So today is International Women's Day. There will be a 'Million Women Rise' march taking place from Hyde Park to Trafalgar Square today setting off at noon near speaker's corner. Angela Davis will be speaking in Trafalgar Square after the march. So exciting!
Last night I attended a music event with some amazing women performers and an incredible poet whose work was so powerful that I was in tears. I was moved by these amazing strong individuals.
I am grateful to all the amazing women whose struggles, endeavours and achievements have enable me to be alive and well.
I am grateful to organisations like Refuge for the work they do and help that they give to thousands of suffering women.
I am grateful to the amazing women around me regularly who leave me awe inspired by their true beauty, soul, strength, honesty and passion.
I am grateful and blessed to be raising an amazing young woman who inspires and moves me on a daily basis.
I am humbled.
Oh - and thanks to all you amazing men behind the amazing women too! hehe

So its six or so hours to go till the Fair Trade Fortnight Music gig at Progreso.
Just before I head out of the door to do the sound check thang, I'd like to say HUGE thanks for all the support I've received!
Tygahoney and myself would like to thank The Fair Trade Foundation, Progreso, Clipper and Tropical Wholefoods for supplying the tasty treats that will be at the venue today.

PHEW! Am I tired?! Yesterday I drove ('oop North) with Tony Lowe from London to North Yorkshire to perform at the opening ceremony of Bydales Specialist Technology College and their Fair Trade Store opening. We left London at 2am and I drove on up the motorway, as usual I was ultra disciplined and I was determined to arrive on time and give my best performance - it was an honour to be invited. The ceremony started at 9am and we arrived in good time to participate. The school is amazing, eco-friendly, sustainable and staff and students alike are all switched on to the contribution that we all make with our future progress as human beings. The children at the school should be proud as should their parents. The local community members that I met from Marske by the Sea were friendly and knowledgeable about Fair Trade, it was so nice to witness the implementation and use of environmentally sound devices and to see humanitarian practice as commonplace as it is up in Cleveland.
Bydales has set a standard that I hope many other schools and people follow. Our future decision makers looked so positive and capable, and I was proud to be involved in such a monumental day.
Thank you Bydales for your hospitality and for being so inspiring, I can't wait to visit again.
