I'm beyond ecstatic, I don't even care one smidge how expensive the tix are OHMIGOD. Did ya'll guys know I like Ian McCulloch..did I ever mention that?? Oh, no?? I STALK HIM. I seriously am kind of an intelligent girl, and yet the fucking filth and ridiculousness and trashiness of television (and life, really) is just AMAZING to me. I can’t stop with this shit. First off, Tanisha is my favorite girl ever, I would love love love to hang with her. Second, the greatest part is at the end when Jennavecia says ," Oh look my daughter’s picture is on the floor too." SHE HAS A DAUGHTER PEOPLE. OH THE HUMANITY. Eff that band. I was made aware that drunk downloading ( a bad habit of mine) Castaways and Cutouts of the Decemberists on a snowy late night (or any other really) is kinda depressing. Well duh. Cos it always makes me think of summer and I'm all holy fuck I can't take this weather and mood much longer. However, this video is like a mini Rushmore, and for some reason, everything lately has been related to that movie.

I have dubbed a new genre..twee rock. This band was my inspiration:
They are super white. They are preppy. The music is NOT edgy, or loud, or funky, or..something I normally dig. It's..twee. It's cute and quirky and not trying so hard to be different.. and sounds like it's in the background of Rushmore montages. And the fucking singers VOICE?! How can I NOT love something so weird and almost annoying?? I cannot. I'm obsessed. I give in to the hype and the lame indie music blogs..and I like their name. And they look cute in polos and moccasins. I know, I feel odd about this too.
FUCK this song. I honestly listen to it 20 times a day.

I am feeling a little better finally..and I am SEEING JONATHAN RICHMAN 2 SHOWS IN MARCH!! I want to hug teddy bears and dance around like a loon! I really wasn't sure if I'd get to see him live because I'm such a newish fan (last Summer) , and he toured only a couple years ago..luckily he's a busy bee and creative force. I really cannot fucking WAIT.
I haven't had a cigarette or as much as a beer in 6 days. I haven't left the apt in 2 days. In other words KRISSY GOING KRAZY. I spent this whole weekend after a shitty week NOT blowing off steam or even hanging with friends, but watching SciFi channel movies and Comedy Central stand up specials. And I'm totally afraid if I don't get better..I don't have insurance for another month..like whaaaa? On top of everything I was pmsing so hard I could've led a human sacrifice or some shit. And now it's time for another work week, le sigh.
The 2 high points of this week, however=
I got tix to see the Cure at Radio City Music Hall with a pal!!! Wahooo!!
I saw the movie "Teeth" with 4 closest girls, or if you will, my Pussy Posse. If you are human and a) remember yer awkward and curious teen years b) have a preeeeetty open sense of humor and c) are in the mood to see a few severed penises, I HIGHLY recommend this movie.
Honorable mention=Drinking with new coworkers. Hehe. However, this was how the whole sick thing started, d'oh!

Bliss, thou name is pickletini. Yup, it's EXACTLY what it sounds like. How could picklejuice, cold vodka, and a spicy pickle on da glass make me enthused about drinking like I was 17 again?? But oh, it can. And did. I kind of want to drink pickletinis everyday now..sorry liver. Don't take it personally.
(Fun fact: I had to give up martinis back in college because swilling straight vodka before a night out turned out to be a bad idea. I think I learned this sometime between barfing on the subway and another time I put a cig out on my hand because I thought it was hilarious I was that numb. I will say that it was an absinthe martini, in my defense. I had to give that shit up too obviously.)
