THURSDAY 10.25
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities

You heard it on the radio, now read it on the internet:

    - The Crave Cam was a big hit at last night's Guilty Pleasures Party and it's back in our studio for this afternoon's broadcast, if you wanna watch - click here.

    - Like Prison Break?  Get ready for the spin-off Prison Break: Cherry Hill.  I dunno, sounds like porn to me.

    - Who needs pumpkin carving templates??? I got 'em here. If you want your pumpkin to last longer, rub the carved edges with vaseline.

    - I've posted recipes earlier this week for some Halloween party treats for the kids, but what about the grown ups?  Try Pumpkin Spice Vodka!! Of ir you're having something more formal, turn your deviled eggs into spiders!

    - Meg's got some nice thoughts about the sunshine.

    - Here's a quote I read today from someone evacuated from their home in California:

"I had two days to think about: What are the most important things in my house? And they all fit in my car. I realize now how much junk I have."
       Makes you think, doesn't it?

    - Do you have one of those totally awesome Bumbo seats for your baby?  Well, they're getting recalled because kids are falling out of them.  The recall fix entails sticking instructions on the back of the seat that basically boil down to "don't be an idiot with this thing."

WEDNESDAY 10/24
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities

Welcome to the half time show! Here's what's on the radio today:

    - I was on with Nat and Drew this morning talking about how to snag some cross border shopping deals online.  Check out tomorrow's edition of 24hrs for the article.

    - It's Guilty Pleasures Party day, check out the webcam while the party's on.

    - Private Practice and Pushing Daisies have been given the green light for the rest of the tv season.

    - You thought the Spice Girls reunion was big?  Just wait ...Aqua is reuniting and Ace of Base are back on tour!

    - While we're whooping it up here, people in California are terrified.  When a blog starts "My best friend John's home burned to the ground yesterday afternoon..." you know it's serious.

    - This is just another major news story that is being covered better by you and me (or people like you and me), check out the YouTube videos for the real story.

    - There's also a GoogleMaps Mashup of San Diego on fire.

    - There are already stories saying some US Officials will try to pin the fires on Al Qaeda, seriously.  Step 1: Declare the fire an arsonStep 2: Wag the dog.

    - Meanwhile, we've had too much rain and this year's crop of Halloween pumpkins sucks.

    - If you do manage to find some and bake them instead of carving them try out these pumpkin recipes: Pumpkin Pop-Ups (little cookies you bake in Dixie Cups) or Pumpkin Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Muffins (hmmm whole wheat..)

    - Got some intimate video of your child's birth?  There's a company that wants to buy it and put it in a SuperBowl ad.

    - Tyra Banks had Lance Bass and an ex GIRLfriend on her show and it was nothing but awkward.

TUESDAY ON AIR 10/16
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities

Are you sure it's not Friday yet?  Here's what you heard me talking about on the radio today:

    - C
heck out MonoFace, a fun little game set up by an agency to celebrate their anniversary.

    - Vanessa Carlton will be at the Plaza Club on Nov 12

    - Oil hit $88 a barrel today.  Pumps around town are creeping back to 1.05ish, if you jump across the border it's more like 70cents.

    - Justin Timberlake is a Leafs fan.  Grrr.

    - The City of Vancouver wants you back at the Community Centres and so they're serving up some savings.

    - I'm a big fan of Feist's new album, The Reminder.  She's going to be on SNL on November 3.  I'm also digging the new discs from Radiohead and Annie Lennox if you want to jump on board.

    - People might think you're a little odd, but wouldnt it be nice to add a little more smile to your day.

    - The exchange rate is damn good, so spend a little of your green on something pink from Saks and Shop for a Cause!

    - This weekend I'll be at the Baby and Family FairKuljeet will be at the Women's Expo, while in Vienna they're getting ready for the Divorce Fair!

    - Gossip not only hurts, according to the NY Times it matters more than facts!

what’s on your perfect playlist?
Category: Music

I need some help.  I keep having lame people on my 6 OClock Cravings contest.  Nothing terribly wrong with them, they're often just a little shy about being on the radio.

I know y'all aren't like that.

So go over to 95Crave
and give me your 6 OClock Cravings. Your perfect playlist (of 3 songs).

Make em good and I'll get you on the radio co-hosting with me and I'll even send $50 to spend at Nando's your way too!

Hit up the site and enter now, please?!

MONDAY ON AIR
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities

Welcome back to work, scroll down to see everything on the radio:

    - The Crave Cam is up and running, comme toujours.

    -
Need a pick-me-up today? Check out this video.

    - Having a problem with your kids eating too much candy at Halloween?  Maybe it's time to introduce them to The Sugar Fairy.

- If Oprah plugged your book, how would you thank her?  Jessica Seinfeld (Jerry's husband) sent her a box with 21 pairs of Christian Louboutin shoes to say thanks for plugging her Deceptively Delicious cookbook that tells you how to get spinach into chocolate cake so your kids will eat their veggies.  Yeah, cause you know chocolate and veggies is soooo good for you?? ;)

    - Okay, you've heard of Couples Dating .. Mad About You and Will and Grace have done skits on it.... but did you know there's a Couples Dating Website?  Nothing kinky, I think, just couples looking for other couples to hang with.

    - Canadians DON'T prefer blondes, check out this survey to see how your preferences measure up.

TUESDAY 10/09
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities

Welcome back to the work week, babies.

    - Watch Kuljeet and I on the 95Crave Control Cam (btw, I've written an article for tomorrow's 24hrs showing you how to do your own webcast)

    - So you're sick of turkey, maybe you'll order in Chinese tonight? Be careful of the fortune cookie - they've hired new writers.

    - If diamonds are a girl's best friend, then this $8M diamond is the equivalent of her whole posse.

    - Still don't have tickets to the Spice GirlsRegister here, they're adding more dates all the time.

    - BTW, if the Spices aren't your thing, Nat and Drew have tix to Bon Jovi tomorrow. Tix for the December 15 show go on sale on Monday.

    - Halloween is coming up - what are your kids going to wear?  For tween girls unfortunately its usually something skanky.  For the young ones its a little easier.  We're getting our guy this chicken outfit from Old Navy for $12!

    - Need a man?  Italy is full of mama's boys.

    - I'm a food nerd, if you listen to the show you know I look to cook.  Check out the Pumpkin Soup and Apple Cake with Toffee Crust recipes I just discovered.

    - A cute new trend for fall? Not knee high socks, rather over the knee socks.

    - This sounds like a good way to solve the current strike in Vancouver.

ANTIQUE TOYS
Category: Life

Okay, maybe not antique, but in a few years these Fisher Price classics will be considered antiques.

This the camper van and airport set I played with when I was a kid.

When I hit my tweens and stopped playing with these sorts of things, did my parents pack them up and sell them off?  Nope, they packed them up and stored them.  For nearly 30 years they have sat in storage waiting for grandchildren.  And now with Ruby approaching 2 and Zizou right behind her, the old box gets unwrapped - the toys of the parents' youth now becoming the toys of their children.

I didnt know my parents did this, I mean, they're pack rats, I knew that, but to hold on to old toys for 3 decades? You think they would have given up 10 years ago when they moved houses.  But no, they held on hope that little ones would be underfoot and the toys stayed tucked away.

The craziest part of this is that the toys lasted.  If you're a parent of toddling kids now, have a look at the gear you're getting them - think those will last til 2030?  Probably not.  The old school toys are solid.  The wheels are still on the camper, the luggage carousel still rolls in the airport.

They sure don't make them like they used to, thanks for hanging on to the box Mom and Dad.

LONG WEEKEND MONDAY
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities

A long weekend means long hours as I fill in on the air today, so "Good Morning *yawn*!"

I mean, good morning y'all ...  here's what I'm up to for the long weekend:

    - Britney's neighbours are fed up and scream at her as she heads out for dinner.  The craziest part of the clip is that it's the paparazzi who shout down the woman, could they be the real enablers in this whole situation?

    - Andy Samberg is the god of SNL right now.

    - Border Cams in case you're making a run today. Here's the site with wait time estimates.

    - Is Heroes just a Star Trek spin off?  First Sulu stars on the show, now Uhura...

    - Why the hell should it matter?

    - Did you see those fugly wedding pictures from the SAtC movie last week?  Producers have said they'll be throwing a lot of fake scenes into the shoot schedule, to throw off spoilers.. thankfully this was one of them.

    - Here's some help for Halloween. We're getting the chicken costume from Old Navy for our guy - it's on sale!!

    - It's a nice day, here's a list of some stuff going on around town.  There's also the Harvest Festival at Capilano Suspension Bridge and don't forget the pumpkin patches and corn mazes!!

    -
Do you think this freaky drug mule story is an Urban Legend?  The internet says legend, I think it could happen!
