Complaining the Blues
Current mood: frustrated

Complaining the Blues
Lately things have been a bit slow for me. At Downtown Diz CD sales are way down. And then you add all the rain. Can't work outside in the rain. That's what I hate about January & February. The club scene is no better. Unless you're a big name or someone who can manage fill a place, that's out. It's sometimes painful being told by EVERYBODY how "awesome" or "baddass " you are on guitar and yet can't even get more than 15 people to the club. My God even James Brown and guitar great Steve Vai told me I was great. (Yea that's right I'm name droppin.)
Anyway, I know once spring rolls around things will eventually pick up and I know I'll be alright. I always am . I just need to complain. What do you expect I sing the blues.

Downtown Diz (Disney) Stories 1
Current mood: content
Category: Music

Downtown Diz.
Wow, It's hard to believe. I've been at Downtown Disney for 6 now. It's The only reason I'm a full time musician. Whatta dream. Even though I don't get to travel and play out as much as I'd like, I guess inna away the world comes to me. I actually get to perform before hundreds of people daily. Maybe thousands. Alright Alright just under thousands. But It's defiantly more than thousands weekly. And I do get to meet lots of people from all over. Lot of Aussies, Canadians, Brazilians, Europeans and plenty of folks from Seattle & Arizona too.
My biggest blessing come from the many positive comments I've received from from those I've meet. Many want me to come to there town and play. Quite a few have shares with me how my music got them through some rough times in there lives. I've had many young people say I inspired them to start learning to play guitar. I've even been told how my music has healed some people.
There's One story in particular. A gentleman approached my sales table during a break. He pointed to another gentleman in the crowd and explained how his friend lost his hearing in due to an injury he received in Vietnam. He explained, "my friend hasn't heard a thing since 1969 until he heard you playing". He thanked me for helping his buddy and bought a couple of my CDs. There's One memorable moment I had one evening last summer. A pretty large crown had formed around me. Guess I was rockin hard that night. Anyway, I noticed this old lady grooving in a wheelchair. I mean she was getting down. Next thing I knew she began to slowly work her way out of her wheelchair, stood straight up and got busy. I mean she was dancing! The way she was moving you'd of thought we were at the club. Let me put this way, she was rockin' so hard I was worried for her safety. Didn't want any cardiac issue to arise. But she was fine. After my short set she dropped back into her chair and was wheeled away by her family. Still moving her body.
The stories of my many encounters at Downtown Diz are numerous. Maybe I'll touch on them in later Blogs Until then. If you need a healing, some inspiration, of just a place to wind up or down,
visit me at my spot in Downtown Diz. Right Across from The House Of Blues. Where else?
Much Luv.
