Peter Matteson is the crossof lorraine
So for the 3rd year in a row i feel cool.
I'm going on tour with Ben and Tim. These shows will be amazing,
This is what inspired me to do the cross of lorraine. I now have 12 songs and will be recording the whole record by friday. I start tommorrow.
The only problem is that if you live in nashville and want to see me you haver to come to the end.
I'm playing with two other bands on August 9th, cease upon the capitol (murfreesboro) and the third memory (france). I will have prerelease solo records, Limited edition of course, and they will include a voucher for the real one after it gets touched up by scherer and mastered by mr van sloan. The band will be named the cross of lorraine and the record will be titled "a plauge on both your houses."

baby
Jonas Michael Walker was born around 2:50 pm on friday. He's rad didn't even cry when he got his shots.
I'm working on finishing the last (read 11th) song for the cross of lorraine solo record.
Monday i am getting together to play for the first time with our new drummer (fingers crossed)
I have a new phone number so if you need me want to cuss me or want to talk about the absurd lack of coverage that the worlds most popular sport gets on sports talk radio, write me and i'll give it to ya.

apparently i was unclear
I did let band members go. They didn't quit. But dcm needs to tour more than 15 weekdays a year and Protomen has become top priority for ash and kee. So it was either call it quits after 8 years of work just now seeing rewards and with a street date in mid august or figure out stage 1000 of this project's development. Feel free to tell me how stupid or unfeeling this is and then consider 1.5 years verus a lifetime. I still think that there is a reason for this music and that requires commitment, professionalism, and sacrifice. I may be a jerk, but this is my life, not my hobby. I did not make this choice lightly nor did i make it in a vacum. I hope you can all understand. thank you

Tour Le Fin:New Yerk and beyond the infinte
After hopping on a subway from Brooklyn to Manhattan, walking for hours around Little Italy, Chinatown, The Financial District, Ground Zero Etc., playing the show at the Mercury Lounge, partying hard afterwards (including a visit to the Alligator Lounge for free pizza), waking up the next day in the afternoon...we decided to hit the road and drive straight back to Nashville...all day, all night, all day. So, we're home, we're alive, we're not entirely choking each other to death..but we're alive.
New York was amazing. Wonderful city. I loved every moment of it; the sounds, the smell, the food, the people...everything. Thank yous big time to all the friends in the area that made it out and party'd with us in the bus.
after eating pizza and passing out in Brooklyn, we woke up to the afternoon of the next day, loaded up the Deathbus and drove alllll the wwaaaaay back to tennessee...took forver..like 18 hours or something.
 wandering the alleyways of NYC

Ground Zero, World Trade Center...very hallowing experience
all the buzz the night of the show

After the show we wandered across the river to Brooklyn for some free pizza at The Alligator Lounge...for real..for every single drink you buy, beer, liquor, etc., you get a whole free pizza..GENIUS!
Well we're home and happy for it. Keep your ears and eyes open!
as always, enjoy the whole album at

Tour up to date:from ohio to new york
Walker reporting:
We have now traveled and have set up our base camp in Brooklyn, NY just across the water from Manhattan at our friends apartment, this after spending three days or so in the Columbus, OH area making friends with some great, fun people, surviving our stay at a haunted house, performing in Dayton and Columbus, driving through Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and on into New York, New York.
Heres the view:
After waking up in the bus, sleeping on the street in Columbus, we mosey'd on down the road to High St., happened upon the Laundromat/internet cafe/coffee shop to do laundry, surf the interweb cyberspace net, and drink coffee
Enjoying the other bands at the Oregon Express, the venue in Dayton, Saturday night. We played with Billy Catfish (a crazy performance art, kinda silly, funny, drunken show..Andy Kauffman esque, loved it), The Black Canary, and Sleepy Bird.. all wonderful performances, all wonderful people.
The Black Canary(s)
Sleepybird..at least some of the members, due to less people they performed a special techno version of their show
Dance party on the Deathbus, blasting the Chromeo, loadin up the gear
Here's where things got very interesting Saturday night. After playing our show in Dayton, the singer from The Black Canary mentioned that he's from Columbus, doesn't have room in his house for the band to sleep at, but happens to own a 117 year old house that we all think is haunted. We were up for the challenge and spent the night not once, but twice in an old, gigantic, three story, creeped out crazy, beautiful house. We stocked up on candles and Joseph busted out the nightvision camera, we went exploring....while nothing remarkable happened, it was a very creepy house, it was pretty hard to stand being alone in there, much less going to the servants quarters on the third floor...do not go to the third floor alone at night!...well, don't go to the basement either..creepy..
we survived, we loved it. Now were in New York..moving on..
rockin the Bernies in Columbus
partyin at the Surly Girl after show/birthday party before moving on to the Haunted Mansion/Birthday party
Haunted Mansion in the daytime..still creepy though is the second window to the left on the second floor, the drape is moved over just enough for the spirits to peek out at us.
Pennsylvania sunset on the way to NY
if you look really hard, it says Holland, as in the Holland tunnel into New York City
eatin the indian food at Punjabi, across from were we'll be playing Tuesday night at The Mercury Lounge on Houston.
happy new york night to you
more later
check out all the pictures..much much more than this at
lorves,
walker

Tour UPDT@1225 bt7/ Akron, Good Music, Sleeping in the bus
Akron is a fine city with some fine people playing there
we woke up in Louisville, KY on friday, loaded up and drove 6 hours or so to Akron, OH. We played at The Orange St., interestingly not on Orange Street. Played withs some lovely bands, Can't Face the Falling and Lucy Grace..all great people, great music, and lucky for you, playing tonight at the Anchor in Nashville..PLEASE go see them
myspace.com/lucygrace
myspace.com/cantfacethefalling
Our next two shows are in the Columbus, OH area so we had the bright idea to drive there after our performance in Akron. Peter, Wayne, and I ended up sleeping in the deathbus, Ash was unaccounted for until recently when saw him wandering down the street towards the laundromat/coffee shop/internet cafe that we are currently homebased at. He must have found somewhere to sleep last night..good for him...so tonight we are in Dayton, tommorrow in Columbus and then we're off to New York!
On to the photos!
Can't Face the Falling....the lovely Can't Face the Falling
Can't Face the Falling girls, again.
the Lucy Grace chaps
an intimate performance for shelly, who missed the show..bummer
Sleeping arrangements for our first night in Columbus, OH
these are just a taste, enjoy all the photos at
lubs,

If you want to know what it's like to be matteson
Current mood: nostalgia for things that have yet to occur
So ever now and again I google us. A couple things i found within the first ten listings were people wondering if it really is comesto and not comes to and an interview that said Ship of fools, or ship on fire would be out by September 2005. city paper 2005
We had a different guitar player who has moved on to better things. We went on a tour without him (due to butting heads and my inability to loosen the reigns of control, plus stuff like college and growing up) or Walker (due to the wonderful world of Starbucks).
Now we are working on a tour (back to NYC June 5th through the 18th) And have released the record. Only a year and a half off.
I'm very thankful to everyone at SMM which didn't exist then, and our guy in NYC who has risen from intern at that time to second in command at his company now. But I'm back at the boundr'y and thinking the same things.
They are all going to quit.
No one gets it.
and I'm a fool.....Come on "comesto."
So as always I set that next deadline. That next line in the sand, as we all do.
After this i will know. Whether I should just give up, or once when I wondered if this was really what love was (if I'd give it up for her, then yes), if music can mean anything anymore (is it nessecary), if we are all doomed to pervert every well intended thing to a game of sex and violence, and how many nights my mom wonders if all the frustration that comes from being this intense will be worth it.
We will always make deadlines.
We will always wonder.
Just plunge your hand in and see if the wound is real. But if it's not, are we destroyed?
Ask yourself not if it will be worth it, but if today was worth it. Not as a path to something but what is the value of your life today as an insignificant singer, breather, waiter, student, video store clerk, shirt printer or whatever.
If we live today like it's our last, but don't do anything that will guarantee that it should have been.
Will i ever learn? probably not Those of you who have shown me love, not just as an artist but as a friend make it worth every neurotic tick. Every stupid blog. But today was a good day no gat and no ho hitting.
thank you matteson
