it seems rather appropriate to wind things down from the Four Agreements and end up at the Fourth of July. the thing about the Four Agreements is that it is simple, and yet, complex. on July 4th, 1776 the Continental Congress adopted the final draft of the Declaration of Independence. a document that was also simple and yet, complex. both the Four Agreements and the Declaration of Independence carry the same essence, freedom and how to obtain it. a freedom to become who we truly are, as individuals, and as a nation. we may not always agree on how these things should happen, but we can all agree that every single person is deserving. by keeping these basic principles and ideals in mind, we can find a way to achieve it. regardless of race, gender, culture, religion, sexuality or any other way we choose to separate ourselves, deep down we all wish for the same things. happiness. safety. food. family. shelter. love. somehow, we all have to find a way to do that without denying it to others. so, have a happy and safe Fourth of July, and let the fireworks start the celebration of our next journey together as a colony.
