I know that sounds like an incrimination, but it's actually an announcement for my new short film, which will make it's regional debut on November 8th (Sat, Nov 8th at 10pm) at the Angelika Film Center.

Well, here's the direct feed for the redux edit of the KIDDO! scene previously blogged about. It's tighter, even tighter than the Vimeo version. I really need to stop dicking around with this and get some real work done.
Hey guys, Kiddo (my latest no-budget feature) has its first scene up on my main youtube page. It's the long version of the scene, but I think it's pretty funny.
Everybody go check it out. Rate it. Comment on it. Whatever. Youtube away!!!

Also, I started a film blog to keep track of various productions. There are PHOTOS from the shoot uploaded. Check it here...
New for ’08! The INTERNET! A marvel of future technology!
So, seeing as it's a new year and all, I decided to give a formal blog a shot. Not so much to shoot my mouth off about politics and recipes or whatever. Really just to track the progress on several film projects.
The first of which is my latest directorial effort, KIDDO! The story of a child actor going through his mid-life crisis at 13. Whee! Anyway, you can check out the slowly burgeoning bloggy thing here...

Also, I will be posting clips and assorted whatnots on my youtube site! Look how inter-web savvy I am! Check it, before you wreck it....HERE!!!!
Well it's about friggin time. I just finished a new short film written and directed by myself, and starring Nick Gibbons (Aqua Rangers, The FNGR), Chris Gardner (Blood on the Highway) and Amber Bordelon (A Four Course Meal).
The film is called THE STRANGER. I won't tell you exactly what it's about, but if you're a fan of Albert Camus and chronic masturbation, you're in good company.
And we already have our first festival!
Our PREMIERE SCREENING as at the Lone Star Film Festival. Thursday, November 8th at 5:30pm. Part of the Texas DIY Shorts Block at the Four Day Weekend Theatre in Fort Worth.
Hope to see you there. We'll be there ready to shake hands with you after the film (although you may not want to shake hands with us, once you see the flick).
Also in the block are short films from David Lowery and James Johnston (GDMF, which I also shot).
So F'ing bummed out!

So, this is an open letter to all influential post-war avant-garde European filmmakers. GET TO THE DOCTOR FOR A CHECK UP, STAT!!!
So, we lose Bergman yesterday. Antonioni today! Who's next? It's a good thing Truffaut's dead, 'cause he'd be next. And Feliini's long gone. Claude Chabrol, me suspects your number may be up. Godard, take some vitamins, man! Why can't this shit happen to Uwe Boll? Or at least Peter Hyams (although he's not European).
This is, of course, coming on the heels of another sad death. That of the great cinematographer, László Kovács (Easy Rider).
Normally this kind of stuff doesn't get to me. I mean all these guys had amazing, full lives. It's just too many, too soon. I think it's important (personally) to note that (arguably) one of Antonioni's least important films, Zabriskie Point, was very influential in my desire to make certain stylistic choices outside the standard American-Hollywood arena. He proved to me that you could take a genre story (or in this case, a story with genre elements--ie police/political intrigue) and make it something grander, something more original than its source material.
Anyway, nothing more to say. Only bummed. I'll get over it. At least we still have Brett Ratner and Michael Bay. Gag.
Seriously, please don't die Godard. Not until you make another Lemmy Caution flick.
