I’m (Cork)Screwed!

All I wanted to do last night was have a glass of my favorite Merlot and chill. I don't have wine, or any other alcoholic beverages too often, so it was to be my treat after a very long few days of work and drudgery.

I thought I had a really nice corkscrew at one time, but the only one I could find was one that was part of a bottle/can opener. You know, the old kind where the corkscrew tucks neatly inside the handle of the bottle opener? Well, the little bugger was kind of bent, and it was stuck inside the handle. Using the very tips of my fingernails I was trying to pry it free and suddenly...OWWW!...the sharp corkscrew end went deeply into the tip of my right thumb!

I punctured myself pretty good, and bled like a stuck pig. So, after finding a bandaid I was finally able to pour myself a glass of wine, but I was left trying to remember the last time I had a tetanus shot...

I'm not sure the wine was worth the pain, but after a couple of glasses I sure felt a whole lot better. ;-)
