Highland Games...

Woooo!! I LOVE Scotland....I'll try & keep it to just pictures otherwise I'll just waflle on about every single thing that happend! aha It was an amazing time..

First stop was Yorkshire...

Also while we were in yorkshire Clairey took me to this really interesting pub! I've never seen so many animal faces staring at me from the walls, nearly every animals head you could think of was hanging on the wall!! & there was allsorts of bits & bobs hanging up. There was also a real back end of a fox and the man would press something and water squirted from the foxes bum! here it is...

Our hostel was only £10 each for the night and we had a tv and a kitchen to ourselves!!! so to celebrate we sat & watched good ole Bill Oddie on spring watch.. I love Bloddie.

Next day we headed to SCOTLAND, where we stayed in a hostel on LOCH NESS. This was our view from our window...

I kept my soup cans in my converse hahaha...
This hostel was amazing, we met a woman called Brenda who was scottish but lived in south Carolina. We also met an oz mother & daughter and they were telling us about how they kill cane toads by putting them in their fridge!

We went down to the bank of Loch ness at about midnight but didn't see nessie

Next stop was FORT WILLIAM, the views on the journey there were amazing! We took some pics of Ben Nevis from Corpach..

We stayed at Fort William backpackers, it was such a cool hostel.. we met a portugeuse french fella who climbed ben nevis in 5 hours!! I definitely prefer hostels to b&b's.

CLIMBING BEN NEVIS....It was one of the most intense things I've ever done! 4406ft in an embarrassingly 10 hours  we didn't bring enough food but we got given a pack of marshmellows and 2 mars bars, the kindness of strangers eh? I was scared twice- the first time was when we had run out of food and my legs were shaking uncontrollably because I had no energy & we still had an hour to go! & the second time was when we came down the wrong way   There was snow on top!!!!!!

We brought up a miniture ben nevis whisky and drunk it on top!!! haha, it warmed the cockles...

Got back to the hostel & had an indian takaway

The next day it felt like I had the flu, I ached BAD!! We went to a place called GLENCOE which is truly an amazing sight, I think I want to live there.. we saw some highland cows too!

We moved onto our next abode & it was run by this mad irish woman called Sadie, she scared me! she was a 63 yr old  woman and would talk to us about how she's always wanted a threesome & how she listens to people having sex while we were eating our breakfast!!! her sister was staying with her and was equally mad, soo glad there was a lock on our door HAHA.

We went out two nights in Fort William and got rather drunk  We met some nice Scottish fellas, one of which was very VERY nice indeed...

We went on quite a long walk around Glen Nevis the next day and came across something quite weird in the wood by Ben Nevis... A Teddy bears picnic.. all these bears and cuddley toys nailed to logs with tea sets and stuff.. it was a bit eerie.

Our last night in Fort William was great, got very drunk and erm... stuff

Woke up feeling like DEATH.. we had to drive to the lake district & we only had an hours sleep!!! we drove through Glencoe again, I didn't want to leave. We stopped for a nap in a welcome break.

We got to the lake district at about 6 & found a cool hostel, we went walking around and paddled in this beautiful lake.. these little fish kept sucking on my feet, felt like I was getting a pedicure..heehee

walked back in my incredibly wet converse because I had got them wet going through the long grass  we also went through this creepy gravyard which had weird signs on the gravestones...After that we just had tea in the hostel lounge and went to bed..

Next day we returned home..  yup.. back in Essex.
I could go on and on and on...but it's already taken me bloody ages to get this far, I'll put more pics on my flickr account...

See you soon scotland! Aye..

x

Reading Festival 2006

Wow, this Reading fest was the best yet! I met some lovely people, saw some amazing bands and found out too much Amonia makes me sneeze!...

Got there at 1pm thursday and had to park in the car park furthest away which meant with all our stuff we had to queue for 2 hours for a boat to cross the river then find somewhere to camp! didnt take much convincing for me to crack open a strongbow let me tell you...We stayed put while the boys found a space  We had to make another trip across the river at midnight to collect the rest of our stuff. A stranger gave me a beer..so I had beer, the stars were out & we were sailing down the Thames...felt brill.

FRIDAY... Woke up early & went to the signing tent & got signed by PEACHES. I think I scared her abit though because when I'm nervous I put on a cockney accent haha. GOGOL BORDELLO were the most amazing band I've ever seen. PEACHES show was saucy as always, she stripped & crowd surfed over me in her underwear, I like her hairy armpits  Bought some lovely vintage tops & started an obsession with caramelized peanuts. HOWLING BELLS were heavenly.
We found an excellent toilet in a bush & on one occasion I fell down a hole mid pee & I pulled down claires shorts in the process because I was holding onto her..haha...I now have an impressive barbed wire wound on my leg..ouch.

SATURDAY... THE FALL nearly sent me to sleep so I watched the top of the tent instead. CLAP YOUR HANDS SAY YEAH were great except for the sound guy clearly not doing his job properly.
Got right to the front barrier for ARCHIE BRONSON OUTFIT, brilliant band, look out for them! 'band of nod' came on with 14 members playing acoustic guitars during a song all with masks on, I was drunk by this point so I was abit freaked out. Afterwards we watched strippers in the caberat tent

SUNDAY... DRESDEN DOLLS have got a new fan, me! I enjoyed them alot. We sat down to eat noodles when Placebo came on & I realised then that I still hold a grudge against brian molko because I heaved haha.
ANIMAL COLLECTIVE headlined the carling stage...Oh my oh my! I cried. Afterwards when they were packing their own gear away! I went over & thanked them, they smiled at me and nodded which made me melt to the ground. We saw a bit of Pearl Jam.
Stayed up under the guzeebo with friends, a fire, guitar, songs, sleeping bags & the occasional random person that stopped by to say hello.

I will stop typing now. If I write down every little thing that made this reading fest very special I will be here all day! Thank you for reading & i'll put up pics very very sooon.

Alton Towers & other foolery...

Yes its only been 6 months since we last went but we cant keep away from that darn place! I will let the pictures explain what a good time we had, reading me go on is boring.

This is where we stayed.. haha, not really! its alton castle. We found some underground tunnels as well, they were spooky with big spiders.

Spooky one I took at the castle..

We stayed in the same b&b as before, the full english breakfast is divine but my tum was in a bad way for a day

Heres some pics of Alton Towers & around the gardens, cant belive I didnt take any of the rides..

I found my new boyfriend, stoney mcstoney...

We ate pot noodles & bourbons everynight & watched springwatch with bill oddie, didnt have the effort to go into Stoke & party it up afterwards.. we're like old girls.. Bill Oddie is enough for us nowadays.

It was sad going  but we took a de tour on the way home & went to frinton, we swam in sea & I got sand in my knickers! Claire was wise & bought dry clothes, me being not very wise didnt so I was like a wet rat for rest of the day!

Rides were great..Oblivion still scares the shit out of me but I love it soo much! Amazing time. The End.
