A week to remember with David Lynch and Donovan
Current mood: blessed

Bliss...bliss, and love. These are the exact two words to describe my present state of soul.
I shared the stage with Donovan, Linda and David Lynch. Not only did I share the same space with them, I performed, we performed.
Meeting two phenomenally talented artists in itself is a very cool thing, but that alone would not account for the quietness I feel within. Moments shared between human beings and the energy arisen from them, can.
In a gymnasium in the city of Belo Horizonte, a remarkable stand was made this week to 4,000 humans; to install Transcendental Meditation in all schools. I myself will be taking the course over the weekend as promised to the both of them and am left anticipating what new pathways I will find in myself.
Moments.... To me, that is what life is about and for chemistry to exist, if not only for one day, it is a truly beautiful thing.

I don't feel like talking, I don't feel like playing or watching tv... I just want to breathe, exist, silent....

Claudia Albuquerque & 7CITIES

A mistura de diferentes ingredientes em uma receita é o que a torna única. Desta mesma idéia e proposta nasce o projeto entre Claudia Albuquerque e a banda 7CITIES.

Cidadãos do mundo, sem raízes fincadas em um só lugar. Claudia Albuquerque nasceu na Suécia e viveu em países como Espanha, Irã, Singapura, Inglaterra, EUA e Brasil; Felipe A. Aukay (7CITIES) nasceu no Brasil e também teve uma longa experiência tendo vivido no Canadá, Grécia e França; e Gus Potenza (7CITIES) mesmo tendo vivido toda sua vida no Brasil tem encravado em sua alma a experiência de diversas culturas com destaque para as mais brasileiras possíveis, Indígena e Caiçara.

Toda essa miscigenação de culturas, artes, gostos, temperos e folclores só poderia resultar em uma arte para os que estão dispostos a ouvir o novo, o diferente, sem pré-conceitos e nem valores impostos pelo mercado.

Adotando como base o tradicional formato de banda Rock/Pop-Rock, os artistas são acompanhados por músicos que condizem com a proposta e que trazem ainda mais brilho e tempero à essa mistura: Marcelo "Mark D" Dinis (guitarra/violão), Benigno Sobral Jr (contrabaixo), Flávio XXXXXX (teclado) e Marcell Cardoso (bateria).

Claudia Albuquerque lança seu primeiro CD, "Music Freedom", que já foi bem recebido por mais de 50.000 pessoas em um emocionante show em homenagem às crianças do Hospital do Câncer de Barretos além de ter sido convidada para integrar a trilha sonora do filme inglês "Love me Still".

7CITIES também lança seu primeiro disco, "7CITIES", após o sucesso em toda América Latina com seu primeiro clipe, "Little Town", e retorna às telinhas com seu segundo clipe "Monde Absent" além da recente campanha para a Mastercard e o convite para integrar a trilha sonora do filme brasileiro "Legion".

São duas bandas no começo de suas carreiras. Artistas quebrando a barreira do idioma e excursionando mundo afora, em busca de mais e mais temperos para poder trazer mais e mais sabor a você que está disposto a se aventurar pelo novo!

A night away..

Hellooo dearest world!!
What a long time. I think I blogged so much last year that I got tapped out for a while! haha
Tomorrow is my Pre-Release show which originally started off as a much smaller affair than it has become.
I wonder what it will be like...you can organize everything perfectly but only the moment will portray both the result and the outcome.
Once again, I have chosen to not choreograph every second. That in itself produces an overload of butterflies bouncing at the walls of my stomach just waiting to be released. What colour and shape they will form once freed tomorrow on stage I haven't the faintest idea. All I can wish for is freedom. Much easier said than done when a certain amount of self consciousness floats in together with a dab of seeking perfection! Release...let go....Yes, indeed.
I must say, as my stomach continues to tense, that I am so excited. It's been too long I've been in the safe zone and it's about time to stir things up a little!

Can’t sleep

It is nuts.
For what I sometimes forget, the universe definately has a firm way of reminding me: there is a certain timing for things to happen independent of how hard you work to achieve your goals and dreams, and I don't seem to have the faintest clue of how that timing works. All I know is that when I think things will happen, they don't. And when I am going through the every day to do lists I create for the pleasure of ticking the items off as they are accomplished, boom...all of a sudden everything seems to start fitting in together. A show has come up. And from this show, a number of very cool opportunities. Excitement, anxiety...and now it is 3:43am and I cannot sleep for the amount of things to be overseen so the event is as big as we plan it to be.
More to come....
How are you all on the other hand, people from near and people from afar??

What a long time!

What a massively long time since I posted! Helloooooo!
Well, truth be told I don..t have buckets of news to spread but I can say that since last time, I have:
- turned mega blonde heheh Very fun but there..s still something in me which always desires change so who knows for how long this will last.
- written 3 new songs this week being that one of them I started messing around with arrangments which was very fun. The others too though, as it was only this week I got the thumbs up to start singing again which has been glorious. Yesterday it poured, one of those perfect days where you can feel the cold air passing under the doors, a darkness and I was just bubbling with unspoken emotions which mingled with the weather, poured out like fine wine.
- broken 4 ribs. It..s the first time I..ve actually broken anything but all is cool and next week, I intend to start climbing again which Im really looking forward to.
- OH, exciting news....I am planning to do a video clip. This small bit of news is the cause of tonnes of excitement now a days. I have been researching people and meeting with directors and just the idea of it is just toooo cool. I believe I have found the right people. There will definately be more news posted on this subject.
- ...what else....I..m having the english version of my website done which is cool. Cant wait to hear what you all think, needless to stay I love it:)
Lalala...I think I will end on that note.

For all of you who read this, THIS sunday is the release of the new 7 Cities video called Monde Absent. If you aren..t yet acquainted, they are on my top friends and they are just too, TOOOO good.

Back on the up

Hello people of light!
I have been feeling rather in the dark the last couple of days. On the one hand, it is completely unfair to even go there as I just got back from a fabulous snowboarding trip with my whole family - excellent snow, excellent company. Lots of exciting opportunities going on. Heart is pounding.
But these things seem to happen independent of what is actually going on externally; internally, call it moody, hormonal or just the earths way of keeping you in balance, I was smack in the middle of troubled times when today, as the house was quiet, I wrote my first new song post operation and sang away.
To sing. To release the voice weaving melodies in and out of intermittent chords freely, what bliss. I know that I have to take it easy until the end of the month, but as I heard my voice coming back crystal clear, I could not help but let it out. What a great feeling. I am sure I will be made to keep quiet for a day to compensate.
When a child is born, the first thing the aboriginees do is sing the small young one his own personal song. That particular melody exists only for that person and throughout their life, they will be sung that tune to remind them of who they are in their essence, to celebrate, to teach. What would yours be? What would mine be?
It's also a known fact music has the power to heal. Today, it did.
