3 Months from today....somethings coming....I can't quite say what yet, but it is coming......
It is raining today.... I have a sore throat.... I have to sing at an event at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center tomorrow with Sherrill and Maria, blah blah blah...
I need to get out and run, or go for a long walk, or something, but the weather stinks.
When the world gives you crap, grow roses!

A Ton Going On! Shameless Plug....
Current mood: working

So.... As life goes in sunny Florida... things are very good! Big news: I have contract in hand with an artist manager, which I need to get signed and off....
What does this mean:
I need to get my audition repertoire polished!
I need to break down and get my headshots redone!
I need to continue to work out and get into "Leading Man" shape.
I am finally at chapter 1 (after a long prelude) of my career!
Plan a possible recording project.
So....how am I going to do all of this stuff? I have begun a little summer-long fund raising project for myself on ebay. I currently have about 50 listings, some of which end tomorrow. I am not asking you to come bid on my stuff, but I did want you to know, that most of what I will be selling up here are books. Yes I do have some scores from my personal collection that have been collecting dust of repertoire that I don't/won't sing or I have multiple copies of the same score in my collection. There is a ton of other stuff that I am putting up, and I am also seeking donations of used books that I can also put up. I like to call it my SOMETHING FOR SOMETHING campaign. (I know, kinda goofy, but what else did you expect from me!)
my ebay id is: booksfrombryce if you want to check out the stuff I have up so-far (with about another 50-100 things I need to get up there this weekend!)
Bette Midler, WTF? Complete with Video
Category: Music
WTF? She sucks, she sings one song (Wing beneath my wings), poorly...and now she is taking over for Celine Dion in Vegas? Bette Midler did not belong on American Idol tonight. Bette Midler has no voice left. (that she had a voice to begin with is rather debateable) I just can't believe they let her perform tonight....and the Vegas thing... Replacing my least favorite singer 1A with my least favorite singer 1B just leaves me speachless.
It also left Jerry Springer speachless. As Madame Bette finished her song, Fox panned over to Springer, who was in the audience at the Kodak. His eyes were glased over in shock and his hands were clasped as he held them infront of his mouth. He had an incredible look of terror in his eyes. That man thought he had seen everything from my husband is my son...to transvestite hookers who eat cats on Tuesdays, and everything inbetween, but never this...not Bette being Bette....
Life has a funny way of pointing out that you have gaps to fill-in.... Life also has a way of reminding you that the easiest way from point A - Z is definitely not by skipping B through Y.
I have missed you all, these many months of my not really writing much on here. I was never bored with all of you. It has been a long spring, and I know that in some ways life is moving in a very possitive direction. On other fronts, life seems to move at a snails pace. I know I sound vague. I try to remain patient, since patience has gotten me this far, thus far!
Went to church twice today...played Anglican (Episcopal Church) in the morning, and Catholic in the afternoon. Reminds me that the I don't have the creed memorized (among other things) and that I have a difficult time singing in a congregation at a church. I tend to sing under the breath, so as noone around me can hear much of what comes out of my mouth. I guess, I like the anonymity, and don't want to lose that, when I am not "part of the service."
The diet is going very well, though I did cheat a little this weekend! It happens. Hopping back on this evening though!
I think I want to get back to writing more regularly, but I don't know what to say. I miss being silly in my blogs; I miss entertaining myself with my silliness. I did play text message tag during the Simpson's tonight, that was entertaining. I showed a friend of mine my juggling skill today, that was kind of silly. I told a bunch of silly music puns in rehearsal on Thursday night at church....but I have nothing at the moment. Am I just a downer tonight?
I promise to write more later..but

I wanted to let you know...the diet is going well...I leave for DC on Wed. I have a new facebook profile (which in someways I like better than my myspace profile)
Hello Friends..... The concert that I sang about 3 weeks ago with the Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, Howard Blake's Benedictus, will be rebroadcast this evening on WGCU in Fort Myers, FL at 8pm tonight (eastern time). It is available online as well, and you are invited to listen to it tonight at 8pm....here is the link to the radio station's live broadcast feed online. For those of you unfamiliar with the piece, which I might guess as all or most all of you, this is only the 4th performance of the work in the United States, the first in about 10 years, and a Florida premiere. The work, scored for orchestra, chorus, children's chorus, narator, viola soloist, and tenor soloist (yeah me, you didn't think I would play viola, did you?) Is the story of a novice's (the tenor) spiritual journey as he is eventually invited into St. Benedict's (as in the Benedictine Monks) order. The piece runs about 70 minutes and includes a rather lengthy 12+ minute aria in the middle that is uses text from Francis Thompson's poem, The Hound of Heaven. Howard Blake is primarily a movie composer, but has written several large scale works for orchestra. In many ways the music reminds me of Walton, Vaughan Williams, and Britten. The virtuosic tenor solo is in many ways very similar in difficulty as the Britten St. Nicolas.
I hope that you are able to join me tonight in this "Spirit Journey," during the rebroadcast of Benedictus, with the SW Florida Symphony orchestra and chorus, under the direction of Joseph Caulkins!
Gotta Like Me Some Dunkin' Donuts!
Category: Blogging
So, when the Devil Rays win...we get fat! Or at least the people around here get a little fatter.... Dunkin' Donuts is running a season long promo, where if the d-rays win, and you mention it while at your local DD, you get a free food! Now, granted the Rays usually lose over a hundred games, but I got my fre Donut yesterday, and since they won again today, those of us in the Tampa/St. Pete Metro area are up for a free one tomorrow, too!
Of course I should be working hard to burn off those calories.
I am, sort of,
Since we last spoke, and I had posted 4 dating ideas on suite 101, I have since gone back to the world of opera...and ta-da.... written 3 different Orpheus plot summaries (Offenbach, Gluck, and Monteverdi) and then did summaries and translations of 4 arias from Flute...(one each for Tamino, Pamina, the Queen of the Night, and Papageno) I'm not sure if anyone is actually interested in this stuff, but I now have 50 articles up on the site. I got 3 cds in the mail to review, should be an interesting week!
Wonder what this week will have in store for it.....I have a couple of interesting projects up in the air, but don't want to jinx them.
Life is good though...kicking along...got off the running for a couple of days, will get back at it tomorrow though! What about y'all????
