Eclectic Clothing photos

Two pictures from the Eclectic Clothing shoot:

Photographer credit: Sergio Rodriguez of Smashbox Studios. I did my own makeup, I love how it turned out. The stylist braided my hair which was painful, but looks really cool. On the day that I went to go pick up the CD from him, he said that Janet Jackson and Britney Spears were both going to be at Smashbox that day for photo shoots. Crazy.

$$ has been awesome since I've turned SAG - I've worked two jobs that have paid as much as five non-union jobs. I also booked a Wienerschnitzel radio commercial! I taped two spots and they will begin airing in September for the 3 for 3.33 deal. I am the girl who goes, "Dear Diary..." The copy was really funny, and I am now SAG/AFTRA (AFTRA is the union for voiceovers and radio). Woo hoo!

Lately..

*Yay* for my career!

* My third SAG voucher! Two weeks later, I got cast for a SAG job that decided to rescind once they found out my paperwork was still being processed. Can't wait to compete for the big jobs.

* I was requested to audition by the Senior VP of Casting of Focus Features for one of the supporting roles in their upcoming animated feature. Dude. Too cool.

* I booked my first AFTRA voiceover job for the hit Disney show, Hannah Montana! I play Brianna from Georgia in the episode about Miley's perfume. It's my first huge job. I've arrived!

*Yay* for my new workout regimen!

* Have lost 4 pounds.
* Incorporating changes as part of a new lifestyle.

Boo for my personal life.

* Have you ever thought of what it would be like to move to another country, change your name, and start all over? Sigh, there's something about sharing history with people that is somehow priceless.

For every part of your life that goes well, you can be certain an equal and opposite obstacle will come to balance that out. Aaah, gotta learn to roll with the punches.. If you're curious, I got all of the pictures from the insanely saccharine www.cuteoverload.com.

A continual journey ahead..

New Music:

Remember the Purple Ring music video I was in for the artist TONE?

Click on the player for samples of his music!

The Purple Ring song is the fourth one. His album is set to release soon and it's going to be hot!

What an intense month June has been... the bad news including food poisoning and a terrible two-week cold where I lost my voice.

I also had an encounter today where I should have stood up for myself, but I didn't. I've grown up being afraid of confrontation and I try to give people benefit of the doubt. Many people (especially in my industry) will try to put you down to give themselves a higher status, and I've let it happen too many times. You can't let anyone take your self-respect, because without it you're nothing. It's not that people walk all over me, but that I let them because I want to be easy to get along with. But inside I'm still pissed at how I'm being treated, but I don't know how to deal with it.. I'm continually realizing things about myself, whether it's in my acting or in my personality, and just recently am I truly learning the meaning of acceptance. Only after I throw away the judgement, shame, embarassment, and face the truth about myself with no excuses can I be ready to change. Life is too short not to fight to become a better person.

On the other hand, the good news is that I've had an audition almost everyday (mostly ones I find on my own, but my agent is sending me on some big voice overs including Disney and Nickelodean cartoons), modeled for the Eclectic clothing line, featured in the OMP Showcase Gallery, been taking an improv class at Second City, studying with a brilliant voice over teacher Alex Polinsky, AND...

*AND*...

I am one of the FIVE FINALISTS for the East West Magazine contest! The results were in the June/July issue, and they said tens of thousands of votes were cast! I did not expect to make it into the top five at all and I was utterly shocked. Now it's up to a panel of judges to decide on who the winner is. ..THANK YOU SO MUCH/ to everyone who voted, I am INDEBTED to each and every one of you!!

I also was able to have my demo reel put together and I LOVE IT! The screenshot is a capture of my DVD menu (you can't see the photo gallery unless you have the DVD), and remember to have your sound turned on! You can watch a low-resolution, fast loading version by clicking on the picture below.

E3 Pics!

E3! Last week I got to go to the infamous E3 tradeshow (Electronic Entertainment Expo) to work as a model for Hudson Entertainment (they make Bomberman, Bonks, TurboGrafx16, ring tones). The latest video games are launched and demoed and huge announcements are made in the industry. Paris Hilton was there for an hour promoting her new video game (rumor is she called it by the wrong name, oh brother!). My brother had always gone to E3 and I thought it was going to be over the top like Vegas with crazy giveaways. Well, they decided to tone down the dress codes of the booth babes and raise the attendee requirements. I heard previous years some booth babes were wearing thongs on bottom and that's it. People were standing in lines for over an hour to try out the Nintendo Wii!!

Here are some pics:

So much eye candy. EA had a jawdropping display that went around 360 degrees.

Gilbert Gottfried with a booth babe from Gods and Heroes.
We got interviewed by G4 by another host, and other TV stations as well.

You would not believe how many people will queue up to pose with two models, a throne, and a sword.

THIS BULLDOG KNOWS HOW TO SKATEBOARD BETTER THAN I DO.
I LOVED HIM THE MOMENT I MET HIM HE IS A NUTTER.
His owner would roll the skateboard and this dog would chase after it like a lunatic.
I actually think he rocks the leather look better than me as well.

Us posing with fans. While walking around we must have posed for over 300 pictures over 3 days!

This guy actually works with a director I've worked with!
My director recognized me and emailed me these pics when his coworker was showing them at work.

Time for my Jerry Springer Moment, *ahem*..
.."perhaps the best thing that I got from E3 is not huge, but only a wee bit bigger than a mango. Something that I had to camp out in line for 4 different times to win. And in the end I couldn't even win it and had to rely on the kindness of a stranger. Yes, my friends, I fell in love with a sheep. And not just any sheep. A Harvest Moon sheep."

I am possessed in this picture. They had to pry me off this sheep.
Alas, they would not give away Sheep but they would gamble away Lamb.

I have named him Muttonface. He's a bit of a gangster.

Muttonface literally shoving his mutton face in Meow Meow's face.
I believe some ungentlemanly words were exchanged.

I strive to be the first Rabbit and Lamb Whisperer. Cesar Millan rules!

I was on CSI!

Thanks to everyone who voted for my East West contest! Since it's only based on online votes, I won't be too sad if I don't become a finalist. Who knows how many votes the other contestants can round up?

I've been leaving my days open since my agent said they will call me for auditions on the morning of. Pilot season is over and almost all of the TV shows have gone on hiatus. For the past three weeks I've been sitting around at home, with the occasional background gigs. S has been visiting me, and it's been fun to drag him on some jobs with me. We did the "Fast and Furious 3: Tokyo Drift" reshoot (the test audience didn't like the ending, so they decided to shoot a new ending with Vin Diesel who hadn't been in the original movie). That was an 18.5 hour shoot from 10:30am to 4am. There's one shot where I should be clearly seen. We also did the Nelly Furtado 'Maneater" video together (which was a 14-hour shoot). It was choreographed by Frank Gatson, who also does Beyonce and Rihanna's videos. S and I were just blurry backgrounds, he he:

I also did background for an Axe commercial starring Nick Lachey (who is not even 6 feet?), and there were 6 paparazzi waiting outside set. Nick seemed a bit down. I also saw Mr. and Ms. Jay from Top Model at Barnes and Noble at The Grove yesterday. I have the biggest crush on Mr. Jay.

Remember the CSI geisha job where I was picture-picked? :pleased: Finally a job where I'm featured! I did my own makeup. Click on the picture to watch the video!

Help me be on the cover of a magazine!

I am trying to become the 2006 face of East West magazine!

[East West] is a nationally distributed magazine that has a contest every year for one reader to be on the cover of their December issue. I had to submit my picture, and a 100 word essay on why I am the combination of East and West about three weeks ago.

I got selected as one of 30 semifinalists! The five finalists will be picked via ONLINE VOTING ALONE!!! So I need your help to register and cast a vote for me! One vote per person (no limit on IP addresses).

1. Go to http://www.eastwestmagazine.com

2. Click on the "Register to learn more.." and register for an account (you need to put a valid email)

3. Check your email and click on the activation link

4. Login and vote for me!

Since it's just based on online voting, the top five finalists will be the ones with the most friends and family, so I need to try to get as many votes as I can! Please tell your friends and family to vote! The final winner will be picked by a panel of judges in the industry to be on the cover and have a spread in their magazine!!

Thanks everyone!!!!

Help me advance to the next round of Asian American Idol!

I'm currently competing in an Asian American Idol singing contest sponsored by Element. I made it to Round 2 of Asian American Idol (there is a total of 5 rounds), and I need your help to vote on the Internet to make it to the next round!

You can watch the videos of all of the contestants at:
http://elementsf.com/03aai/idolsr2.html

The videos are very low-quality. Some of my pitches are flat in the video, which is not how I sang them live! Incentive to come watch me live :)

To vote on the Internet:
1. either go watch the videos and click on "vote here" under my name, OR

2.Go to
http://www.evite.com/awong420@hotmail.com/round2

3. Put "10 - Chyna Chuu" in the reply box.

I won't be able to make it on the next round without your support! :)

Please forward to friends and family ^_^

*Thanks*!! :)
Chyna
