You’re gonna need a bigger Blog.....(a Boblog)

I think I used to believe that Harrison Ford was the first person to convey cool to me on screen but I realize it was Roy Scheider.(the big screen...obviously the Fonz fulfilled all the criteria for cool on the the small screen -at least until he put a life preserver on over his leather jacket http://www.jumpedtheshark.com/index.jspa) My Dad was a great guy and did a bang up job considering he had 12 kids...(and it would seem a "screamin' libido"©) But there were times when Roy seemed like he'd make a cool dad...He was an amazing actor that we didn't hear much about since the mid 80's...His ability to convey cool, fear and control all at the same time in "Jaws" is the kind of detail that can lack with our new CGI blockbusters. So, I'm looking forward to some "French Connection", "All That Jazz", "Marathon Man", "Still of the Night". and, of course, "Blue Thunder".

I'm guessing tonight the Fonz's thump will be at half-mast as the world has lost a bit of it's cool....

BDiddy

I want to be a rockstar.....(Boblog)

And though that might be true.....I am, unfortunately, referencing a Nickelback song. And, no, this is NOT a rant on Nickelback (sooo tempting) cause every time I start to spout off about them I think about a car ride to Detroit where my dad lectured me about Benny Goodman...most likely after I played him the opening to "Hot For Teacher"...hoping to bridge the generation gap. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22118093/

No, this is just to share and try to help the aforementioned "Currency Themed" band to use their powers for good and not for BLAND. http://www.nme.com/blog/index.php?blog=10&title=led_zeppelin_live_footage_from_o2_arena__1&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1

Enjoy!

NEXT UP: Does anyone really know what time it is?.....or where Peter Cetera went?

ungrammatically yours,

Boblog

Moon Units Gotta Gun.....

A blog from Bob: My Ninja friend recently gave me a shit load of Frank Zappa. And I do mean - a shit LOAD. (It actually just appeard on my I-pod, and I'm still trying to figure out how the Ninja did it!) Now, truth be told, I can only listen to so much, and since I'm a fan of the "shuffle",  I have to forward over a lot. Actually, most of my "I-time" is spent forwarding past a shit load of Zappa AND a shit load of Stones. I love me some RS but how many versions of Pain it Black do I have to hear. And after 150 times - I don't care if "Charlie sounds good tonight", Mick!!

But the Zappa has been nice to discover (I'm a slow Muscial Magellan). It also brought back a long lost Zappa connection. When I was but a teen - I went to the NAMM show in Chicago. My reason? because the rumor was Eddie would be there hot off the release of 5150. (Sidenote: Eddie was there and I stood right next to him. I was too nervous to ask for an autograph..and his hands are too important to shake willy-nilly) The next rumor was that he'd be performing later that night at an "All-Star Jam". So, my friend and I went and got seats in the balcony. Was a pleasant enough evening...it was an "All-Star Jam" of 80's rock heroes....some more disposable then others.....the best part was the "sort of" cutie sitting in front of us...playful, coy... and though she sported quite the hood ornament.....maybe I'd be getting lucky in Chicago...Since I wasn't getting lucky in Michigan in those days. So, I leaned in to give her some line about how Neal Schon hasn't played the same since "Infinity"...and much to my surprise it's Moon Unit Zappa ("Mom, Dad, this is Moon Unit"). Who in an instant made me feel like Ducky when she squirted me with water. I sat back in my seat and waited for the longhaired guitar player from Night Ranger to finish his shredding. I do thank her for the experience....cause every once in a while (and actually RARELY)..at a bar...drunk...when one of my more learned musical friends would spout off about Zappa in an effort to show off....I could always be heard interjecting..."Moon Unit squirted me with water".....Thanks, Moon...my parents would never have accepted you....

Sorry for the run-ons,

Bob

P.S. Up Next: "MySpace Giveth And MySpace Taketh Away" - Why I think everyone should delete Tila T-what'shername from their friendlist. That show Stinks.....
