I guess I was about thirteen years old when I started to learn how to play the guitar. You know it's funny, I didn't know it at the time but those first chords changed my life forever, sending me on an incredible journey. Music is like having a best friend that's always there for you. It's such an important part of who I am that I honestly can't imagine my life without it.
This summer we've had the privilege of sharing the stage with two of our favorite bands; Live and Blues Traveler. To start the show off every night we have also had the absolute joy of hearing the amazing voice of Hana Pestle. What a talent! It's been so much fun and so cool to be around such great musicians. Now we're on the home stretch as they say, and I want to tell you about something we're very excited about. Collective Soul and MJ Guitars want to raise money for the VH-1 Save The Music Foundation. At the end of the tour we will be auctioning off a beautiful MJ "Montana" model guitar that Mark Johnson himself has so graciously donated. This is the same guitar I have been playing all summer long starting with the first show at Red Rocks amphitheatre in Colorado and ending in our hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. I have to tell you that this guitar is awesome and I'm really going to hate letting it go! So whoever has the winning bid will not only get an incredible instrument but also the extraordinary feeling of contributing to a great cause. It really doesn't matter if you're a player or a collector - by participating you can help give the gift of music to our kids.
