On a sad note, the beautiful actor John Phillip Law has passed away. I really loved John's films and he made many great ones. I posted a small tribute to the man on my blog at Cinebeats.com

Busy Bee

Between real world responsibilities and job hunting (if anyone knows of any film writing work feel free to drop me a note!) I haven't had much free time lately. I can barely manage to update my site and blog at Cinebeats.com much less keep up with Myspace so my apologies for being MIA of late!

I did want to mention that I recently wrote a lengthy piece called The Mod Musicals of Lance Comfort for Cinebeats which might interest fans of sixties era British pop and rock as well as fans of the late great actor David Hemmings. There's very little information about these films and the director Lance Comfort available anywhere but I hope my write-up will help change that.

Taylor Tribute at Cinebeats!

One of my favorite actresses is Elizabeth Taylor and she made lots of interesting and unusual films in the sixties and seventies. Lately I've been writing about a few of my favorite films that Taylor made after 1966, which were often box office failures and critical disasters, but I find them fascinating films and many were often terribly misunderstood at the time of their release. My Countdown of Top 30 Favorite DVDs of 2007 is underway!

For the second year in a row I'm counting down my Top 30 Favorite DVDs from 2007.

The Rules:
1. All DVD were released in the U.S. in 2007 (NTSC Region 1)
2. All the DVDs feature films that were originally released in the '60s or '70s.
3. Selections are listed alphabetically and without numerical preference (numbers were only added to organize the list).

I recently posted a review of Kazuhiko Yamaguchi's pinky violence film Delinquent Girl Boss - Blossoming Night Dreams (1970) and a small tribute to Doris Day who's receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award this weekend during the 50th Annual Grammy Awards. Please come by and give them a look!

Ringing in the Holidays

Today is the Bloggers Unite "Acts of Kindness" event which I'm taking part in and I wanted to encourage people to feel free to stop by my blog and mention any charities you like to give to during the holidays.

During the "season of sharing" it can be easy to get caught up in the day to day grind and forget about what "sharing" really means. I hope the Bloggers Unite "Acts of Kindness" event will remind people to share with those less fortunate.

I also hope it will encourage people to consider the individual power we each have to promote positive change.
