Funny thing about being unemployed...
...weekends don't mean quite so much, except you get to hang out with your working friends. Yeah Im in search of a new employer so if anyone knows of a job for me let me know. I would prefer a job back on the road so if any of my touring friends need a tech you let me know. I am well versed in the rules of bus living and can tune a guitar or bass or setup a drumset. The upside is Im heading to Boston this weekend to see the Foo Fighters with my old friend Charlie who will be interviewing one Mr D. Grohl. Times aren't that bad afterall.
ROCK!!

CHRIST CLIMBED DOWN
Christ climbed down from His bare Tree this year and ran away to where there were no rootless Christmas trees hung with candycanes and breakable stars
Christ climbed down from His bare Tree this year and ran away to where there were no gilded Christmas trees and no tinsel Christmas trees and no tinfoil Christmas trees and no pink plastic Christmas trees and no gold Christmas trees and no black Christmas trees and no powderblue Christmas trees hung with electric candles and encircled by tin electric trains and clever cornball relatives
Christ climbed down from His bare Tree this year and ran away to where no intrepid Bible salesmen covered the territory in two-tone cadillacs and where no Sears Roebuck creches complete with plastic babe in manger arrived by parcel post the babe by special delivery and where no televised Wise Men praised the Lord Calvert Whiskey
Christ climbed down from His bare Tree this year and ran away to where no fat handshaking stranger in a red flannel suit and a fake white beard went around passing himself off as some sort of North Pole saint crossing the desert to Bethlehem Pennsylvania in a Volkswagen sled drawn by rollicking Adirondack reindeer and German names and bearing sacks of Humble Gifts from Saks Fifth Avenue for everybody's imagined Christ child
Christ climbed down from His bare Tree this year and ran away to where no Bing Crosby carollers groaned of a tight Christmas and where no Radio City angels iceskated wingless thru a winter wonderland into a jinglebell heaven daily at 8:30 with Midnight Mass matinees
Christ climbed down from His bare Tree this year and softly stole away into some anonymous Mary's womb again where in the darkest night of everybody's anonymous soul He awaits again an unimaginable and impossibly Immaculate Reconception the very craziest of Second Comings

Mr Boots goes to the doctor
Current mood: sad
I had to take the cat to the Emergency room today. He presumably jumped out of a tree and has broken both front legs in the fall. I took him straight to the doctor this morning and realised I cant be a dad. I just can't bear to face this pain again seing something I love hurt. If I have ever for one moment thought I may be some kind of tough guy with a whatever attitude, I proved to myself today. I almost lost it when they told me they may have to take the whole leg off.I couldnt do it so I had to pony up the big bucks to get him into surgery the por little guy will have his leg pinned together and will have to have it that way for a few weeks. I hated cats till I met MR boots. He is the sweetest thing everyone who meets him falls in love with him. He is the best cuddlery. He sleeps on my pillow everynight tight next to me and stretche sout in the bed just like i do. He became my friend when i broke my ankle and had to stay on the sofa for a few days and couldnt do anything. I am sad for MR Boots because right now he is alone and in pain in the animal hospital and I cant see him. Get better soon Mr Boots,
I know Im a sap Ill kick my own ass later.

sleep the sleep of the dead
Sleep is a good thing, something that doesnt come often enough these days. I spent the vast majority of yesterday sleeping. I slept late in the bed till about 9am then I woke up pulled on some shorts and went and slept on the futon in the sun till arond 3pm. I guess I was tired. I hate sleeping the entire day away because it will be forever till I get that much time alone for myself again.I didnt get to go ride, I didnt get to play the drums, but I did get to relax in the sun for a while.

Dogwood Delirium
April 28-30
The east coast's first camping rally of spring is bigger and better than ever! The Foulers SC of Charlottesville, VA, and the Powhite Trash SC Richmond, VA, welcome all comers to the 2006 Dogwood Delirium.
Where: Heavenly Acres (http://www.heavenlyacres.net)is located in Stanardsville, VA, which is about 15 miles north of Charlottesville. We have commandeered the largest area of the campsite, which is a bit-a-ways from the rest of the campsite. Dogs and kids are a-ok, just keep an eye on them and pick up after them. There are full bathroom facilities, a big field for camping and hanging out, fire pit for the usual evening bonfires, and stage area with electricity and BBQ grills.
If you are not into camping, you can still stay at the campsite. They have numerous cabins and cabooses that have been outfitted as cabins, with beds, heat, all that civilized stuff. The cabins do not have running water, but the cabooses do. All of the units accommodate at least 4. For more information or to reserve a space, call Gary at the campsite at (434) 985 6601. Tell him you are with the scooter group and he will take care of you.
There are also numerous hotels in Charlottesville proper and a really nice bed and breakfast in Stanardsville. Please let us know if you need some assistance in choosing alternate lodging and we will do our best to help out.
Registration is $20, and that includes a rally patch, rally bag of goodness including one raffle ticket (more are available from whomever has the big roll of tickets for $1 each), 2 nights of camping at Heavenly Acres Campground, and a wristband that will get you all of the food detailed in the schedule and admission to the Saturday night fandango
