Mother’s Day!!
Current mood: sleepy
Category: Life
What a nice day today was!! My daughter, Jim, Lily, Eden and I went for brunch. They gave me an electric smelly good stuff pot (this is the technical name I'm sure).I've aleady used it tonight and it's awesome. The rest of the day was pretty calm then Zach got home with a card, the most beautiful pink roses and chocolate covered strawberries. I could tell how proud he was to give them to me and he didn't even seem to mind giving me a hug and kiss today, lol. Only bad thing was that for reasons I won't go in to I couldn't be with my Mom. But, I do get to see her next weekend and I can't wait. Just wanted to write something positive because well, it's been a while since I had something positive to write about. Sweet dreams all,
Cindy

Things That Make A Parent Proud
Current mood: Very, Very Proud
Last night Zach hit a home run. It was the 4th Inning and Zach was 1st up to bat. He was a little discouraged because his previous time up to bat he hit the ball and it ended up being a foul then a strike out. So, he hits the ball and all at once everybody in the bleacher's stand as we watch the ball fly and fly and keep flying. You could see the excitement in his eyes as he ran to 1st base. Then, running to second as he tried to see where the ball landed. By the time he got to 3rd base he had a grin from ear to ear. The coach on third did too as he teased Zach that he was the reason he got the hr well, the fact that he pitched so many balls to him. LOL By the time he got to home plate, everybody was screaming at him, the team greeted him on the field and people were congratulating me telling me how proud I should be. I actually had a tears in my eyes I was so excited. It was definately one of those moments that makes a parent proud. Zach got to keep the ball which everybody signed. Later, Zach explained that he was upset over the strike out so he told a buddy he was just gonna go up there and whomp the ball. And that, he sure did! Of course we had to celebrate the event with Dairy Queen and a movie. It's the day after and we're still so excited and so proud.
I guess the only down fall to the evening was that Zach's Dad was supposed to be there and just never showed up. No call, no nothing. What a shame, huh?! It would have been nice for him to feel what I felt at that moment and what I feel right now. To see his son be the center of attention for a short while. By the way, they won the game 5-3. Makes a parent proud~

My Sick Baby
Current mood: contemplative
|
|
My baby is home sick with double ear infection for the second day in a row. For the select few who may not know, my baby will be 12 on Friday. He is a macho little guy, all boy!!! Is there anything more pathetic then a sick little one? No!!!
However, there is a bright, bright, bright spot to this whole thing. Once again, he actually is my baby, wanting to schnuggle, wanting his back rubbed, wanting to lay his keppy (head) on Mommy's lap. Just wanting me around him. You should know isn't an occurance that happens real often, anymore. I mean don't get me wrong, I know he loves me but at almost 12, Mom just isn't the coolest person in the world anymore. No matter what I keep telling him. So, I am relishing in the fact that for a few days, he'll be my baby again. Because I know that come Thursday, it will be over with, he'll feel better and I'll be back to begging for a hug or kiss or the least bit of affection from him. I know I know, I can threaten and get hugs and kisses. My favorite one being if you don't hug me now, I'll wait until your friends get here and kiss you! LOL
The moral of the story I think is this. Enjoy your children, before you know it, their almost grown up.
Anyway, thanks for letting me share and for taking the time to read this.
By the way, my other baby is 23~ |

Question(s) of the Day!!
Current mood: curious
Two friends are chatting, one has some issues-
Should the friend that's listening constantly nag when they know the other friend doesn't want to talk about it any further?
Or, do they take a cue and just be there for the other person?
Curious please let me know what you think?
I say a good friend listens and takes cues~

Quote from a Dear Abby Reader
Current mood: amused
The place for a good wife (or husband) is neither on a pedestal nor in the gutter. It's on a comfy sofa, each with an arm around the other -- cuddling and secure in the knowledge of the love they share.
I thought this was pretty "right on" and wanted to share. I think it applies to any relationship!
