As expected, the L.A.P.S Walk went over fantastic. It's so nice to see the growth of this event raising awareness for Brain Injury Rehabilitation and helmet safety, from the very beginning to where it is today. To think it only started a few years ago. What an amazing day.... priceless to see the smiles on the faces of the TBI Victims.
This year we had the military participating. I had the pleasure to speak with Brigadier General Fausone. Unfortunately, the number one injury coming home from Iraq and Afganistan is Open and Closed Traumatic Brain Injury. Some Closed Head Injuries Diagnosed sometime after the actual injury. This was a concern I spoke about a few years back at the very first walk, and now they are participating. General Fausone and I will be continuing our discussion on how and what we can do together to bring TBI needs to the forefront. The concern for our troops is that they have the care they deserve for as long as they need it, after serving our country. Their presence really made an impact.
Jerome Marks was also there who spoke on behalf of Michigan's Governor Jennifer Granholm. Jerome and I actually walked the MIS track together along with the other 520 participants.
Ernie Irvan was as expected, as inspiring, funny, and as pleasant as ever. I'm honored to call him a friend, along with the rest of the L.A.P.S WALK, BIAMI and BIAA crew.
I got the opportunity to meet some wonderful people, who were quite inspiring.
ONCE AGAIN, THE L.A.P.S WALK 2007, WAS A DAY THAT PUT IT ALL INTO PERSPECTIVE.

WOW – you were so spectacular AGAIN!
Christi, words are so inadequate in expressing to you the deep appreciation of our MI Host Committee, Tom, Chipp and Lindsey for all that you did to make our event such a success again this year. In fact, this year was our biggest event to date with over 520 participants. Your over 45 minute concert added immensely to the event. Especially as participants arrived, to hear your energy and passion gave energy to the entire day – bottom line, the day would not have been the success had it not been for you!
Please stay involved and in touch with us – we need you as part of the brain injury movement!
Thanks ever so much for your time and commitment to making this year's LAPS Walk our best yet. Let me also extend the appreciation of Ernie Irvan, his Race2Safety Foundation, the Brain Injury Association of Michigan's Board of Directors and all of the Association's members, for ultimately it is for them and improving their lives that this event was created.

Well Howdy ya'll.....

A very dear friend of mine. Ali Simard is Training for the Rock n Roll Marathon to raise money for The Leukemia and Lymphome Society. So far she is half way to her goal in donations. If anyone is interested in learning more or donating.... go to the following link.

This girl is an extremely busy Business Woman, Wife, and Mother.... the fact that she has taken this on, only proves that she is truly amazing....
