace. 'Course I never knew the guy was literate either... (just keeping trying to keep your head from inflating too much, Mark ) If you are an aspiring musician, go read his blogs.
Noel St. John: I knew this guy was literate... Inspirational here, is what this guy does as part of his norm. Instead of sitting down at the end of the day and turning on the tube, chances are he's trying something new...if he's not trying something new, he's doing something with what he already knows...and he makes helluva paper-weight outta wood to keep wandering cigarette lighters in too.
But all this is subject to change at any time...next time it's likely to be the guys' wives instead. They're pretty damn remarkable people...probably more so for putting up with these guys. With the words of Jim Carrey at the end of "Bruce Almighty", "behind every great man is a woman rolling her eyes".
