this year 08

better late than never lol

sorry for not keeping people upto date this year what have been doing,

start of 08 was good i went derby city classic in louisville my 2nd visit there, started of with bank pool got beat 5th round was ok, then i went on agreat run in the 1 pocket and reached round 11 finished 7th was great for me as never really played much at all and i believe am the highest placed european ever in this event ,,gabe owen was champion

9ball event i lost in round 6 winner was ralf souquet

but i did win a few nice quid gambling

from dcc i played english 8ball professional event in barnsley uk i beat gaz potts in qf world champion but finally lost in semi final to lee clough not bad to say i had not played for months..rob chilton won this,

then it was to first gb9ball tour new tour in uk and the biggest we have ever had,

we have a professional event ,open event and amatuer event at every tour 6 weekend event in total throughout the yeat visit www.gb9balltour.com for results

this event i played ok but lost in last 16 of pro event and semi final of open event..imran majid did the double winning pro and open great stuff pal

next was back to english 8ball for a little while

tour event no 1 of 08

in the professional event i qualfied for last 8 which now gets played in june

the main tour event i placed 9th not bad weekend..winner was rob chilton his in great form ..

then it was to paris for first euro tour of 08 last year i did poorly so this year been my first full tour year which i intend to make all events ,which i havent managed in the past

anyway i was playing good but lost to inform tony drgao in last 16 10-9 shame but tony went onto win well done to him,

next stop was irleand for invitational english 8ball event was good tournament except i played awefull but was lucky to reach semi final losing to gaz potts..

gaz potts beat mick hill in final

then carried on playing 8ball next stop was hertfordshire ,eng £500 a man tournament 32 players i was in good form beat gaz potts in last 16 but then played bad run out of gas and lost in qf to chris melling..

my great pal and fishing partner phil harrison beat adam davies in final

8ball again so it was first time in years i had played 8ball consistantly for a few weeks and now i was in good touch again and really fancied my chances at tour no 2 in hinchkly i was playing good until last 16 9am start played adam davies and should have stayed in bed played bad lost 7-5 winner was gaz potts

professional event i played like i did in the old days and qualfied for quater finals which gets played in july which frustrates me because its busy time with american pool ,so when go there i will be out of touch with 8ball its so hard to go from american pool to english 8ball with thin cues small tip and marble looking balls lol.. but the good news we had a 3man team picked out of hat each professional gets to play with amatuer and we won this event pretty good money too myself ben mackie and paul marubi was great fun..

also ipa tour results can be found at www.propool.org

now it was back to 9ball gb9ball tour event 2 in croydon

played a money game day before to warm up won easily 15-2

main event

the professional event i was playing good until i played phil burford great young talent in uk watch out for this boy in future he beat me 9-8 he played great so i placed 5th tony drago beat uzzel in final

in the open i was playing good but played imran majid in semi final and he played best have ever seen him play break cost me but no excuse i got hammered 9-1 imran won it again

next was 8ball team event in yarm with my local mates and team its a good social weekend plenty of beer and good crack in team ,great atmosphere in this event which been running now for around 20 years ,we wasnt good enough to win and we lost in last 32 played bad but still good crack.

back to euro tour this time italy last year i placed 3rd and knwing going into this event i at to reach semi final at least to gain a place in world 9ball champs and world 10ball champs later in year

i set of playing really good winning my first 3 matches easy 9-0 9-1 9-0

then next day played awefull against majid losing 9-3 which sent me to losers side ,at to win or go home didnt play good but scraped and battled thru 9-5

next day single elim last 32 i draw drago again but was feeling good and played good to win 9-4 nice revenge owed him one

last 16 i played even better beating the legendary oliver ortmann 9-4 onto qf was massive match for me against imran majid that beat me earlier was hill hill 8-8 to the brits got to win and thankfully i broke and ran out to win 9-8 now i was relieved and pressure of in semi final i played mark gray euro no 1 for england, was great match which will be shown on eurosport soon we both played great i won 9-6.

in the  final i play bruno mateuro  from italy euro no 2 i come out totally in the zone and in control of what i was doing and raced to 8-0 lead not making any mistakes still race to 9 he come back with 2 games before i finished it off in style to win 9-2 and very happy man my first euro tour victory and now am upto no 11 in rankings and gain entry to most events around the world no more qualfiers whooo hooo..

straight from italy i go fujariah in dubia for world 8ball championships american 8ball style

get there after 15 hours travel shattered first of all i have 3 chance to qualify and these are tough fields first day i lose 5-4 to kiamco in qf,2nd day i feel better and qualfiy beating the likes of lee van corteza ,petroni etc sadley my pal karl boyes and mick hill missed out..

to the finals i struggled ith break which was massively important because pockets hugh i lost to coery duele then beat joven bustamante which meant i at to beat jasmin ouschan to reach last 32 then its single elim i was losing 6-3 race to 8 but i didnt get to shoot she was playing great and breaking good where i was playing good but break bad,i get back to 6-5 next rack easy 8ball and missed it stupid cost me bad ended up losing 8-6 at 7-6 she made a great clearance well done to jasmin in my opinion the best lady player in the world today, sadly she lost 10-9 next match, and the champion was ralf souquet beating alcano in final well done ralfy..

back to english 8ball hadnt played for a while so went there with no form or practise and played pretty bad really lost in last 32 to paul dunkey 7-6 pro event i lost early too.lol

not sure if i will make anymore 8ball tours this year..

next stop was las vegas very excited over 7000players to play bca nationals amatuer pool then u got professional event

well i had a action challenge match  covered and put together my www.theactionreport.com great people and good to play in that arena i played scott forst for 7500 a man on the bar table 7ft table something i had not played for 2 years since i played bca grand masters which i happned to win

day one we play 8ball race to 11 best of 5 sets i won 3-2 in sets

day two we play 10ball race to 11 best of 5 sets i won 3-0

day three we play 9ball race to 11 best of 5 sets i lost 3-0

but won overall 2500.

enjoyed the match  ..

next was predator 10ball championships run by dragon promotions this was a great event i had some good wins over the likes of sparky ferrell, takenka, robles, mika imminon reach the last 16 single elim but lost to tony drago 10-6 was real dissapointed didnt get much luck he did but thats pool, thnakfully tony went onto win it made me feel better as we are friends well done tony great win pal.

straight from vegas to germany for euro tour stop 3

i was playing ok reach last 32 but then got slaughtered by vilmos foldes again not much went my way but he played good.. so palced 17th

now am tired been none stop but was back to gb9ball tour event 3 in wealdstone ,harrow, london

the professional event played and i must say i played well consistantly dominating the field beat mike rogers 9-2 neil raybone 9-4 tony drago 9-4 mark gray 9-3 and finally my best pal karl boyes in final 11-7 very happy

next day to the open was tired and really struggled should have got beat first match but got lucky to win 9-8 then without playing good i won comfortable next few matches to reach semi final against raj hundal this was a great match until 7-6 to me was on the 9ball to go 8-6 but got distracted when someone dropped there cue on floor and i mised the 9ball was sick ended up losing 9-8 just very timing for the guy to drop his cue as am on my back stroke but one of those things, raj played great besides that incident as i did..

in final raj played imran majid raj was flying to lead 6-0 but bit of bad luck and good luck from imran mixed with good play he come back and won 11-10 to win all 3 main events this year really great achievement so well done to him.. unlucky raj

next for me is austria euro tour june 11th-15th then qatar open 27th-6th july in doha

catch up soon folks

las vegas bca 9ball

i arrievd las vegas 10th may staying at riviera

really struggled to get over jet lag upto now which is not like me ,before never really had a problem but this trip so far am struggling am waking up at 6am first time in my life lol maybe all the pool and the travelling is catching up and maybe burnt out a little..

anyway to the event its a great set up big arena massive crowds and each player gets annoucned like boxing style makes you pumped up and nervous..

first match i played stevie moore top american player it was a poor game but i got over line 11-10

today i played thomas engert i was 6-5 up but felt 7-4 would have been fair.. 6-6 i made bad position and again at 8-6 ended up losing 11-7 very dissapointed 4 times i lost position i was potting good but in both game i keep losing position which really usually my strengh ..gutted because i had very good half of draw and really fancied my chances maybe have missed the boat..but have still a chance on losers side just means tougher path and lot more games to play but ill take it one by one and hope to find my game

fingers crossed

keep you posted play again wed

good win and a 2nd place

after euro tour i went to uk9ball tour in manchester was first uk9ball tour had played this season and knew i was in good form

i was given a tough draw against tommy donlon but i played solid to win 9-2 then i qualified for last 16 following day with a 9-1 and 9-2 win

last 16 i beat uks no 1 youth player matty lawrence 9-1 then uk no 1 mark gray 9-4 semi final i beat tommy ainsworth smith 9-2 who beat tony drago in qf

final i played my great pal karl boyes who had wins over daryl peach 9-2 and raj hundal 9-5 the standard was very high one istake each and i was the winner 11-6 and a very happy man..

this weekend just gone i was defending my title on the small table english 8ball this game i used to dominate but these days i very rarely play but we headed to london for jfks masters £500 a man 32 of the worlds best players battled it out for a total price fund of £16,000

after a slow start i found some form as the event went on in the semi final i beat uk no 1 gaz potts 3sets to 1 each set best of 9 frames 5-2 3-5 5-4 5-2 me

good friend phil harrison beat mick hill in semi final 3-2 having been 2 sets down

in final first set i never got going and lost it 5-3

2nd set i was 4-2 up easy clearance but got a massive kick when on a easy clearance same thing happened at 4-3 and 4-4 he was pretty lucky..so lost the set 5-4 was sick

3rd set i played good and won it 5-2

4th set i was 4-4 and had the game won really but phil pulled out a great clearance to win the match and beat me in the final 3-1 in sets but it was a very profitable weekend and a good defence of my title espeically as i very rarely play the game so pleased with myself ..

last 3 tournaments ive had 3rd 1st and 2nd place confidence high and with 3 really big comps coming up euro tour germany and bca las vegas and world 10 ball florida its exciting times and hope to do something big in these comps!!

ill keep you posted

back to form

hi been really busy lately ,but the past 2 months ive been playing good, went to dubia early march to qualify for 8ball champs and got through playing good and won few money games, come to the event i was playing good beat souquet first round got to last 32 but with it been double elimination i was unfortunate to draw ralph souquet again last 32 onwards straight k/o he beat me 10-4 i only made one mistake breaks killed me!!

after this i fly back to england for grand masters 8ball in cambridge i played pretty good to reach quarter final then i got torched by rico diks who broke and played perfect against me!

next stop was uk8ball tour hadnt played for very long time and 2 hours practise wasnt the best preparation coming from american pool i struggled ended up losing round 2 and last 16 professional event

back to american pool next stop was philippines i went there for 17days played with efren reyes, bustamante, gandy valle, jarome pena, jeffrey de luna, and many others my results were good!!

come back to england and headed for italy euro tour in good form was very good event i got the worst start possible played polish player he played good on me to go 6-2 up i played good to get back 8-8 then he fluked the 2 ball next rack then he broke ran to beat me 10-8

i went to losers side at to win 5 matches to reach last 32 then its straight knockout i got tv match i won 10-5 played solid.. then next match fellow countryman i didnt get going and fell over line 10-8..after this match i kicked into gear and beat good players 10-2 and 10-1 i didnt miss!

last match to get through i had the very experienced m.shmidt i was losing 4-1 and 5-2 then i got going got back to 6-6 he seemed to feel pressure and i got stronger to run out 10-6 winner..

last 32 i draw marcus chamat top european player i was in good from and won 10-4 next match i played even better and beat petroni 10-4 qf i played the legendary oliver ortman it was close all way until 6-6 then i ran 3 to go 9-6 he come back strong to 9-8 he then made mistake last rack and i cleaned up to win 10-8 very happy

sf will be on eurosport around may time i played stepanov rising star from russia and he been in last 2 major finals he was little lucky at start to go 3-0 up and 5-2 up then i got into game playing some good stuff to go 7-5 up he then didnt give me a chance next 3.. 8-7 down i make bad mistake he punished me to win 10-7 never mind still a good finish..3rd

if got to final i would have qualified for world 9ball champs in philippines looks like qualifiers for me ...but good start to euro tour hopefully i can make all events and get high finish when comes to picking mosconi cup team fingers crossed..

got some big events coming up english pool £500 a man jfks to defend my title then to germany for euro tour then to america for 2 very big events am hopefull for a good run in the upcoming events i will keep you posted

be good!!
