Oprah's "Big Give" Reality Search

Last week I went to LA to audition for Oprah's new reality show the "Big Give." I was number 554 out of over 600 people who were there to pay it forward. The energy in the ball room was was amazing. All these unique people from different walks of life were coming together to make a difference in the world and I had the pleasure of being part of it.
It was a long process and a all day event. I got there at 9am and did not get my turn until after 5pm. I was nervous, but had a good feeling. I felt like something powerful was about to happen. I did the plank walk up to two producers that said "We are just going to cut to the chase, What has inspired you to want to "Give Big?" and in a 2min. nutshell I told my story.

I talked about my recent growth and transformation, I talked about the obstacles I had overcome, and I talked about " Raising Cain." I told them through all of this I learned my passion and purpose was to give back BIG! The producers said that I had a amazing story and asked me to move forward to the next round, they put a "M" on the corner of my registration paper (I think it stood for MAYBE) and sent me off the the next phase which consisted of getting my mug shot picture, (I actually held a number) my information put in the data base, and a copy of the application. I was told if they were interested they would call me back that night to schedule a on camera interview the next day. I drove home in the rain and the whole way was thinking,Oh my god.... this may actually happen. I did NOT receive a call, but what I did receive was a wonderful LESSON. I have already won! I already have it all right in front of me. I learned I really have begun to heal. I chose not to take this as rejection, but rather to acknowledge myself for taking a risk. I do not have to be chosen for a television show to continue to GIVE BIG. It is my responsibility to give back in my life and I am doing so in raising my baby brother everyday as well as being a Life Coach. There has been some challenges with Cain the last few months and I believe god kept me where I needed to be in the moment. My priority right now is to pay it forward to this boy and mold him into a measure of a man. I know in my heart there is something big out there for me, a platform to continue to share my story to help heal others, to be of service. I don't know when our how, but I am waiting to receive it when the universe decides to manifest my thoughts and deliver me my dreams, hopes, and desires. Ask, Believe, and Receive! That is "The Secret."
