Mike tells me this story-
So Mike is in the bathroom shaving and Laura walks in. She is facing the toilet, which has a mirror over it, and the soap dish has been moved to the top of the toilet so Mike has room to shave. Laura starts freaking out saying:
"Get it off me! Get it off me!"
And Mike is thinking:
"What is so wrong with the soap dish being on the toilet?"
Well it turns out that Laura had a praying mantis on her and saw it in the mirror when she walked into the bathroom.

This Situation

she says she hurts
you are the one
who is supposed to care
you apologize
then keep living the lies
you used to care
she used to be your world
as far as she knew
nothing had changed
but you keep showing her
how little she really means to you
and you think she will be happy?
she loves you
she knows that you made her happy
and all she wants
is to return things to the way they were
when you both made each other happy
but you can't seem to see that
you don't seem to care
she pulls out her hair
from the frustration
of this confusing situation
she doesn't know what to do anymore

Today is my second daughter's birthday. She is 8. She was adopted as a baby and lives with her family here in Colorado.

it seems so long ago
that I let you go
from my loving arms

time has moved by so fast
but not fast enough
eight years seems so long
but ten more years is even longer
with that last kiss
