Sounds and smells

The senses are great.  And the molecules that we sense with our noses, ears, and tongues are amazing.  I mean, take sound for example.  Have you ever sworn that your phone was ringing when it wasn't?  Isn't it cool how different combinations of sound waves make the same timbres?  There was this Eric Clapton song that I used to listen to a lot.  There was a part in it that made it sound like my phone was ringing.  I obviously wouldn't have detected it before I had a cell phone, but once my ears were familiar with the sounds, I realized that for a split second, the notes and pitches being created by guitars, drums, keyboards, and vocal chords at the right intensity, were the same sound waves put out by my phone.  I think....!?

I thought of it because I think the same thing just happened with my nose.  The combination of my laptop's warm smell, my "citrus/cilantro" scent diffuser, and everything else in my room, are combining to make a scent that I've smelled before. NOT in my room...but a scent created by one thing.  I can't put my finger on it...hmmm....

Don't know if that mad any sense at all....but I know what I'm talking about it my own head!  (I think!!)

I was reading something...

And the writer was talking about William Blake (writer, poet, visual artist). I didn't know much of anything about William Blake, and I'm always wanting to be smarter, so I figured this was a good opportunity. I looked William Blake up on the internet. I went straight to the bio so I would know who this guy was before I looked at his work. In the second paragraph or so, Blake was described as a young boy. It said that he had a vision of "a tree full of angels". It dawned on my right then. I don't have to learn everything about everyone else to be smart. What about my own visions? Why do I think that if I learn how everyone else in this world had brilliant ideas that I will be like them. What about my ideas? I should develop my ideas. That's the way to true happiness.
