OREGON SPORTS AND FITNESS EXPO 2009 Feb 27-28
Oregon Sports and Fitness Expo have teamed up with Desert Brawl Mixed Martial Arts to bring Central Oregon the latest in sports equipment, apparel, and fitness for our active lifestyle. The 2009 Oregon Sports and Fitness Expo are being presented by National Fitness and Desert Brawl. Oregon's largest health and fitness weekend will be Friday and Saturday, Feb 27, 28 at the Deschutes County Expo Center, 3800 SW Airport Way in Redmond, Oregon. Central Oregon has a long list of year round sports we all enjoy. This all day event is free to the public. It's a great venue for those seeking a healthier lifestyle, or to find a new sport or hobby. Attendees will find hundreds of exciting exhibits and events offering the newest in fitness, diet, nutrition, strength and wellness products and services. Vendors and sports enthusiasts alike will be able to see firsthand the cutting edge in sports and fitness related equipment and services. During both days of the Expo, many leading fitness professionals will be presenting educational seminars and demonstrations on subjects such as proper nutrition and dieting, exercise philosophies, making health and fitness your business and many more.
Oregon Sports and Fitness Expo will top off the event with 10 full contact cage fights Saturday night! Featured in the main event is Desert Brawl originator and founder JT "Outlaw" Taylor (Desert Dogs MMA) taking on the Northwest number one ranked Welterweight Champion Mike Pierce (Braveheart MMA). Taylor is coming out of retirement, and taking on the younger Pierce should be fight that matches "youth" vs. "skill". Mixed martial arts competitors are true athletes that employ the training and nutrition principals of strength, power and fitness, the cornerstone of Oregon Sports and Fitness Expo. We're are excited to have the biggest names in the sport teaching and signing autographs at our show.
Desert Brawl is a pioneer in live MMA events, and return to present "Pride and Glory". We'll have 10 live MMA cage fights featuring some of the hottest fighters and biggest stars in mixed martial arts. This event will be held on Saturday, February 28 from 8-10 pm. A Desert Brawl promoter stated, "It's great to be teaming up with at the Oregon Sports and Fitness Expo, bringing the best of the sport up close and personal to the city of Redmond."
The Oregon Sports and Fitness Expo complimentary MMA seminar track will be hosted by Professional MMA fighters, featuring many of today's top athletes. On Saturday Nov 1 Bend at the Indoor Soccer Center, "Desert Brawl 35" returns for A collision of Oregon's toughest warriors with 12 full contact cage fights. Nov 1 will be full of Knock outs and Tap outs, The Desert Dogs and Team React will be taking on the toughest fighters in the Northwest.
Local Bend Desert Dog fighter Justin "Freight Train " Fratto ( 8-0-1) will be returning to the cage to defend his 145 lbs (Cruiser weight) title. Squaring off with S.A.G.A fighter, Portland's Kevin Reece (4-1), Fratto has a long history of boxing and has adapted to MMA in a very short time ! Fratto is known to stand a swing till someone goes down, and kevin Reece has the same reputation .
This will be a true test for bolth of these hard hitting "Ultimate Warriors." Reece has only one loss to the hands of Desert Dogs Fighter Rocky Jarret. He returns to Bend once again to take on another Desert Dog fighter! This fight won't be one to miss !
Desert Brawl 3X Champion Tomi "Last Minute"Massey (9-3) proves he is here to stay by taking a rematch fight with up and coming Northern California Champion Joshua Lagrange 6-1).
Since there last fight, Lagrange has torn through his last six opponents and is back for a real test two years later.Facing Tomi Massey, Desert Brawl 35's co-main event ! Both of these fighters bring some real skills to the fight. This should be a great battle between these very skilled Veteran's! Lagrange is coming to Bend for revenge. HE wants to take the Desert Brawl Title back to California .
Desert Brawl Bantam Weight Champion Ryan "Ryful" Fulton ( 6-0) takes on Portland's undefeated Brave-Heart MMA Champion Nick"Tick"Williams. Brave-Heart MMA has been producing some high caliber fighters Rumors suggest Williams is a the real deal and a serious challenger to the young Ryan Fulton . This fight will be a classic battle between a wrestler anda Jiu-Jitsu Artist. Although both of these fighters are well rounded, this fight could stop at any second or be a long battle between these two! Bolth of these fighters are undefeated, and someone will be walking away with another win and one will walk with his first loss !

Desert Brawl middelweight champion Derek "Strangler"Jones is stepping back into the cage after a eighteen month layofff due to injurys . A sever bicept injury has keept this Bend native out of action for way to long. "The strangler" Darek Jones has a great record of 4-1 and holds the DB middle weight belt and will be looking to defend his title from challenger also 4-1 "The lion" leo Mccdonald from Coos Bay Oregon.Mccdonald with a impressive Knock Out of his last opponent with percicsion accuracy will be looking to swing some heavy leather and keep this fight on their feet as these two warriors battle to take home the Desert Brawl title to their home town.
