ahahah I am sitting at a computer lab at the U of M and out of curiousity, played Jon Secada on youtube...forgot it was playing. As I'm filling out papers & doing 'business' work, I'm sitting here singing along, "Juuust anoother dayyy without youuu" ahhaha And it takes me 3/4 of the song to realize I'm singing along, on top of knowing every word ahah!
I love it. I think it's Jon Secada...no, who is it? That reminds me of picking up my Dad from the train station in Minot with my mom as a kid; it was playing in the overhead speakers. I remember the train station feeling really foreign and superior. Romantic and distant.
It's funny how memories are linked to certain things.
Another example: I was in Nova Scotia a few months back. Made some AWESOME friends. I LOVE that place! While out there I used this honey body lotion. I hadn't used it since, unintentionally, and the other day I put it on and stopped in my tracks. I was taken RIGHT BACK THERE. I hadn't even remembered that I brought that lotion to my auditions out there. But there it was. A full body-mind placement at the university before my audition.
Seriously, the best version of this song, ever, even against the original (the kinks). Everyone else is so 'WHEN.I.LOOK.UP.FROM.MY.I.MINE.AS.WELL.BE.A.ROBOT.//ROBOT!'
"-It must be a good piece of land. -Move in with your son! -I wanted to. -Then, do it! Buy a car, a TV. -What for? I never watch it. Always the same crap. ::Seller gets out a wad of $1000 USD:: -Or else…I could bury the money…put it in a little jar. -Sure! -That would be nice…"
