Cilla celebrates her 65th birthday today...

Cilla reaches yet another milestone anniversary today as she turns 65. She then celebrates her 45th year in showbiz in September.

Tickets on sale now for Cilla's first pantomime in 15 years!

Cilla is to return this Christmas to her native city to play the Fairy Godmother in a festive production of Britain's No. 1 Pantomime "Cinderella"...

Cilla appears alongside actress, model and singer Jennifer Ellison as Cinderella, comedian and TV star Les Dennis as Buttons and actor Ted Robbins as Baron Hardup. Radio presenter Pete Price and Brick up the Mersey Tunnels star Roy Brandon play the Ugly Sisters. This surprise return to the stage will be Cilla's first pantomime for over 15 years and is sure to be a highlight to the finale of the city's year as European Capital Culture 2008!

Cilla Black said: "...This is definitely a homecoming, as Liverpool is 'home' to me and I can't wait to spend time with my friends and family. I am also very excited that my grandchildren will be able to come and see me in a pantomime and there is no better place than Liverpool for them to do that....I'm really looking forward to getting back on stage there."

You can now watch the music video that Cilla filmed for her last EMI single "Beautiful Goodbye" on youtube.com.

The song was taken from Cilla’s 2003 studio album "Beginnings" and was co-written by the award-winning American songwriter Kim McLean (alias Kim Patton-Johnston). Kim is renown for penning hits for many stars of Country music.

Songwriter Burt Bacharach to receive GRAMMY honour

Bacharach's contribution to popular music to be honoured with a "Lifetime Achievement Award"...

Burt Bacharach's timeless legacy of song is being honoured in February 2008 by The Recording Academy® at their 50th GRAMMY Awards. During the 1960s and '70s Cilla recorded and performed many classics by the songwriter. She is of course is best-known for her single releases of two Bacharach penned tunes: "Alfie" and "Anyone Who Had A Heart".

Other recipients of this year's "Lifetime Achievment Award" are Doris Day (singer), The Band (rock band), Cab Calloway (jazz singer), Itzhak Perlman (violinist), Max Roach (drummer/composer) and Earl Scruggs (banjo player).

Atomic Kitten release their version of Cilla’s hit

The pop trio cover Cilla's 1964 chart-topper...

British Girl group Atomic Kitten are making a comeback on January 28. The hope is to make their cover of Cilla's hit "Anyone Who Had A Heart" Liverpool's 57th No. 1 single - to celebrate the city's European Capital Of Culture status. The release forms part of the city's Number One Project for the Capital Of Culture celebrations.

Cilla is notably the most successful female recording artist from Liverpool. She achieved No. 1 hits with the Bacharach penned tune "Anyone Who Had A Heart" and Italian ballad "You're My World".

Original studio albums due out for Cilla’s 45th Anniversary in Showbiz!

Cilla celebrates her "sapphire" anniversary in show-business in September 2008. To mark this special occasion EMI (UK) are re-issuing 4 of her classic studio albums!

Titles included are "Surround Yourself with Cilla", "Day by Day with Cilla", the US-recorded album "It Makes Me Feel Good" and Top 10 hit "Sher-oo!"Although the re-issues were originally due in July 2008 EMI have decided to coincide the actual digital re-issue with Cilla's September anniversary. Incidentally, it was in January 1968 (40 years ago) that Cilla made her debut as a television star, when the BBC launched her very own variety-entertainment show "Cilla"

Ferrero Rocher use Cilla's hit single Something Tells Me in their latest TV campaign

Cilla's 'Top 5' hit single Something Tells Me is used being used in a 2007 Christmas TV ad campaign...

An advert for the popular Italian hazelnut chocolate confection, Ferrero Rocher is for the second year running to use Cilla's hit single, Something Tells Me. This classic Greenaway/Cook penned track was Cilla's biggest hit of the 1970s and also used as the theme to her BBC TV show Cilla.
