Cinema Wasteland Update - Last Update Before Show Time!

CINEMA WASTELAND MOVIE & MEMORABILIA EXPO

October 3rd, 4th, and 5th, 2008

Holiday Inn Select - Strongsville, OH. 44136

Check us out at: www.cinemawasteland.com

_________________________________________________________________

September has arrived, and if we got this update out on time, it means that you only have a couple more days to grab a 3-Day Pass to the best rated Drive-In and Grindhouse Movie fan convention running today for only thirty bucks.

With another exceptional Guest List that's once again full of first time show guests, people other conventions would never bother with, and more movies, panels, and events than any other show running today, the October 3-5 Cinema Wasteland Expo is guaranteed to be another once-in-a-lifetime weekend no fan should miss.

Don't delay! Get your advance 3-Day Pass payment in or postmarked by September 5th and everything we offer attending fans for three days is yours for only $30.00 - which is easily worth ten times that amount if you only compare what a Cinema Wasteland show offers to any other horror movie convention out there.

The entire weekend Schedule of Movies and Events will be posted on the web site this week! Since we've always guaranteed every fan through the door more stuff to do in the course of any given day than one person can actually do or attend, it's always a great idea to check out the events schedule before show time and plot your weekend accordingly. Just head over to the FILMS and EVENTS page on the site and you'll see a "click here" at the top of the page that will lead you to a printable weekend schedule.

Let's end things with the last couple of important Cinema Wasteland Movie and Memorabilia Expo reminders before show time:

TICKETS: For everything we offer attending fans, there is no better bargain than an advance ticket to a Cinema Wasteland Show and no better time to plan to be with us than several months ago. No "hidden fees" at a Wasteland show guarantees every fan through the door is treated just like the person standing next to you in line; and your ticket in gets you everything we have to offer except for an autograph from our guests. Order before 9/5/08 and you can get an advance 3-Day Pass for only $30.00. Yes, that was correct: Thirty bucks. Cheap at twice the price if you ask me. You can also save $5.00 on any single day pass ordered in advance before 9/5/08. There is no better way to get your moneys worth than ordering an advance pass and attending a Wasteland weekend.

HOTEL: As of September 1st, the hotel has less than twenty rooms left. And we take up the entire hotel, so that's less than twenty rooms total. You can reserve your room by calling The Holiday Inn direct at (440) 238-8800, or reserve your room on our web site. Just remember to ask for "The Cinema Wasteland rate" in order to save yourself a few bucks over regular room rates, and if you don't say you are with Cinema Wasteland they will tell you they are sold out.

A big Thank You once again to everyone who helped spread the Wasteland word and/or pass out a few fliers and postcards. In this day and age where America is fast becoming a corporate run shit hole and our appointed leaders are nothing more than brain dead whores and greedy right wing millionaire elitists living in a plastic bubble where they spend most of their time blowing strangers in men's rooms across the country, it's important that every horror movie fan out there knows that there is one convention running today where the attending fans are the "elite few" for once. A place where your money goes a little further. A place where we can all gather together for three days and celebrate stuff we enjoy by choice and not by force. A place where fans rule.

The Cinema Wasteland Movie and Memorabilia Expo is that place. And I'll see you all in a few short weeks to enjoy the weekend to its fullest right along with you.

Ken

_________________________________________________________________

August has arrived and summer is in full swing. We've got another great Guest lineup ready to roll for our October show and I'm currently trying to cram a record number of events around the film schedule. Unlike most conventions out there - the majority of which I personally don't think even try to offer attending fans anything for their money - the next Cinema Wasteland show will once again, be one weekend event no fan should miss.

Yes indeed, August has arrived. And with it comes the last few weeks you can order a three day pass for the unheard of price of only $30 and save fifteen bucks over a three day pass at the door. You've only got until September 5th to grab a three day pass for Cinema Wasteland's 14th show, so beg, borrow, or steal whatever you can to cover it... Just don't steal from friends or family. Beg them instead.

Lots of great panels, talks, and events are getting sorted out right now:

Dave Friedman, David Hewitt, and Jeff Lieberman will hopefully be joining 42 Street Pete and the usual misfits for the Grindhouse and Drive-In panel on Saturday. With the wealth of stories these three guys can tell, I wouldn't miss that panel for the world... Wait a minute. I won't. I'm on the panel...

Lamberto Bava and Coralina Cataldi-Tassoni will be doing a talk and Q&A before a DEMONS 2 screening, and Coralina will be presenting THE DIRT, a short film by Simona and Claudio Simonetti (with effects by Sergio Stivaletti) on Friday as part of the Friday Night Short film Block. Might not want to miss either of those.

A. Ghastlee Ghoul is celebrating his 20th year of confusing the masses on Saturday night at 8:00pm, and just like always, it will be a night filled with games, prizes, and free stuff in addition to the usual music, comedy, and mayhem you've come to expect.

As usual, I'm planning on more movies and events than any other show out there offers attending fans, so stay tuned, and check the web site between now and October to see what gets posted. Shouldn't have much of a problem having the entire schedule of events posted by early September so I'll let you know what's up in the next update.

Sadly, there will be no official t-shirt for this show. I apologize to everyone who collects them for not having the time to design and print one for October but fixing up Wasteland World Central seems to be sucking up all of my spare time again these days. No excuses next Spring though. Promise I'll get back on the t-shirt horse and ride if you just cut me one more shows worth of slack.

Let's end things with the usual batch of Cinema Wasteland Movie and Memorabilia Expo reminders before it's too late:

TICKETS: For everything we offer attending fans, there is no better bargain than an advance ticket to a Cinema Wasteland Show and no better time to plan to be with us than right now.

HOTEL: The hotel sold out in record time last show, and with every hotel and motel in the area more than likely raising prices on you by what I hear, I can't imagine it's not a good idea to reserve your room ASAP for October's show. You can reserve your room by calling The Holiday Inn direct at (440) 238-8800, or reserve your room on our web site. Just remember to ask for "The Cinema Wasteland rate of $89 per night" in order to save yourself a few bucks over regular room rates, and DO NOT take the hotel up on any other offers they may mention as that won't help you or us in the long run.

FLIERS and POSTCARDS: Thank you everyone who ask for and passed out a stack of fliers or postcards for the October show. There is still time to spread the word before we get too close to show time, so by all means, just ask and we'll be more than happy to send you a stack of fliers or postcards to pass out. Bars, specialty shops, video stores, tattoo parlors, college campuses, music stores... All good places for Wasteland attendees to hang out. If you frequent any place that you think may be a good place to put a stack of fliers and you'd like to help spread the Wasteland word, then by all means, drop us a line.

OK, that is it for me this time around. Back to hammering, painting, and show planning until we get back on the road again in a couple of weeks.

I'll see you all before you know it. Until then, stay out of the way of crazy religious douchbags who listen to right wing hate radio and carry a shotgun to church. Jesus kills you know and his crazy ass followers seem to get more insane by the day. Thankfully, the Wasteland showers love upon all of its B movie fans... Just bring booze or "recreationals" to the show and leave the shotgun at church.

_________________________________________________________________

News that just can't wait for the August update!...

Gear up for one helluva show this October crew. I just finished off confirming the last of our Fall Show Guests and I can't imagine a better person to round out our 14th Show.

JOHN AMPLAS - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native, John Amplas, would be best known to most fans as the troubled teen who may or may not be a vampire in George Romero's classic MARTIN (1977). He was also "Dr. Ted Fisher" in DAY OF THE DEAD (1985), and appeared in Romero's DAWN OF THE DEAD (1978), and CREEPSHOW (1982). John is new to the whole convention scene so let's show him why Wasteland fans are the best fans out there when he makes a rare appearance at this October's show. And you can catch his complete bio on the web site, naturally.

I also have it on somewhat good authority that writer and director PERICLES LEWNES will be with us in October and stationed at the Troma tables. Lewnes, as many may recall, is the man responsible for the often imitated, yet never duplicated, cult classic REDNECK ZOMBIES (1986).

And speaking of Troma, it seems the long awaited, POULTRYGEIST: Night of the Chicken Dead (2008) is ready to be unleashed upon the world at large. It will be showing in Cleveland October 3-5, 2008 at the Cleveland institute of art's cinematheque. Yep, it's screening over CW's convention weekend and I'm not one to advertise anything that may take people away from the show, but hey, I'm a nice guy and Troma supports us, so I'll mention it for them.

NOW IS A GREAT TIME TO GRAB A STACK OF POSTCARDS OR FLIERS! See my Postcard and Flier blurb below, and help us spread the word. After all, you'd hate to see me shut down the show, right?

OK, that's all of the news not fit to wait until August for. Feel free to check out the Wasteland web site for complete guest bios, along with movies and events as we add them. Once again, it looks like Cinema Wasteland will be leading the pack as far as shows not to miss so gear up, get excited, and by all means, don't forget to order your advance tickets TODAY to get your best price on EVERYTHING we have to offer you come October's show.

Let's end things with the usual batch of Cinema Wasteland Movie and Memorabilia Expo reminders and call the July update history:

TICKETS: For everything we offer attending fans, there is no better bargain than an advance ticket to a Cinema Wasteland Show and no better time to plan to be with us than right now. With prices for damn near everything high, there is no better way to get your moneys worth than attending a Wasteland weekend.

FLIERS and POSTCARDS: Updated fliers and postcards are ready to ship out. If you'd like to help spread the Cinema Wasteland word, right now is a great time to start. And we don't expect you to download one flier off our site and print it off yourself like the cheapskate cons do either. Just say the word and we'll be more than happy to send you a stack of fliers or postcards for the October show to pass out. Bars, specialty shops, video stores, tattoo parlors, college campuses, music stores... All good places for Wasteland attendees to hang out. If you frequent any place that you think may be a good place to put a stack of fliers and you'd like to help spread the Wasteland word, then by all means, get in touch and I'll be more than happy to send off a stack. As always, any help in spreading the word about the show is appreciated and actually helps prevent ticket prices from going up in the long run.

VIDEO FOOTAGE: I'm always looking for any and all footage fans may have shot over the course of the weekend. I'm particularly interested in the panels, guest talks, and Ghastlee's Saturday night live show, but I love to check out whatever anyone shoots at the show. I used to get a lot of footage from people for my personal collection, but it's slowed down greatly over the past couple of years (so I'm really looking for footage from the past three or four shows). We're the only show out there that let's attending fans shoot anywhere they want, so hey, give a little back to the guy who makes it happen for you fans. Our PO Box address is at the bottom of every update we send out...

All kinds of conventions and film festivals going on between now and when we get a break off the road in September. Don't forget to punch up MEET THE WASTELAND on the main web page to see if we'll be attending any shows in your area. After 21 years of growing old, fat, and gray in this business, it's always great to run into Wasteland fans past and present when we're on the road.

Cheers,

Ken

_________________________________________________________________

After spending the month of May outside working around the house and garage, I guess it's time to go back to work...

The show's Guest page is up-to-date. Chock full of new faces, as well as a couple returning fan favorites, I think we've got another great batch of guests lined up for October's show. Head on over to the Guest Page and see if you don't agree with me.

I've also posted half a dozen new films we'll be screening at the next show, along with a few event graphics. Some good stuff to look forward to on the Films and Events page as well, so be sure to check it over after you punch up the guest page.

Cinema Wasteland's resident horror host, A. Ghastlee Ghoul, will be celebrating his 20th anniversary this October. If you need a Ghastlee fix before the next Wasteland Show, don't miss A. Ghastlee Ghoul's Splattertude Radio where you can catch yours truly doing his thing with The Wasteland Blues Block. New shows every week at: www.splattertude.com

It's time for us here to get on the road again. We've trimmed a couple of conventions from our schedule this year, but there are still more than enough cons, festivals, and shows to go around this season. Why not punch up MEET THE WASTELAND on the main web page to see if we'll be in your area any time this summer.

Looks like that's all I have for this month, so let's end things with the usual batch of Cinema Wasteland Movie and Memorabilia Expo reminders:

TICKETS: For everything we offer attending fans, there is no better bargain than an advance ticket to a Cinema Wasteland Show and no better time to plan to be with us than right now. No "hidden fees" at a Wasteland show guarantees every fan through the door is treated just like the person standing next to you in line; and your ticket in gets you everything we have to offer except for an autograph from our guests. You can also save $5.00 on any single day pass ordered in advance before 9/5/08. With prices for damn near everything high and the shaved monkey's economy in the toilet, there is no better way to get your moneys worth than attending a Wasteland weekend.

Our PO Box address is at the bottom of every update we send out...

That's it for this time around. If I don't see you during our June travels, then I'll catch you next update.

Cheers,

Ken

_________________________________________________________________

May has arrived, and with it comes... house work! Yes indeed, now that I have a handle on the October show and the month of May off the road, I'm heading outside to work around the house while I actually have half a chance.

Still, even with a short May update, I always have good news to report when it comes to the next Cinema Wasteland show!

We updated the site since the last show and you can find the October guest list as it stands right now, complete with my usual guest bios, all posted on the site right now. You'll also find a movie or two posted and updates to most sections of the site, so feel free to give things a look over when you get a minute.

We've got another great guest list for October's show already posted, but I do have a new, first time guest, to announce for October's show I haven't as yet posted:

DAVID L. HEWITT - Writer, producer, director, visual and special effects man. Dave Hewitt has done it all in his career. He started out in zero budget films, directing movies like, WIZARD OF MARS (1965), MONSTERS CRASH THE PAJAMA PARTY (1965), DR. TERROR'S GALLERY OF HORRORS (1967) and THE MIGHTY GORGA (1969). With his visual effects and special effects work, he graduated to somewhat better films, working on stuff like, THE KINDRED (1987), SUPERMAN 4 (1987), and HONEY I SHRUNK THE KIDS (1989) to name a few.

As stated, Dave has never done a movie convention of any type before, so he'll be making his first ever appearance in October and is excited to be a part of the show. I'll have him posted on the site in the next couple of weeks.

I need to work on a couple graphics for the October show, but fans of our annual Saturday night "A Ghastlee Nite at the Movies" live event can help host, A. Ghastlee Ghoul, celebrate his 20th Anniversary with another night of music, comedy, games, and prizes. Much audience mayhem, as always, is guaranteed!

That seems like all I have for now, so let's go with the usual reminders to end things with this time around:

TICKETS:  For everything we offer attending fans, there is no better bargain than an advance ticket to a Cinema Wasteland Show and no better time to plan to be with us than right now. No "hidden fees" at a Wasteland show guarantees every fan through the door is treated just like the person standing next to you in line; and your ticket in gets you everything we have to offer except for an autograph from our guests. Order before 9/5/08 and you can get an advance 3-Day Pass for only $30.00. Yes, that was correct: Thirty bucks. Cheap at twice the price if you ask me. You can also save $5.00 on any single day pass ordered in advance before 9/5/08 and five bucks is more than enough to grab yourself a cold beer from the bar, leave your bartender a tip, and still have a buck left in your pocket when you think about it.

Just remember to ask for "The Cinema Wasteland rate" in order to save yourself a few bucks over regular room rates, and DO NOT take the hotel up on any other offers they may mention as that won't help you or us in the long run.

FLIERS and POSTCARDS:  I expect to have updated fliers and postcards available in June for anybody who wants some to pass around. I'll be sure to let you know when they are ready, and I'll thank you all now for helping to spread the Wasteland word.

VIDEO FOOTAGE:  I'm looking for any and all footage you fans may have shot over the course of the weekend.

HEY, since saving it or using it to pay off a bill is totally un-American, are you looking for a place to spend all of that commie money the shaved monkey failure borrowed from China to give to us peasants?! If you spend it at Crap-Mart, it just goes back to China. Buy gas and it supports terrorists. Buy food and don't look at packaging and it goes to South America. Don't need to pay bills with it and really want to keep it in America? Then you can always buy yourself a big ol' bag of weed with it, purchase a few gallons of good ol' american bourbon, or you can spend it with a company who can really use a few bucks during a slow time to pay its bills - us! We've got a ton of stuff listed on our site for sale right now, so by all means, take a look at the merchandise section of the web site and see if something you can't live without doesn't jump out at you.

OK, I think I covered everything that was on my mind this time out? I usually look forward to the six or eight weeks after any given show so I can take it easy for a time and just fill out the guest list before I get in the swing of actually having to really work on the next show. This time out is no different, so I'll catch you all next month.

Last weekend's lucky 13th installment of the Cinema Wasteland Movie and
Memorabilia Expo is now just another fond memory for me and 2,000 fans
and friends. I was feeling a bit under the weather with a lingering flu
bug all weekend, so my sincere thanks goes out to the Wasteland staff
for doing another great job, as well as every fan attending; for making
this not just one of our best shows to date, but fun for sickly ol' me
as well all weekend. After 21 years in this business, I never actually
see all that many convention promoters having a good time at their own
shows, but that never seems to be the case with me. I always have a
great time presenting the show right along with every fan who walks
through the door to enjoy it, and I thank you all for another terrific
time.

Never one to rest on the success of any past shows, I've got the
makings of another great time all set to go for the annual October
Show!

I'll be finishing off the Guest List during the month of April so be
sure to check the web site in the next couple of weeks. But for all of
you who didn't make the show this past weekend to grab an advance
flier, check out who we've got confirmed for October so far:

Our European Horror Fest continues with -

LAMBERTO BAVA - Not just the son of legendary Italian director Mario
Bava, but a damn fine director and screenwriter himself. Mr. Bava
wasn't even on our advance flier at last week's show, so let the buzz
begin! Demons, Demons 2, Macabre, A Blade in the Dark, Ghost Son, etc.

CINZIA MONREALE - "Emily" the blind girl in Lucio Fulci's The Beyond.
Also in D'amato's Beyond the Darkness, Argento's Stendhal Syndrome and
many others.

CORALINA CATALDI-TASSONI - Our old friend Coralina hasn't been with us
since she made her first convention appearance ever at a CW show a few
years back. You can find her in Bava's Demons 2 and Ghost Son,
Argento's Opera, Phantom of the Opera, Mother of Tears... and More.

JOHN SAXON - Sure Mr. Saxon is an A list actor with a ton of great
films under his belt and we couldn't be happier he accepted our
invitation. He also did several good Italian horror films and worked
with some well known director's. He was in Dario Argento's Tenebrae,
Margheritti's Cannibal Apocalypse, Bava's The Evil Eye, Castellari's
One Dollar Too Many... Yeah, he was in stuff like A Nightmare on Elm
Street too, but any Wasteland fan worth a salt knows he was in some far
better Drive-In movies than just Elm Street, right?

>From FRIDAY THE 13th, we have joining us -

BETSY PALMER - The original Friday the 13th killer makes her return to
Cinema Wasteland this October. She just loves her Wasteland fans!

ADRIENNE KING - The survivor of Friday the 13th made her way back for
Friday the 13th Part 2, and will be making her first Wasteland
appearance in October.

KANE HODDER - The fan favorite "Jason" from Friday the 13th Parts 7, 8,
9, and 10 is looking forward to catching up with Wasteland fans in six
months.

And you can always count on first time guests as well as a couple
returning fan favorites at every show we run -

MICHAEL BERRYMAN - Fan favorite star of Hills Have Eyes 1 and 2, One
Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Devil's Rejects and Ed Gein (with Kane
Hodder) returns this Fall.

MARILYN CHAMBERS - "Adult" film legend and actress. David Cronenberg's
Rabid, Angel of H.E.A.T., Up 'N Coming, as well as Behind the Green
Door, Insatiable, etc.

LLOYD KAUFMAN - Troma's head honcho loves his Cleveland fans for some
unknown reason, and promises a return trip in October '08.

ALLAN KOLMAN MIGICOVSKY - First convention appearance. David
Cronenberg's They Came From Within (aka Shivers), Roger Vadim's The Hot
Touch, Scanner Cop 4, and tons of TV work.

TOM SULLIVAN - Amongst his other achievements, The Evil Dead 1 and 2
effects man and animator is family to us here at Cinema Wasteland and
the show wouldn't be the same without him.

I'm going to try to flush out the guest list in the next few weeks, so
stay tuned to see who else we add to October's Guest lineup.

Other things to look forward to this October include -

Fans of our annual Saturday night "A Ghastlee Nite at the Movies" live
event can help host, A. Ghastlee Ghoul, celebrate his 20th Anniversary
with another night of music, comedy, games, and prizes. Much audience
mayhem, as always, is guaranteed!

And naturally, we'll have all of the guest talks, panels, and movies
you've come to expect from every show we run.

If you need a Ghastlee fix before next October, don't miss A. Ghastlee
Ghoul's Splattertude radio show on Cult Radio a Go-Go
(cultradioagogo.com) where you can catch yours truly doing his thing
with The Wasteland Blues Block every Saturday night as part of the
Splattertude show.

And we have the usual reminders to end things with:

TICKETS: For everything we offer attending fans, there is no better
bargain than an advance ticket to a Cinema Wasteland Show and no better
time to plan to be with us than right now. No "hidden fees" at a
Wasteland show guarantees every fan through the door is treated just
like the person standing next to you in line; and your ticket in gets
you everything we have to offer except for an autograph from our
guests. Order before 9/5/08 and you can get an advance 3-Day Pass for
only $30.00. Yes, that was correct: Thirty bucks. Cheap at twice the
price if you ask me. You can also save $5.00 on any single day pass
ordered in advance before 9/5/08 and five bucks is more than enough to
grab yourself a cold beer from the bar, leave your bartender a tip, and
still have a buck left in your pocket when you think about it.

HOTEL: The hotel sold out in record time last show, and with every
hotel and motel in the area more than likely raising prices on you by
what I hear, I can't imagine it's not a good idea to reserve your room
ASAP for October's show. You can reserve your room by calling The
Holiday Inn direct at (440) 238-8800, or reserve your room on our web
site. Just remember to ask for "The Cinema Wasteland rate" in order to
save yourself a few bucks over regular room rates, and DO NOT take the
hotel up on any other offers they may mention as that won't help you or
us in the long run.

VIDEO FOOTAGE: I'm looking for any and all footage you fans may have
shot over the course of the weekend. I'm particularly interested in the
panels, guest talks, and Ghastlee's Saturday night live show, but I
love to check out whatever anyone shoots at the show. I used to get a
lot of footage from people for my personal collection, but it's slowed
down greatly over the past couple of years (so I'm really looking for
footage from the past three or four shows). We're the only show out
there that let's attending fans shoot anywhere they want, so hey, give
a little back to the guy who makes it happen for you fans. Our PO Box
address is at the bottom of every update we send out...

OK, I think that's it for this time around. Again, I'd just like to
thank everyone who made it out to last weekend's show and had
themselves a good time right along with me and the Wasteland staff. It
really means a lot to everyone involved that so many people think so
highly of our little drive-in movie show.

I'll catch you all next month with further news on October's show,

Ken

January 2008 Spring Show Update!

CINEMA WASTELAND MOVIE & MEMORABILIA EXPO
April 4th, 5th and 6th, 2008
Holiday Inn Select - Strongsville, OH. 44136
Check us out at: www.cinemawasteland.com
_________________________________________________________________

It never fails. I sit at the computer and try to stay at least
semi-sober while typing the monthly update. Then, within days of
sending the thing out, cool news I could have mentioned comes in.
Normally I'm too lazy to send out a second update and just wait until
the next month to mention news that arrives after I send out the
current update. This month I just can't wait until February, and I
think you'll agree that the news is worth another email clogging up
your inbox.

First off, joining Giovanni Lombardo Radice as the second half of our
Euro-Horror Celebration, we have...

CATRIONA MacCOLL - London born Catriona MacColl will no doubt be best
remembered by Wasteland fans for her starring roles in three Lucio
Fulci horror classics: CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD (1980) aka The Gates of
Hell, where she stars along with fellow Wasteland guest Giovanni
Lombardo Radice, THE BEYOND (1980), and THE HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY
(1981). And even though that's more than enough European Drive-In
horror movie film credits to get most fans excited, you can also find
her in other fan favorite cult films like HAWK THE SLAYER (1980), MAN
EATERS (1988) and AFRAID OF THE DARK (1991), as well as a whole slew of
television appearances and non-horror type roles. Cinema Wasteland will
be her first ever show appearance in the USA and I couldn't be happier
to have her joining Giovanni for the occasion.

Secondly, I apologize because I forgot to put him up on the site last
month even though I knew he'd be here...

STEPHEN BLICKENSTAFF - I like to call Steven Blickenstaff a "monster
artist" because his style reminds me so much of the great underground
stuff you would see in classic 50's and 60's comix and on posters of
the same era. Steve has done album covers for bands like The Cramps,
(where he did the Bad Music For Bad People cover.) He designed a couple
covers for the Thin White Ropes as well as a few for Our American
Cousins. You can find Steve's work in magazines, on T-Shirts, and in
gallery showings. Steve will have some original paintings and drawings,
as well as some prints available at the show so be sure to stop over
and check out some of his work. He just might have a piece of art with
your name on it waiting for you.

And last, but certainly not least...

GLEN COBURN - Glen wrote, directed, and costarred in the low budget
sci-fi / horror cult film, BLOODSUCKERS FROM OUTER SPACE (1984) as well
as the anthology comedy, TABLOID (1985); a couple of regional rarities
shot in Texas in the mid-80's that made their mark on video during the
rental store heyday of the 80's and early 90's. The rights to his
aliens-turn-farmers-into-zombies feature, BLOODSUCKERS FROM OUTER
SPACE, recently returned back to him and he's putting the film out on
DVD this Spring. What better way is there to celebrate the glory days
of independent horror cinema than with a Wasteland screening and Q&A
this April? All we need to do now is figure out whether we want to
screen the film on actual 16mm film or on DVD projection come show
time. We'll let Glen pick which format he wants to screen his film and
give him plenty of time for a Q&A after the screening this April, so be
sure to check the schedule and grab a seat early as it's bound to be
another standing room only event come show time.

As always, check the web site over the next few weeks as I continue to
add films, events, and finish off the April guest list.

Last update I mentioned A. Ghastlee Ghoul's Splattertude radio show on
Cult Radio a Go-Go. If you tried to navigate the web site and gave up
so you could go off in search of a hand gun to shoot your computer
with, have no fear. Just head to Ghastlee's radio show page and he'll
take care of you as far as when his show is one etc:
http://www.myspace.com/splattertuderadio

And we have the usual reminders to end things with:

FLIERS, POSTCARDS and T-SHIRTS: Fliers are ready to go. If you can use
a stack of fliers for the April show, then just say the word and I'll
mail some right out to you. Postcards should be ready to mail out
within the next week. If postcards are preferred, then just say the
word and I'll mail them out when ready. As always, we appreciate any
and all help in getting the word out. Once again, it's not looking so
good for a t-shirt for the Spring show. Just too damn busy to get any
artwork done again. Naturally things can change and I do have a few
weeks to figure out what is what so I'll know more next month.

TICKETS: For everything we offer attending fans, there is no better
bargain than an advance ticket to a Cinema Wasteland Show and no better
time to plan to be with us than right now. No "hidden fees" at a
Wasteland show guarantees every fan through the door is treated just
like the person standing next to you in line; and your ticket in gets
you everything we have to offer except for an autograph from our
guests. Order before 3/7/08 and you can get an advance 3-Day Pass for
only $30.00. Yes, that was correct: Thirty bucks. Cheap at twice the
price if you ask me. You can also save $5.00 on any single day pass
ordered in advance before 3/7/08 and five bucks is more than enough to
grab yourself a cold beer from the bar, leave your bartender a tip, and
still have a buck left in your pocket when you think about it.

HOTEL: One thing you can always count on is that the hotel will be
sold out by show time. Avoid the headache of having to stay down the
road by making your room reservations today. You can call the Holiday
Inn Select direct at 440-238-8800 to make your room reservations, or
you can make your reservations from our web site. As always, just let
the hotel know you are with the Cinema Wasteland Expo to save a few
bucks off normal rates, and DO NOT take them up on any kind of "special
offers" as you'll end up paying more in the long run and we won't get
credit for your room in our block. And take any room available. There
are only a few smoking rooms and no matter what they tell you, it's
"first come, first served" as to who gets one. Don't bitch. No need to
whine. Why get drunk and act stupid just because you arrived late and
missed out on a smoking room? Just remember the magic word: Fabreeze.
It's cheap. It's easy. It works. Don't leave home without it.

OK, that's it for me this time around. I'm off to enjoy the warm sunny
days of Northern Ohio in January thanks to global warming before the
end of the world arrives. Catch you again in a few short weeks.
