Butsenzeller is zowaar volwassen geworden. Of toch een beetje. De
meeste tracks van 'Natt' klinken zowaar als heuse composities, al
geeft hij af en toe toch nog toe aan de neiging om zijn muzikale vlees
aan een stel uitgehongerde piranha-samplers te voeren. Verder heeft de man - ook bekend
als drummer van o.a. DAAU - zijn liefde voor bizarre ongein gelukkig niet verloren.
De plaat trapt af met 'Muted', een donkere jazzgroove. Vervolgens krijgen we electronica
die - in tegenstelling tot zijn ouder gerief - meer teruggrijpt op industrial en Vlaamsche
stuff zoals Dive, Front 242 en The Klinik. Butsenzeller deed deze keer ook beroep op een
aantal gastmuzikanten zoals Simon Lenski (DAAU), zoonlief Melvin met interessant gebrabbel,
Dieter Sermeus (The Go Find), Bassiman (Proyecto Secreto), saxofonist Andrew
Chi (eigenlijk Andrew Chi-Claes, maar dat klinkt niet zo exotisch) en Chocolate Lovers, de
Antwerpse Velvet Underground. Zoals onze chef het zou stellen: excellent! (mb, RIFRAF)

NATT PROMOCOPIES AVAILABLE !!

For the vinyl version of "NATT" we still have to wait for the official releasedate 29 September.

But for your bookies, presspeople, promotors etc....we have already some promotional cd copies available. Just ask for it. And we're looking for more live dates and dj-gigs everywhere...so shoot !!!!

We already have some live dates: the 24th of October....Butsenzeller will play a live try out during an elektronic night at Kavka Antwerp.

But for the official releaseparty where also natt-collaborators will appear (such as Chocolatelovers, Lars Senders, Lesbian Mouseclicks, Undrazz, Andrew Claes, ....and some more TBC) We have to wait till the 7th of NOVEMBER.

But it's going to be a party allright, and ofcourse it will take place at Scheld'apen in Antwerp. Butsenzeller's creative second homebase during 10 years already.

The releaseparty in Utrecht (NL) still has to be confirmed aswell.

More live dates and dj-gigs to be confirmed..and don't hesitate to book Butsenzeller yourself: as a full live act with elektronics, drums, bass, live vocals and backing singers/ A solo live act with laptop/ an electronic dj performance or just as a fantastic party deejay...take your pick...and hope to meet you all at the releasenight.

NEW ALBUM OUT ON SEPTEMBER 29 !!!

The mastering: nicely done by Carel Tieland and Andreas Geursen, is more or less finished, so we are very happy to announce the releasedate of  "NATT".

On the 29th of September the LP/CD  will be in stores and available also through Wharf Records online-shop, later on also available on mp3 through I-Tunes and other download area's. 

From next week on....every week a new song will be reveiled as a countdown treat....so come and visit this space regularly to enjoy.

Releaseparties and shows are planned in Utrecht (home of Wharf Records) and Antwerp (home of Butsenzeller) in October. We'll keep you posted for sure ! Also stay tuned for other live shows and dj-sets in your area !!!!

2008 A New Beginning !!!

To every visitor of this page: a very cool 2008,  that all your deepest desires may come true.

For Butsenzeller, 2008 marks a new era indeed not only on the personal front but also professionaly. Cause this year is the release of his new forthcoming album "NATT"...we'll keep you posted on the exact release date !! In the meantime check out the artwork (By Tania Jooris) and already one song !!!

Also the Riefenstahl EP (Boots in collaboration with Craig ward) will be released this year on Jezus Factory Records !!

Furthermore January is already a month of unusual out of the ordinary Butsenzeller performances: There's the Drums & Friends festival at Netwerk , Aalst (B) to begin with. Where Butsenzeller teams up with Bassiman (A.k.a Luc Bas drummer with Bunny, Projecto Secreto, ex Hoodoo Club etc...) for a performance including two drumsets, live elektronics and bass, groovy shit, abstract noise and other weirdness...also on the bill that night are Andrea Belfi, Teun Verbruggen (Fes, Othin Spake ...) Jozef Dumoulin (Maaiks Spirit, Othin Spake...) Eric Thielemans (Coca Cola Met God....) Sickboy and more .....

The 24th of January Butsenzeller will perform a dj-set @ Kavka in Antwerp, like he never did before, in fact he's quite nervous for this one.

He will make a live dj-soundtrack for one of his all time favorite movies: Brazil by Terry Gilliam. Not to be missed !!!

From the 1st of February till his birthday the 14th,  Butsenzeller will be joining Daau as a drummer on their Swedish Tour, and later on during their "Our Daily Bread" filmconcerts. Check this space regularly for all updates and stuff.

SPECIAL "LIVE" DRUMS’n’ELECTRONICS PERFORMANCE !!!!

Yep a one time opportunity folks...so mark your agenda's !

On the 24th of November the yearly tradition 'DE NACHT VAN DE MUZIKANT' (musicians night) will take place @ Scheld'apen (the best hangout in and around Antwerp)

Butsenzeller is asked to do a special performance together with Alfredo Bravo (drummer with Antwerp Gipsy Ska Orchestra and others)

They decided to make it a groovy shakeable experience and so two drums and electronics will take care of that mission just fine !!!

That night also other out of the ordinary performance from Elko Blijweert (Tip Toe Topic, Franco Saint De Bakker, Lais...) and David Boveé (Think Of One)

So don't miss this one !!!!!
