Lately I’ve been p;aying Ragnarok
Current mood: relaxed

Sure, I still pass through check my mail, and read friend’s blogs.  Those who only post in bullitin...well, guess what, I missed most of that.  It only last for 10  14 days and there are way to many bulletins to find your messages.  Plus, I have picked up a lot of your blogs on rss feed and can keep up with those of you who do blog.

Anyway, those of you who are gamers can find me online playing Ragnarok

PS: As of today Nov 8, 2007... there have been 21,243 views to this blog.  (that doesn’t count the ones that occurred before system reset my count last year, nor does it include readers from feeds)

If you play Ragnarok and have a myspace page drop me a personal message here.

Matchbox Twenty has cut a new single and it is on their profile  for you to hear it.  The Song is titled  "How Far We've Come"  This means that YES their player is working now and there are a total of 4 songs in their player.  The current song on my profile is "Soul" by Matchbox 20.  So, yes, you can add from their older songs or the new song from their profile page.

The  new  CD which they are currently working on is called "Exile" and  will be released sometime in October of 2007.

I'm back for now

Sorry, I was rather ill the end of May and part of June.  and my computer has been giving me some problems in the whole crashing out department (ever a good sign for computer health)   Places where I have logged in regularly lately include

which is a totally fun site with virtual towns and games. If you get an account there look me up under debraford23 and let me kno you found me here and I will totally add you to my friend's list there. I put a link to the log in page in the little picture above. And if you want games offline you can still get free trials and 2 free full games at http://www.mygamespace.com/debraford123game  plus you can get your own gamespace and will automatically be added to my friend's list if you sign up there and get your two free games from my gamespace.

Recommended sites include the personal website of my good friend Kris Kinne who is an excellent artist.  Check out his myspace page or go directly to his site at www.boardontheweb.com

So, I am playing catchup and sneaking in between system crashes.  I do still check my messages here even if you don't see my little online beacon that often.

Matchbox Twenty - 11 Videos
Category: Music

I've posted a lot of friends only playlist for Matchbox Twenty videos. this is a PUBLIc blog. that is possible because all of these videos were uploaded to YouTube by Atlantic Records. Like I've been saying, record labels know that videos are great promotion for their music artists. There is something about seeing the videos which makes the music more memorable. So, I hope you enjoy the videos in the player below.

New Video By Rob Thomas- Little Wonders
Category: Music

If you have Rob Thomas on your friends list then you have gotten a copy of this in the bulletin on April 9th.  If you have so many friends that you didn't get to see it, well here it is.  This Video of  "Little Wonders" is made possible through brightcove services and is the  promotional video approved by Rob Thomas.

To place just the link to the video you can use http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid271521316?bctid=686985810

By selecting the menu on the player below you can get the code for this video to put on your age or in your blog.

In order to hear this, since there is another RT video playing if you have come to the main blog, scroll down and turn off the other player, then start this one.

(If you came through a permalink to this entry, or through a search engine link, you are robably wondering what I'm talking about because you are only seeing one link at a time.).

Glitch when editing Blog - what it looks like
Current mood: working
Category: Blogging

1)There is currently a glitch in editing posts so it is difficult to edit without redoing the entire entry without getting the post turned to hash. This may be an attempt to thwart hacker's attempts to edit entries.  Honestly, I can't tell you for sure if myspace knows about it or not, I don't know if it is system wide or just an isolated occurrence on this account.  If you have experienced a similar situation leave a comment.  Bottom line is either hackers, phishers, a virus  or myspace development teams made this change.  At any rate you cannot depend on the ability to edit your posts,

Corrections and Updates

1)There is currently a glitch in editing posts so it is difficult to edit without redoing the entire entry without getting the post turned to hash. This may be an attempt to thwart hacker's attempts to edit entries, I don't know if it is system wide or just an isolated occurrence on this account.  If you have experienced a similar situation leave a comment.

2) Currently, I have a song Babysoul by Saxophone player

Jackiem Joyner whose album should be available in May. His profile is at www.myspace.com/jackiemsoul  and his band site is at http://www.artizenmusic.com/  where there is an extended bio on the music artist.

3)The correction to the URL of the Streaming videos is

Debraford123's Video Stream -
http://youtube.com/stream?s=235208704

Videos now available as streaming videos.  There is a chat box available in the Streaming Video Room.  All of the individual Videos from my main Vlog will be added to the stream over a period of time this month. Many indie music artists previously posted here who uploaded their own content will be available for viewing.  There will be a high number of guitar players focused in the video stream.

Debraford123's Video Stream  -  from the VLOG, Playlists and subscribed to videos.  From the greatest known to upcoming talent.  With occasional humor thrown in between. This stream was created to share some excellent choices for your viewing pleasure.

4) The "All that I am Video has been deleted from the user account so it is no longer available on the profile  page.  Additionally, a high number of MB 20 and Rob Thomas Videos have been recently deleted from Youtube (in the last week)  So new videos from those Artist will not be added to the playlist again once removed.  Usually, when a lot of videos by the same musician is deleted from many different accounts, it is usually a request by a producer, label, rights owner or Band. the reasons may vary, but, signs of an official request is heavy deletion of material.

My new map for friends and visitors
Category: Friends

I tried to replace the map frame code from my profile which finally showed up again, but I couldn't save any edits so  I am putting it here.

This is the final map attempt here. Instead of a different map for myspace profiles, everyone gets to share my frappr map for my website. It has a forum so, I can answer questions there if you want to use a public forum to get your answers. As far as I can tell, they aren't bringing back the old map format anytime soon. The pages with links are my frappr friends . You have to "upload your picture" and type in your myspace URL, if, you want people to see it on the map. This is a public map so don't put outrageous stuff in the shoutouts or you won't show up on this map. Okay. It's not instant, I will approve or disapprove as I see fit. You have the freedom of speech, but, I have the right to ask you to behave when you come over to visit or kick you out if you don't. If you type in a link for your shout out it will take longer for your image to show up, because, I screen and sensor/censor.

These very talented people are on my Personal Profile Page and Share My Space for the simple reason that they represent a very real part of my personality and touch the thoughts that motivate my creativity as an artist and a writer. Some people will keep their spots at the top and others will be rotated so that different people get a chance to have their pages linked to. So, if you disappear off my top spots....don't get mad. I just so happened to get more than the 5 or 10 friends I thought I would get when I signed up. Go figure

"All that I Am" by Rob Thomas is once again my profile song
Category: Music

On my profile page temporarily I had a song playing that is from the Recently added Music page for

Sing a Song of Six Strings

which is a music page for members of what used to be Matchbox 20 along with other contributing Music Greats

I am returning to music from Rob Thomas' "Something To Be" Album/CD.

Normally I would update this information on the profile page, but, it seems that I cannot edit my profile.  It seems as though it isn't totally "My Space" after all.

so get over any typos on this profile because the days I go back to proof all the stuff online...well If I can't edit it I - then I won't edit it.

Other changes and updates scheduled for the page will be posted elsewhere and I will give you the links..

Marwood Video
Category: Music

Usually videos are blogged to friends because there is such a problem with rights.  In this case  videos were uploaded by the film producer with the knowledge of the Musician.  I personally, firmly, believe people remember band names better when they see the videos.  Having mentioned Marwood alot it's great that this video is now available.  Benj is a Musician for you to keep an eye on and a welcomed ear for.

Quote from bulletin:

"New Marwood Video is now up on the myspace page and on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Byf4l57Dfc
My mate Carl at Flagg media shot it on the road this summer when I was in Wisconsin!
Enjoy...
Luv
Benj" - Marwood

Quote from video Description at You Tube:

"This video was shot "from the hip" at several locations including two performances as Benji toured through the Wisconsin area. Thanks goes to Paradigm Coffee in Sheboygan and special thanks to Nick Langholff for hooking me up with Benji."   -  cfwhitney

http://myspace.com/marwood

www.marwoodmusic.com

When doing a Featured artist pages at a couple of my websites ,video  kinda moves a music artist  up on my list.  Making pages that actually give  visitors a better feeling for who the musician is goes over a lot better than just a text article on many names that the public might not bee too familiar with.  so you can expect to see Marwood amongst my Featured Music artist pages soon.

More Art Work by debraford123
Current mood: working
Category: Art and Photography

These are some art pieces I recovered from N.O.last weekend and blogged already.  Posted By debraford123 to debraford123's BLOGSPOT at 1/14/2007 05:58:00 AM

This image is stored as a jpg file and is 19kb before uploading. The original Scan, as I recall was taken at extremely high resolution and was over 300mb. After a series of processes the image was reduced to the much smaller size.

The drawing was done with "Gel Ink" which I am quite fond of. Being a rather new item in the art mediums art done in gel ink hasn't received the credit it deserves. So I will post some of these and hope you like them.

Remember, if you are already on my friend list at Meet the Artist at Yahoo 360, you can set a version of ths drawing as cell phone wallpaper.
This is a permanent water color which is very much like a stain, done on a canvas board. The canvas comes pre-primed (gesso) over a heavy cardboard backing. In this case the cardboard backing was removed because it was totally ruined. The frame was also very damaged. This painting had been hanging high on the wall at the time of the hurricane. Since this was a permanent watercolor the image was not removed by the water even though it was covered with ...let's call it "mud." We don't really want to think about what the mud was... it was "flood mud." This is one of what I call my whirlwind series. Being one of the earlier of the series it has the basic whirlwind. Later pictures in this series have had the whirlwinds in the back ground of the main images.

This is original work by Debra Ford aka debraford123
Posted By debraford123 to debraford123's BLOGSPOT at 1/14/2007 05:56:00 AM

I will add some of thse pictures to my pics here at myspace in addition to my regular "artist" pages.  These images are now stored for  posting pictures at 123flickr  and can be found in the image sets there. If you want to see the full set of Artworkd which will be added to use the following link to the set :

Another place you can go in addition to the Flickr links to find my stuff is  located at http://debraford123.googlepages.com on the home page.  At the bottom of that link page is a long list of debraford123 links. I will use the googlepages to assemble everything or at least a lot of my stuff so it will be easier to keep up with me in the future.  There is way too much to see or read in a single session so don't even try.  Some of it is nonsense, and some of it is business which I sneak in.  Hopefully, I will be going for another visit to N.O. to get more art and computer records.

"Pre-Katrina" art work recovered - a glimmer of hope.
Current mood: hopeful
Category: Art and Photography

This is a scan of a painting which I recovered from my "Katrina Flooded" residence last weekend.  It's been 15 months and there is still a mountain of items buried under fallen sheetrock. mud and sludge. There is nothing like flood mud. It is a Watercolor Painting on Clayboard - The Scene is a pool room/game. The painting drawn onto the clayboard using water color pencil and the image was then painted in using water. Clayboard is a clay sized substance a lot like plaster of Paris which is coated on top of a wooden or other hard backing material. Since, the color absorbs into the clay, the top layer can be cleaned leaving the detail. Some of the actual color was removed from the edges of the painting from the water which reached it. This painting was originally hanging over the door frame when the storm hit. It was found on the floor under sheet rock that had fallen from the ceilings. It was still in the frame which had water damage. The painting being a very smooth surface was mounted close to the glass which did not break. The clayboard had been inserted snugly into a foam core board to hold it close to the glass. I believe that is what helped keep the water from doing major damage or seeping into the actual clay surface.

Watercolor Painting on Clayboard Pool Room Recovered from Katrina
I used rubbing alcohol and qtips to clean it. I'll finish the cleaning process later. I did this particular piece in the fall of 1997 while in Houston. I picked the art medium because it was easy to carry the needed supplies while traveling. In the long run it worked out well since it managed to survive.
