How many unfinished manuscripts do you have?
Current mood: curious
Category: Writing and Poetry

Fess up - how many unfinished manuscripts do you have?

A) Too many to count.

B) I finish everything I start, they will be complete (someday)

PS. Did you know, authors like James Patterson have ghost writers that basically write their books for them?

Why printed books will be extinct
Current mood: fascinated
Category: Writing and Poetry

Why printed books will be extinct:

You're reading why!

Printed books eventually will become a thing of the past. They will go by the wayside like land line phones, desk top computers, like watching TV on TV sets, like dial-up, like reading the news in a print newspaper, like checking email on a computer. The list goes on and on...

Digitally reading is no different than listening to music on an ipod. Where we used to have CD's, records, tapes, we now have ipods or music in our cells and PDA's. The same will hold true with our books and reading material.

Someday, we will all be reading digitally, and printed books will be antiques.

So hang onto those printed books or toss them, and know this -- the one thing that stays the same is change.

And who knows... In the future, maybe we won't even be reading, maybe everything will be read to us through some electronic device that hasn't even been invented yet!

Smoking Manners: an oxymoron
Current mood: sneezy
Category: Life

I was at a restaurant (in the bar waiting for a table) when the gent next to me asked, "Mind if I smoke?"

"No, I don't mind," I said. But inside I was thinking -- I don't mind, but you might in 20 or 30 years...

How many remotes does it take to turn on a tv?
Current mood: inquisitive
Category: Life

All I wanted to do was watch TV... After the 1st two remotes didn't work, I looked around and counted 10 (TEN) remote controls. That's not counting any hiding under the sofa or in the junk drawer.

How many remotes does it take to turn you on? (Your TV, that is).

Happy Father’s Day!
Current mood: focused
Category: Friends

My dad is one of my best friends!

You know how you have certain friends and you can tell them anything and talk to them about anything and everything? -- that's my dad!

My dad taught me to fish, got me flying lessons, reads everything I write and gives constructive criticism and doesn't flinch at the racy scenes in my novels!

I lost count of the number of books he's written, and he is writing another new one as I post this!

My dad never questioned me when I called him at 2 am needing a ride home. He just hopped in his car, in his bathrobe and slippers, drove 10 miles to get me (and my drunk date) and never uttered a lecture.

He never got mad when I borrowed (without asking) the vintage 1968 Firebird 400 red convertible, and I had to let him know I'd been in a mishap and the irreplacable car was burnt beyond recognition. He wasn't mad, he just gave me a hug and said, "Glad you weren't hurt."

My dad's done a lot for me over the years. He always told me that I was (am) a "powerhouse" and a "smart business woman." I derived much of my confidence from him, as that confidence enabled me to go out into the world and accomplish my goals and always maintain a positive attitude.

The art of storytelling I definitely learned from my father -- he can hold an audience captive for hours with his adventurous tales.

Happy Father's Day!

Me mouth is zipped, but I will say this -- he was hot! And he was good!!

Other than that, some things are best left -- private!
