Music is great
Current mood: contemplative
Category: Music

While I was looking for music for my profile I rediscovered the music of my misspent youth.  People like Cat Stevens, Pete Seegar and Harry Chapin.  Boy did they have some great music.  I realize that  I miss the music of that era, the 60's & 70's.  I could understand every word they sang, their music wasn't so loud that I couldn't hear the lyric to their songs.  They played great tunes, that caught my imagination, they were not  just four cords and repeats, they were complex in many ways... Pete Seegar & Cat Stevens are still recording, playing and making good, even great music.  We have lost Harry Chapin, a long time ago, but his music lives on.

All you great singers, songwriters of the 60's & 70's come back, I miss you, I now have to start looking for your recordings on CD since I don't have a record player anymore.  Still have your albums but no player (how dumb is that?).

Currently listening :
Teaser and the Firecat

Just Stuff
Current mood: frustrated
Category: School, College, Greek

Ok, had an English Lit class today, it was interesting.  Had an exam, four questions, all essay.  I was one of the last to finish.  The girl next to me finished in less than 10 minutes.  I wonder how she did that?  I guess I'm very verbose, and I tend to be sure I explain myself , in great detail sometimes.

Next week we start a discussion of Steinbeck's Of Mice & Men, not one of my favorites, but I'll survive.  After that another short novel and then a test and my term paper is due by Thanksgiving.  Not a great writer of term papers, actually after avoiding term papers for a long, long time, I'm stuck.  I guess I better find out how to write them and what to write.

Reality, I chose my subject for the term paper, but it is somewhat extensive and objective.  I'm writing on J.R.R. Tolkien's creation of a world to support his developed language.  He did that a lot, invented languages and then produced the world to go with them.  Middle Earth was written to support his elvish, dwarfish, and other languages.  All I have to do is figure out how to write about that subject.  After all he wrote four very long books to support his language and I have to write 10 pages explaining how and why he did that.  HELP!

I've been known to get myself in trouble by choosing difficult subjects and I think I did that with the above, then I chose The Ticket to Work Program sponsored by the Federal Government to write about for my U.S. Gov't Class.  HELP again, this is a tough program to understand, most of the case workers, and social workers I've talked to don't undertand it how am I supposed to? And how am I supposed to write about.  Suggestions  taken gladly.
