Massive Website Update!
Even though I typically keep pretty current with my MySpace and FLICKR pages, I've been neglecting my poor website lately.
As of today it's had a massive update with all my new work.
Go! Look! Masturbate furiously!

Update
Aimed mostly at my friends IRL, but also at my internet friends:
My mom passed away of brain cancer two weeks ago. I had a business trip (full of drama) immediately after her funeral and Allison's father passed away yesterday morning.
Needless to say, the month of July has not been particularly enjoyable or productive.
So, to everyone who's been wondering where the fuck I've been or why I'm been somewhat off-ish, this is why. I'm carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders right now for two families and to be honest and blunt, I just can't deal with other people's drama and/or problems. I'm pretty pushed to my limits as it is right now.
Well wishes and concern are appreciated, but ultimately I just need time and space to cope with everything. So, really, don't expect to hear/see much of me for a while. There's a lot of work to be done in both my personal/family life as well as my professional life (as we all know, not even deaths in the family prevent deadlines from clients).
I'll be back.

Fuck.
As some of you know, my mother was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor nearly two years ago. It really looked like she was going to beat the fucking thing.
Just found out she was put into hospice last week and has very little time left.
She's only 57.
Fuck.

Artists!
Currently working on the script and proposal package for my new comic book which includes zombies, supernaturally-powered samurai rockstars, the apocalypse and lots and lots of blood n' guts.
Looking to my artistically-inclined friends to see if anyone wants to do a pin-up illustration to be included in the proposal (and eventually in the comic itself).
If you've got a little free time and are interested in drawing up something nice n' violent/gory, drop me a line at chad@teoward.com
All styles welcome.

Miss Allison Wonderland
I don't talk about my personal life very often here, mostly because I'm a private kinda guy and I'm sure the intricate details of my behind the scenes life is probably very boring to most people. However sometimes something happens or someone comes along that's worth mentioning.
As some of you know, I've been single for about 7 months since breaking it off with my longtime fiance, Danielle back in September. Since then, life's been a little crazy in the romance department and I've met a lot of wonderful (and not-so-wonderful) women along the way.
That's all changed very recently when I met the very beautiful, talented and ultra-pervy Miss Allison Wonderland. With a love of 70s horror/exploitation/porn and a kinky mind that rivals my own, Allison has definitely captured my heart and captivated my soul.
I look forward to the future with her at my side, retro space-guns ablazin'. Thank you for coming into my life, love.

Natalia Lesz - "Power of Attraction" music video
Here's the music video that I did production design for back in march:
http://www. adamegyptmortimer. com/poa. htm
I had a fucking blast working on this video with director Adam Egypt Mortimer. Special thanks to my kick ass crew: Garrett, Mildred, Adrianne, Michael and Lisbeth for helping make the visual aspect of this video really stand out.

Structure
Spent a good chunk of the evening working on FABLE with Pearry last night. We've been dropping in temp music and sound FX and it's amazing how much that helps smooth out the edit. Tonite I'm going to start trimming and tightening up scenes. Sooo close...
I also sat down yesterday and evaluated my day-to-day life. Ever since dumping Danielle back in October, things have been a bit out of control for me. Not entirely unlike being a teen and moving out of the house for the first time. I realized that, in order to be as productive as I need to be (my brain tends to work overtime), I needed to put some structure into my life and start scheduling out my days in a more ordered fashion. When you live alone and are self-employed, it's WAY too easy to get lazy and unmotivated. So much has fallen by the wayside this year and I need to get back up on the horse.
So, I now have a daily schedule to adhere to--writing in the morning, office/client work in the afternoon and art/film work in the evenings. It's a little more structured than that, but you get the idea.
Cutting down on the social time. Honestly, it's brought me mostly heartache and anger. While I still suck at being alone, I think focusing on my work will give me peace of mind. There's still someone out there that I care quite deeply for, but I'm no longer pursuing. If it's meant to be, it's meant to be. If not, well...I'll always have my work.
This morning I started working on ANGELGRINDER again. It's my epic NoirPunk comic series that i've been working on in one form or another for the last 7 years. It's been about 2 years since I last worked on it. Pearry gave my notes a read through and really liked it, so that's given me the confidence to rally push forward with it. I already have a publisher interested in it, so now I just need to finish that first script.
I still have an idea for a novel that I really want to do, but I think I should finished ANGELGRINDER and the several other script notes I have first.
And lastly there's the super seekrit art project I've recently embarked on, but won't really talk about until it's done.
Onward and upward my friends.

Life.
Haven't really given a big update on the goings-on in ChadLand lately, so here's a long overdue entry for everyone.
Social Life Ah, who am I kidding? No one really gives a fuck about my personal life. So, let's just say it's been filled with lots of ups and downs. Dealing with a lot of depression lately, and trying to get physically healthier and it's just been a lot of stress on my mind. It's hard falling for someone who lives 2000 mile away. Life moves on, though.
Art -I've got a massive art project I'm dying to start, but haven't had the proper motivation/inspiration lately. Maybe soon. -I lost the entirety of AUTOPSYROTICA II and PAIN BOX to a hard drive crash. Some of it was backed up. Most of it wasn't. When I have the money to take the drive in for repair, we'll see if anything can be saved. In the meantime both those projects are on hold. I have a TON of material for DANGEROUS BEAUTIES, but may be wrapping that into the big art project I mentioned above. -Recently finished book covers for SECRET CIRCLE 1 and 2 and HUNTER GAMES. Currently working on the album art for Arise's THE RECKONING.
Photography -I've pretty much given up on TFP type photography. I know there are a million extremely beautiful girls out there dying to pose fore me, and whom I'd love to photograph but it's gotten to the point where this is becoming an expensive hobby that I can no longer afford. So, with that in mind, I'm only taking on PAID shoots right now. It's my hope that with my current portfolio and connections, I might be able to start shooting larger "name" clients. I'm still going to shoot on occasion with certain people for my own personal books and such, but it's going to be a case of me coming to you, instead of vice versa. -I worked with the amazingly cool Katie West over the weekend. I've been wanting to shoot her for..oh...pretty much forever. I'm not sure how I found her originally, probably through Warren Ellis. Katie and her wonderful bf Matt finally had the opportunity to travel out to L.A. for the week and we spent an entire afternoon shooting around my loft. In a strange "small world" turn of events, it turns out that Matt's sister actually built the building I live in. Weird, that. The photos, in all their NSFW goodness, can be seen on my FLICKR page (http://flickr.com/photos/chadmichaelward/). And Katie? You can come hang out with me ANYTIME. You=teh rad. -Shooting the super hot Kristen and her bandmate Mick this weekend. Oh yes, there will be blood. ;) -have another shoot with Evil Threads coming up next month. Hot chicks in tight shirts. Oh lord how will I manage?
Porn I have a site/buyer set up if I want to shoot porn photography. Part of me really wants to, but part of me thinks that I wouldn't be any good at it. I also have a few possible options for directing porn as well. Again, I want to, but would I be able to make something that's unique AND still hot as hell? Anyone wanna come over and practice? Hahah. Maybe I should just get off my ass and do it. god knows I could really use the dinero.
Film/Video -Did the production design for Natalia Lesz' "Power of Attraction" last month. Director Adam Egypt Mortimer crafted a killer concept (based in part on THE PAIN BOX) and let me go crazy with it. I can't wait to see the final results, which should be out soonish I would assume. -As mentioned before, FABLE currently has an assembly cut done. Right now I'm adding in temporary music, tightening/redoing some of the edits and generally trying to "make it work" while my esteemed producer Pearry is out lining up deals and extras for us. Speaking of deals, it looks like THE 13TH HOUR (of which FABLE is a part of) is being lined up to be distributed by a MAJOR company. Nothing I can really talk of yet, but this means that FABLE will (in theory anyway) be available via rental stores, amazon, etc. Still, we're putting the cart before the horse here, as there's still a ton of work to be done on the project. Pearry's finished his "final" cut of NECROMENTIA and it looks fucking amazing. I'm proud to be a part of a project that his caliber of talent behind it.
which brings us to:
Writing -I've got several script ideas I want to start working on soon. One of them, which ties into one of my other projects (hint, hint) is being prepped for a certain major producer who is in love with the concept. I've got to get an outline written for it soon. All I can say is that if it happens, you will all shit your pants. It's that cool. -I owe Lee at Bloodfire Studios a proposal for my epic ANGELGRINDER comic series that I realllly need to finish. I've had the outline done for at LEAST 2 years but haven't found time to actually, y'know, WRITE the fucking thing. -I also have an idea for an untitled novel loosely based on my experiences in L.A. It'd be part horror, part porn, part mystery and all over the top craziness. I'd like to think of it as Warren Ellis meets Chuck P. Or something.
Appearances -I am signing copies of THE DNA/HACKER CHRONICLES at the Hot Monkey Love Cafe in San Diego on the 19th with Lee Kohse/Bloodfire Studios and Pearry Teo. Ego Likeness will be performing as well as Voltaire who will be performing with his Pirate Gypsy Band. There's a strong possibility that I'll have prints for sale there. -The San Diego Comic Con is quickly coming up in late July. Rumor has it that Pearry and I may be staying somewhere much much cooler than a regular hotel. One that allows for debauchery and parties. If it comes true, I'll let you know. :)
At the Cineplex I LOVE LOVE LOVE going out to the movies but haven't really had the chance lately. I FINALLY got the chance to see DOOMSDAY and 21. DOOMSDAY was seriously absurd and not nearly epic enough for my tastes, but I laughed and cheered my way through the whole thing, so it gets a thumbs up in my book. 21 was extremely predictable, but made me REALLY want to go play in Vegas. If Sarah doesn't make it here in time for my bday next month, I might just plan a trip to Vegas instead.

Comic fans!
THE DNA/HACKER CHRONICLES 1 is now officially available for purchase in stores and via the website at:
http://www.bloodfire.com/products/
This comic is part of the THE GENE GENERATION movie project, both of which were written and directed by my partner Pearry Teo, and of which I’ve been heavily involved with for the last few years. I served as one of the production designers and concept artists for the film and am the art director/consultant for this comic series. I also did the cover art for the SUPER rare variant edition.
If you’re a fan of cyberpunk, good violent sci-fi and bad ass babes, then you owe it to yourself to pick this comic up!
