Yesterday when I woke up, the day had a very strange feel to it and it persisted all day long. When I got home from the bronze foundry there was a large envelope in the mail and the return address was from C/S NY:

So I am very pleased and honored to announce that on April 11, 2008, year 43 AS, I was elevated to Warlock in the Church of Satan.

I know it’s been a very long time since I posted my last blog, but I have been a very busy little demon. As most of you know, I’m in the midst of curating a COS Group Gallery Show and let me tell you this, it is going to be one hell of a show. I’ll be posting about the show soon, I’ll just say this now though, Philadelphia will be the place to be this October.

I have also been very busy creating new art. I am very pleased to announce that some of my work will be available cast in real metal. The first piece being offered is "Full Moon Ritual". This beauty is cast in stainless steel and has an antique black patina. I’ve posted some foundry pics in my picture section, so make sure that you go and check them out. These pieces are cast in very limited editions, so do get yours before they are gone. Here’s a picture, let me know what you think, thanks.

A great picture

For those who haven't gone to my website lately(you should go now), I recently updated some of the pages. You see I am in the midst of gathering photos of my collectors and the pieces of mine that they own, mainly for my archives but some of them will be displayed in the photos section. So I was very pleased and honored when HP Gilmore sent me this picture of him holding his copy of "COS High Priest Plaque" to me a couple of weeks ago and I thought that you all might get a kick out of it also.

Strange happenings.

As some may already know, there have been some weird things happening every time I work on my "Birth" sculpture. So here judge for yourself:

It all started soon after the sculpture started to take form. I had two old friends of mine inform me that their wives where pregnant. It the scheme of things, no big deal, just some great news.

But shortly after that I stopped working on the sculpture, due in part because other things came up and partly because I wasn't happy at how the sculpt was coming out. So a little time passes and I started reworking the sculpt. Can you guess what happens? If you said more pregnancy news then you are correct. I found out that two close family members where pregnant. OK, kind of strange if you ask me. But this is not the end of the happenings.

About a month ago me and my wife decide to give a birth sculpture to her brother and his wife as a gift, since his wife is one of the family members who is pregnant. As some of you know, I do all of the processes of my sculpture, from the sculpt all the way to the final finishing of the piece and all of my pieces are cast to order. So that means that I had to cast up a sculpture and clean it up and then finish it, you know what that means I started working on "Birth" again. Can you guess what happens next? Thats right today I find out that yet another family member has become pregnant, and thats right she's about a month pregnant.

I don't know what you think, but to me that is pretty fucking crazy.

Finished "Birth" Sculpture

My "Birth" sculpture is finally finished and now is available for sale. This beautifully demented sculpture is my homage to motherhood. It weights in at about 5lbs. and it's measurements are 12.5" x 6.25" x 8.5" and it comes in a gloss pewter finish. I will be updating my official website(www.dvlstudio.com) within the coming days and I will have pictures of her from a ton of different angles. As always your comments are most welcomed.
