Brian Knight & Insidious Publications-Official Announcement
Current mood: excited
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities

I know, I said this announcement was coming Friday morning, but I'll be busy elsewhere in the morning and figured, Hey! What's a few hours? This will be a lengthy post, I apologize. There's a lot of information to share. Here it goes.......

Due out this January, is the new novella fromInsidious Publications by Brian Knight, "1200 AM Live".

This is book 04 in IP's softcover novella series and asalways, is completely produced and hand bound here in the IP office. It featuresfull color interior illustrations rendered from the paintings of up and comingartist Hannah Walthers, who also provided the cover. This softcover is limitedto 500 signed and numbered copies and sports French parchment endsheets andheavy linen signature sheets. It's a handsome book, if I do say so myself.Below, is a brief synopsis:

Deviance, criminal behavior, and sex with turkeys; it's all in anight's work for shock jock Andy Crow and his sidekick Charles Greene. Younever know what you're going to hear when you tune to 1200 AM Live.

Explore the darker side of human nature with theinhuman Crow. Everyone has their kinks.

This is a creepy, sexy little ditty and not quitelike anything I've ever read from Sir Brian in the past. Below you'll find asample page from the softcover as well as a couple of the paintings that appearinside the book--

Now, normally, this is where I would thank you for lookingand direct you to our website, but we're not quite finished yet. This book hasbecome a very special release for IP, not only because it's the first book we'vepublished for Brian Knight--I've been a fan of his work for several years--butwe're also, for the first time, offering a hardcover edition.

This hardcover edition is limited to 26 signed and letteredcopies. It's completely hand crafted and bound in leather. This edition featuresheavy linen endsheets and a complete linen interior. Nearly every page is a workof full color art, with custom borders to enhance your reading pleasure. Belowyou'll find a couple of sample pages, plus a photo of the interior of the actualbook to give you a feel for what it would look like in your hands--

...but that's not where it ends. Also, in this letterededition of "1200 AM Live", we've included a bonus story by Brian,"Toys in the Attic".

Sound pretty good? If so, wait, there's more.

We will also be releasing a 3rd edition of "1200 AMLive", that we lovingly call the ULTRA edition. We're only releasing five(5!) units of the ULTRA, signed and numbered. Each unit will include the leatherbound hardcover and the softcover and will be housed in a custom, leather boundtraycase. Also, Brian will personally inscribe each of the ULTRA edition booksfor the purchaser any way they want them. (There's a notation box on the orderpage to list the information you want to appear.) There may be a couple moresurprises with this version, but we're still working on that. We'll update ASAP.

So, folks, that's it! Told you it was a lot of informationand I hope I left nothing out. For pricing and other information, visit the IPwebsite.

We're getting close!
Current mood: accomplished

I just got the last of the contributor copies of The Problem With Mickey bound up and ready to cut to size. It's really cool seeing all these books stacked up together. It almost sucks that I have to send them out. But, out they go. Tomorrow if I can make it happen. Most likely it will be on Thursday or Friday though, because I want o make sure all the contributors get copies of the promotional artwork that comes along with the book. Tom told me they're going back out in the mail to me tomorrow, now that he's been able to autograph them all. Cross your fingers with me that the Post Office doesn't fumble the package…or run over it or some other such stupidity.

It's been an interesting week and I'm getting ahead now, but I still have a LOT of work to do in order to make this deadline. Short of a natural disaster, hitting said deadline shouldn't be a problem.

Now I'm off to veg in front of the idiot box for a while—until I fall asleep compliments of a couple of Tylenol PM's. It'll be a long day tomorrow, so I need my beauty sleep.

Check my blog periodically. I'll try to keep you updated on the current Insidious Publications news.

So, until next time, may your days be inspired with blood and your nights be…Insidious.

Book Three of our softcover novella series, Strawberry Man by Eric Shapiro is in the final editing and design stages. Expected to release early 2007.

Ben Klein used to sell his own brand of strawberries, but he's been out of   that racket for quite some time. He much prefers to travel the  globe, giving speeches on farming and winning corporate           awards. When he ventures into an unnamed metropolis to claim his latest prize, he finds himself stranded on the top floor  of one of the world's tallest buildings.
An epic storm has smashed    across the planet, wiping out every creature that wasn't thousands of feet off the ground. As of now, there is no ground. Through the windows of the famous Peak Restaurant,      Klein and three young servers watch the water grow higher. And   the higher it gets, the more they panic... and the more truth       Klein shares about his violent past.
Strawberry Man is a         surrealistic vision of a drowning skyscraper, a view of bald nature at war with corporate ambition, and a look at a man who             finally faces the raging nature within himself.

Insidious work to be done.....

....Insidious Publications work, that is. As many of you know, our newest book release is The Problem With Mickey by the very talented, Tom Moran.  The layout and design is done by Paul Danda, my partner, and the books are printed and bound by hand by yours truly. It's a tedious and sometimes frustrating job that requires a ton of my time and attention, but is absolutely a labor of love. I love books, always have. So, being able to create them by hand and have the public enjoy them is something I find, well, it's just cool, damnit!

I mentioned frustration. Well, apparently, every friggin' store within 100 mile radius of the IP office, decided to stop carrying the supplies I MUST have to complete this project. I know this because I went to every conceivable store within that 100 miles. Frustrating, right? We did the online thing, but they always tend to ship everything separately. Total pain in the ass. If I order FOUR of something, it's probably because I need all four RIGHT THEN! Not one on Tuesday, 2 on Friday and the last one in the middle of the next week! What the hell is that? Before you say to go directly to the manufacturer, I did. They  are the ones that do that shit to me.  Third party suppliers are even worse.

But, I DID find a place that can get what I need all at once.  I may have to wait  a few days for it to come in, but at least I get everything I need in one shot and I can move on. Ya know?

My point is, we're back on schedule for a timely release. The book drops on the 1st of April. That's right, April Fool's Day. But it ain't no joke, and neither is the book. It's a seriously kick ass story with some truly incredible artwork--also provided by Mr. Moran.

All in all, I love this business. And believe me, as soon as Mickey is unleashed on the world, we will be hard at work on the next project. (Actually, we already are. Have been for months.)

If you would like to preorder a copy, you can get it here:
The Problem With Mickey

Or, just wait for the release. It's right around the corner.

For our other projects, check out the IP site here:
Insidious Publications

Talk to you guys soon.
