top 10 unintentionally worst company URLs
Current mood: amused

Not sure if you've seen this, but I caught a link to it somewhere.  I'm just copy and paste reposting it in case the link goes stale.  A couple of the sites might be down already after this was originally posted, but most are still around.  Cracks my shit up.

1. A site called 'Who Represents' where you can find the name of the agent that represents a celebrity. Their domain name… wait for it… is
www.whorepresents.com

2. Experts Exchange, a knowledge base where programmers can exchange advice and views at
www.expertsexchange.com

3. Looking for a pen? Look no further than Pen Island at
www.penisland.net

4. Need a therapist? Try Therapist Finder at
www.therapistfinder.com

5. Then of course, there's the Italian Power Generator company…
www.powergenitalia.com

6. And now, we have the Mole Station Native Nursery, based in New South Wales:
www.molestationnursery.com

7. If you're looking for computer software, there's always
www.ipanywhere.com

8. Welcome to the city of Cumming, GA's First United Methodist Church. Their website is
www.cummingfirst.com

9. Remember, we're art designers, not
www.speedofart.com

10. Want to holiday in Lake Tahoe? Try their brochure website at
www.gotahoe.com

Pachelbel - 350+ years of hits

Years ago, let's say 7 years or so, I began noticing how quite a few pop songs were centered around the chord changes in Pachelbel's Canon in D.  I did some internet searching to try to find a list of such songs, but to no avail.  I spent more time than I'd care to admit listening to songs trying to pick some of these out.  I came up with about six and gave up, disheartened that no one out there seemed to be as big a geek as me.

Turns out I just needed to give the internet time to blossom.  This past weekend, between a couple of sites (wikipedia, listology), my own list, and this awesome youtube video, I came up with a list of over 50 songs based on Canon in D.  Some of them I don't exactly agree with, but here are the ones that fit the best:

Pachelbel - Canon in D
Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Christmas Canon
Vitamin C - Graduation (Friends Forever)
Parliament - Oh Lord, Why Lord
Menelik - Je Me Souviens
Lutricia McNeal - Rise
Libera - Sanctus
Farm - All Together Now
Die Firma - Die Eine
Delerium - Paris
Coolio - C U When U Get There
Bob James - In the Garden
Streetlight Manifesto - On and On and On
Scatman John - Scatman's World
Pet Shop Boys - Go West
Monty Python - Decomposing Composers
McFly - Memory Lane
Goldie Lookin' Chain - Your Missus Is A Nutter
Catch 22 - On and On and On
Blues Traveler - Hook
Belle and Sebastian - Get Me Away From Here, I'm Dying
Aphrodite's Child - Rain and Tears
Village People - Go West
Spiritualized - Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space
Polyphonic Spree - Section 9
My Chemical Romance - Welcome To The Black Parade
Happa-tai - Yatta
Green Day - Basket Case
First Class - Beach Baby
Don Moen - Give Thanks
Coven - One Tin Soldier
Bob Dylan - Workingman's Blues
Augustana - Boston
Oasis - Don't Look Back In Anger
DragonForce - Valley of the Damned
Peter Paul and Mary - Puff the Magic Dragon
Percy Sledge - When a Man Loves a Woman
Bananarama - Love in the First Degree
Aerosmith - Cryin'

Oh, and here's that youtube video.  Unlike this guy, I kinda like the songs based on Canon in D, but then I've never played the cello.  :)  You've gotta check it out.

Enjoy!  :)

my new quote

I think it's goofy they call it your "Headline", so I thought it'd be funny to put "Extra, extra, read all about it, Jeff has a myspace page!".  But well, that looked retarded.

I had trouble deciding if I should use my new quote, from the John Lennon song Beautiful Boy, because it tends to be overused (as well as horribly misquoted).  I first heard this song as part of the movie Mr. Holland's Opus, which is very emotional for me, so I decided to use the quote (in its correct form) anyway.

beatboxing flute

Hm, I've never had a blog before.  I found this the other day and thought it was pretty cool.  He's got some other songs too it looks like.  Pretty crazy stuff, I especially like the part where he switches into Axel F.  :)
