...and don’t let the door hit yer ass on the way out!
I'd just like to personally commend the people of Pakistan for pulling off the impossible. Despite his numerous attempts to rig the election, stuff the ballot boxes, and intimidate (possibly even assassinate) the opposition, Pervez Musharraf suffered an overwhelming defeat in Monday's parlimentary elections. I sincerely believe that Musharraf's government (and the Bush administration's blind support of it) was one of the biggest roadblocks in the stabilization of Iraq and Afghanistan. Hopefully the situation in the region will improve significantly faster now that the fox is no longer guarding the proverbial hen house.
It's official. According to the office of the medical examiner of the city of New York, Heath Ledger's death was ruled as an accident: "The 28-year-old film star died 'of acute intoxication' from the combination of two strong painkillers, two anti-anxiety medicines and two sleeping aids."
That is SIX different medications, for those of you not paying attention.
SIX!!!
Don't get me wrong - I'm personally ALWAYS accidentally taking oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine at the same time. Because it's such an easy thing to do ACCIDENTALLY. Seriously.....
Yet another argument for government subsidized healthcare
According to Mark Schapiro, an investigative reporter and author of the new book 'Exposed: The Toxic Chemistry of Everyday Products', the CDC has undergone a study over the past few years on the effects of industrial chemicals used in consumer products. Blood tests have revealed some 150 toxins residing in the bloodstream of a large percentage of the US populous. These chemicals are found in everything from plastic bottles and children's toys to electronics like cell phones and mp3 players (they have even found dangerous amounts of lead in lipstick). Furthermore, many of these same chemicals (which - by the way - may have carcinogenic or mutogenic effects on human cells) have been banned by the European Union for a few years now, and manufacturers in EU countries have found safer alternatives. Apparently these companies' bottom lines haven't even been negatively impacted by these regulations. SO WHY - you may ask - ARE AMERICANS SUBJECTED TO THESE CHEMICALS? Answer: most EU countries have socialized healthcare, so THEY foot the bill when these fucking chemicals start causing cancer or birth defects. So government subsidized healthcare even has value-added benefits. Go fucking figure... To hear more about this story, listen to the Fresh Air interview with the author here.

So I'm a few days late on mentioning this, but it's so damn funny I could restrain myself no longer. The latest in a ridiculously long list of toy recalls from Chinese manufacturers is for something called Aqua Dots (I can't, for the life of me, figure out how this thing works or why any kid might find it "super fun" - but whaddayado). As you can imagine, the recall stems from children eating the aforementioned Dots and getting sick. It seems that the manufacturer coated the beads in a "super fun" substance that, if swallowed, metabolizes as gamma hydroxybutyric acid or GHB - a drug widely used by ravers as a substitution for (or in tandem with) MDMA (ecstacy) or ketamine (special K) and also used by creepy guys as a substitution for Rohypnol for the purpose of getting into a chick's pants. Now why weren't there toys like this when I was a kid?
alright. i know that i just nominated sarkozy for the 'fucking asshole' award, but pakistan's president gen. pervez musharraf definitely has him beat. but does anyone see a pattern developing here? now i'm no political analyst, but it seems to me that the bush administration has been publicly admonishing other nations for doing some of the same things it has been accused of doing.
no - bush has not declared marshal law and suspended the constitution (yet...) like musharraf did last week. but is packing the pakistani supreme court with yes-men who will vote in your favor when the results of an election are not to your liking really THAT different from using your ol' buddy alberto to pack the justice department with "loyal bushies"? yes - they are not the same thing. BUT THIS IS FUCKING AMERICA!!!!! not a military dictatorship that will call itself a democracy for 12 billion dollars (which is how much the US has given pakistan since the beginning of the iraq war). i'll sew my ass cheeks together and call myself a frog for 12 billion dollars!! plus the bush administration has been wiping their assholes with the constitution for the last seven years, and does anyone really believe that bush legitimately won the 2000 election?
next we have the congressional hearing on yahoo!'s dealings with china 2 years ago. when china asked for the e-mail address of an 'anonymous' political blogger , yahoo! obliged. china then used this information to arrest and jail this man (he faces a ten year sentence for doing what i'm doing right fucking now). now that is VERY horrible and we ALL know that china sucks. but how is it that different from the NSA's warrantless wire tapping program that has been sanctioned by the bush administration since 2002? IT IS THE SAME FUCKING THING!!! who are we to slap yahoo! on the wrist for supplying china with this info when virtually every telecom company (except for Quest) has supplied our government with the exact same information for years! how many motherfuckers are sitting in a cell in gitmo or some black site in poland right now because of this illegally obtained intel?
and lastly, the catchword for the week and everyone's favorite form of torture - waterboarding!!! this one is just obvious and is yet another reason why i think that several members of this administration should be put on trial at the hague for crimes against humanity. the UN, NATO, and virtually every democratic organization includes waterboarding (simulated drowning) as a form of torture and a prosecutable offense. SHIT!! the US even convicted a japanese officer of war crimes for using this same form of torture during WW2 - he got 15 years of hard labor (precedent anyone?) there are countless incidents of members of the CIA and FBI and NSA using this as a form of interogation. hell, it's in the goddamn field manual. 1+1=2 and the US government is guilty of torture. END OF FUCKING STORY!! everything else is semantic masterbation.
with all of this said...how can we as a nation still agree that we live in the greatest democracy on the planet? ye without sin cast the first stone....
OK..It’s official. Nicolas Sarkozy is a fucking asshole.

I know you've all been suspecting this, like I have, for the past few months - so it should come as no great shock. After all, he did show up inebriated to the G8 summit:
I mean, really. Is it too much to ask of the President of France to NOT act like fucking four-year-old?
Hey everybody, word is Blackwater USA is currently hiring. I scanned their job listings and I didn't seem to find "Murderer" listed anywhere. So I encourage everyone to e-mail Blackwater's HR Department and notify them of this omission.
I'm not gonna go on account of my car bein' a piece of shit, but this should really be worth checking out. I don't know who the fuck 'curses!' is but para one, surkin, and orgasmic are guaranteed to rock the fuckin' party:
UPDATE!! Apparently Curses! is the alter ego of Drop the Lime, who also will rock the fuckin' party. So there ya go...
