Pre-Paid Media Spotlight Event

Pre-Paid Media Spotlight Event

JUSTICE FOR ALL | ACCESSING THE PROMISE

I am
very excited to announce that on February 16th, Pre Paid Legal will be
featured on Tru TV.

This documentary about Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc. will find an audience
with those interested in a revolutionary solution to the growing problem of
limited access to justice. The program will be informational and educational in
nature and provide a glimpse into our unique company and the services we
provide.

Far from a typical documentary which focuses on something interesting but may
have little direct impact on the individuals viewing it, this program will
address needs that most people have.

Most people who do not have access to legal counsel will simply accept their
circumstances and go on. When the credit card company charges unfair fees, when
your cell phone service provider is unreasonable, or when an invoice is higher
than quoted, what can we do but pay and go on?

In many cases, and for most people, it's not about whether we will absolutely
have to have an attorney. It's more about whether having an attorney could make
a difference through empowering us to make better decisions, resolve conflicts,
and have peace of mind. This program will address this concept and much
more.

We hope you will tune in to Tru T.V. on February 16th. Please check local
listings for program availability in your area.

Allen Lee
Current mood: disturbed
Category: disturbed Life

I have been reading what has been happening with Allen Lee and I have expressed my opinion in a soap box article on my website (http://ChuckBaker.org) but I feel that more should be said about this issue.

For those of you that may not have heard, Allen Lee a straight "A" high school student was arrested after he turned in an essay that was assigned in his creative writing class. He followed instructions when he was told to write down anything that came to mind and not to do any self sensor ship in the process.

He turned in his essay and his teacher read it and was disturbed by it. She took it to the principle who read it and was disturbed by it and the principle took it to other teachers for review. It was decided that the police should be called and Allen Lee was arrested on 2 counts of disorderly conduct. A misdemeanor punishable by up to 30 days in jail and a $1,500 fine.

I know with all the school shootings and what happened at Virginia tech people are afraid but that shouldn't be an excuse to abandon common sense

The school officials were wrong in what they did. I am not saying that the writing should have been ignored but they could have called the parents and the student in to find out what was going on. But instead out of fear they called the police.

What I find disturbing is that in a country where we are supposed to have freedom of speech you can be arrested because someone doesn't like what you write.

So who did Allen Lee hurt? From what I have read he has never hurt anyone. Has he been hurt? Let's see. He faces jail and a fine and his Marine career is over before it even got started. Seems to me that he and his family are the ones that have been hurt.

Seems to me that the school officials did more harm to Allen Lee then he did to anyone. The poor judgment of these officials may have cost him his future.

Over the years schools have gained more and more power over the way students are disciplined and in some cases even going as far as telling parents how they should be raising their kids at home. Maybe the problem has to do more with the schools then with the students
