BANJO HIJINX! Gasoline book complete! NYC!! LOVE DD

THIS WEEK

Hi I'm in NYC the big briskly frosty apple!
The blog is kinda short but informative this time but I promise I'll make up for it next time.

OK, hold on to your hats and stars and garters! I just finished Gasoline the graphic novel and handed it off to my publishing company, Merrell Books, yesterday! It will be released October of 2008. Watch out world! I'm so excited and nervous like my big ol apocalyptic wedding birthday Christmas all in one!

HA HA HAPPY HALLOWEEN AND DAY OF THE DEAD ITS THE WITCHES NEW YEAR! love Dame?

THIS WEEK:

Current events.............I think I'm playing with Flaming Fire on Halloween night at Spaceland in LA. If I do it's not going to be Death By Doll just the traditional banjo sea shanties stuff , but if not I'll be there and you should go. They are an awesome band from NY.

Art/ Fashion..........Check out the ghost dolls on Dame Darcy.com! A new batch of them just for Halloween/through x mas season. I'm also in the throws of designing awesome stationary sets dolls and fashion for Jared Gold. This will be up on his site and linked to mine shortly. Its very exciting!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN AND DAY OF THE DEAD ITS THE WITCHES NEW YEAR! Start it off with a bang. I know I sure will. Sorry to be a little late on the blog, but I celebrate this season till Nov 2nd the day of the dead anyway.
Nov 2nd is always a really telling and lucky day where lots of weird life changing things always happen.
Its always a trick or treat too, like the year I met my x boyfriend on day of the dead or the election 04 for instance.

Here's a cute autumnal recipe:

APPLE STRUDEL

Cut up apples really tiny (3). Also cut up dried apples really tiny and  put  them in a mixing bowl with raisins, dried cranberries.

crust:
Take about one handful of each of the 3  kids of nuts and make them into powder in the blender.

then put a handful of dates  in the blender and make them into goo with olive oil and honey
add raisins until its kind of thickish goo.

Mix this with most of the nuts powder but leave a little on the side for the strudel filling.

It should be the kind of consistency that you can easily form it into shapes like clay.
place the crust into a pie pan and spread it to the edges.

Thanks the rest of the nuts and mix them with the apple stuff also add honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, sesame seeds, maybe a little lemon. Mix it all up and spoon it into the pie pan.
Cut dried apple circles in half and place them on top in concentric circles this makes the "baked crust top"

CRYSTAL BALL GAZING

Just a little note about why women are more commonly witches:
When you are gazing you are a vessel. Women are more naturally adept at being vessels to bring the unconscious and intangible spirit into actuality because they do this naturally by bringing spirits into the world as humans through the vessel of their womb.
Though the idea of being a vessel should not discount males, all humans have the capacity to reach from the intangible and make it tangible in this world. Art is the same way.

You can use a glass crystal ball as flawless as possible (no bubbles and scratches) but the traditional (rare and expensive crystal balls are made from beryl or quartz) .

Keep it safe and unscratched. To clean it boil it for 15 min. in a solution of six parts water and one part brandy.
Dry it with a fine linen towel and polish it with a chamois cloth

Ideally you should keep it in its own room, a small room free of mirrors, ornaments, pictures, or decorations, and with out any bright colors. Keep the temperature in the room at a comfortable level. The room should be free of all other furniture save for the table for the crystal and chairs.
Avoid either light or shadows to fall on the crystal.

The best time for this is during the waxing of the moon or when the moon is getting fuller.

Twilight is the best time due to the diffused light and "magic hour"

Place the crystal on a 4 sided wooden frame that sits on a pedestal with the name: Saday
 with these names written on the sides of the frame:
Yahweh (Hebrew God ) on the north side .
East side: Emmanuel
South: Agla
West : Adonai
  the pedestal is surrounded by  black  velvet to keep away refracted light.
Ideally no one should touch the crystal ball but you.
However if you are divining for some one else they can touch it if you want.

Light 2 black candlesticks on either side of the frame so the light is refracted into the crystal. They are black to only capture the light and not the color of the candle.
The candles should have the names: Elohim and Elohe carved into the wax (these are names that derive from the ceremonial magic from Jewish mystism the Kabala)

When preparing to use the crystal, spend several minutes "charging it" by passing your right hand over it to give it strength, then your left for the same number of times to give it sensitivity. Do this until your attention is focused.

Center yourself by having your feet firmly on the floor exactly next to each other. sit straight and focus on only your in and out breathing. If other thoughts come into your mind place them in a bubble and pop it as you focus on the ball.

Gaze (but do not stare) into it with out distraction and make sure no one with you is near the table or speaks.
You know it is working when the crystal becomes hazy or dull this stage may last or go away and come back

the next stage is that you will see clouds in the crystal. These clouds will form a common image.
If the crystal becomes dark, wait, and it may become very bright and clear. From this brightness a sharp image may appear.

Eventually as you become more used to the process of gazing (or scrying) you will learn to focus on a particular subject and call up some relevant symbol of vision. When you begin, however remain passive.
This gives the images time to develop in their own way.

White clouds means "yes" to a question . So do ascending clouds
black means "no". So do descending clouds
Black clouds brightening means difficulties followed by a change for the better.
Violet green or blue clouds means coming joy
Red orange or yellow show encroaching danger
prepare for an unpleasant surprise. The most ominous shows illness or grief or even death

Clouds moving to the right indicate a spirit that has taken interest in the gazer.
Clouds moving to the left indicate the gazing session should come to a close.

To ask about a certain person gaze into the ball with their image fixed in your mind.
To know weather an event or person is to arrive or go away in space or time distance your self from gazing by sitting back and looking at the ball in askance. The images seen will either come towards you or go away and you will know then the approaching or leaving of the subject.

When you see specific pictures note weather they are on the right or left.
The left shows actual things the right shows symbols of things.
Example a cup of champagne on the left shows an actual party
on the right will show a cause for celebration

Refer to a good book of symbology to derive exact meanings. Or dream interpretation books work as well.
However because these images are derived from your own subconscious you should take into consideration what they mean to you.

As you practice you will become better at not just seeing the images but understanding the images as well.

Finally a note of warning:
This is a form of self hypnosis, you have to learn to discern images that are the true divination from those of your own anxiety or fear. Or nonobjective hope.
Compare them to actual events or situations. Do not scare yourself with images you take too literally. The imagination speaks in metaphors and fantasies. Don't forget imagination is important. Use your gazing to develop psychic skills and to learn the ways of the unconscious.
