Ohne Strom

Wenn man über das schreiben soll, was gestern in Polen passiert ist, sucht man lange nach den richtigen Worten, denn man muß und will doch vor allem anderen deutlich machen, daß es sich lediglich um die Resultate ideologischer Auswucherungen einiger weniger Individuen handelt, nicht aber um das Gedankengut eines ganzen Landes.

Zu aller erst jedoch möchte ich an dieser Stelle aber zum Ausdruck bringen, daß es uns unendlich Leid tut, daß wir gestern nicht für euch spielen konnten. Wir alle hatten uns sehr auf das Konzert gefreut ...

Sicher sind unsere Arbeit und meine Botschaften nicht immer leicht zu verstehen, und man kann ja auch nicht gerade behaupten, daß ich es Lesern wie Hörern gerade leicht mache, aber eins sollte doch aus meinen Worten stets klar und deutlich hervorgegangen sein: ...

Wir sind weder Schwarzmagiere noch Satanisten. Wir glorifizieren oder unterstützen derartiges Gedankengut zudem in keinster Weise. Ich hoffe dieser Punkt ist hiermit ein für allemal und in aller Deutlichkeit geklärt!

Ich sehe die Welt sicherlich sehr kritisch und bin außerdem oft erschüttert über die Dinge, die da draußen geschehen, aber im Endeffekt haben die religiösen Fanatiker, die die Stromzufuhr zum gestrigen Konzert in Klodzko durchtrennt haben und somit ein ganzes Festivalereignis zerstörten, meine Skepsis am menschlichen Verstand erneut untermauert und in meinen Augen lediglich ihre Intoleranz und Unfähigkeit in der heutigen Welt zu leben und zu Kommunizieren zum Ausdruck gebracht.

Ich respektiere Gläubigkeit und Religion. Das beteure ich stets. Ich denke jedoch, daß die Basis eines jeden Zusammenlebens nur dann gewährleistet ist, wenn dieser Respekt gegenseitig vorzufinden ist.

Wir lassen uns jedoch von derartigen Ereignissen in keinster Weise einschüchtern oder verjagen. Wir werden wieder nach Polen kommen, um dort für viele treue Fans unsere Musik live zu präsentieren, und am Ende muß doch vor allem eins klar sein: Nur wer spricht, dem kann geholfen werden. Sprecht mit uns, und ihr werdet sehen, wieviel uns Toleranz und Gleichberechtigung bedeutet.

... und wie sagt Prof. Dr. Hans Joachim Meyer, der Präsident des ZdK (Zentralkomitte der deutschen Katholiken), auf www.zdk.de so schön:

"Als Christen sind wir dazu aufgerufen, aus unserem Glauben heraus unsere grundlegenden Werte in die Gestaltung der Welt einzubringen, solidarisch zu sein mit den Menschen unserer Zeit. Wir sind Teil der Gesellschaft und identifizieren uns mit ihr. Wir stehen ihr aber auch in kritischer Distanz gegenüber. In dieser Distanz werden christliche Freiheit und das Wissen um eine Wirklichkeit, die irdisches Dasein übersteigt, deutlich. Im Dialog untereinander und mit allen Menschen, die die Überzeugung von der Unveräußerlichkeit der Würde eines jeden Menschen teilen, wollen wir nach Wegen suchen, wie wir dem Auftrag zur Solidarität gerecht werden können."

... und nun fragen wir uns doch wohl zu Recht, wo diese Solidarität und Würde gestern geblieben ist! Einen Dialog habe ich wohl auch verpaßt, denn eine kritische Distanz läßt sich bekanntlich nur so überwinden.

Herzliche Grüße an all die Menschen, die tiefer blicken, welchem Glauben oder welcher religiösen oder spirituellen Gesinnung sie auch immer angehören mögen, denn letztendlich legen nicht nur Deine Worte ein Zeugnis über Dich ab, sondern vor allem Deine Taten.

Without electricity

It's difficult to write about what happened in Poland yesterday. I've been searching for the right words because you have to point out first and foremost that yesterday's actions were only the results of ideological excrecences of a few people and do not represent the way of thought of a whole country.

First of all, I would like to emphasize how sorry we are that we couldn't play for you yesterday. We were all really looking forward to the gig …

Yes, it might be that our work and my messages are not always easy to understand, and I surely wouldn't claim I make it easy for listeners or readers but from all I've written up to now, one thing should be very clear:

We are neither black magicians nor satanists. We don't glorify or support such ideas – not in the least. I hope this has been made clear once and for all!

I have a very critical view of the world and I am often shocked about the things happening in the world. But eventually the religious fanatics who cut the electricity for last night's concert at Klodzko, ruining a whole festival, have only strengthened my sceptical attitude towards human intelligence. In my mind, they have only demonstrated their intolerance and inability to live in a modern world and to communicate in it.

I do respect individual faith and religion. That's something I have always asserted. Still, I think that the foundation for human beings living together is respect – and that it only works if this respect is mutual.

Actions like these do not intimidate us or chase us away, on the contrary. We will come to Poland again to play our music to our loyal fans, and in the end, one thing must be clear: Things can be solved only if you open your mouth and speak. Talk with us, and you will see how much tolerance and equality mean to us.

To say it with the words of Prof. Dr. Hans Joachim Meyer, president of the Central Committee of German Catholics, ZdK, on www.zdk.de:

„As christians we are asked to bring the morals and ethics of our faith into the world, to show solidarity with the people living in our time. We are a part of society and we identify with it. We also keep a critical distance. This distance shows our christian freedom and our knowledge about a reality that surpasses our earthly existence. We will try to look for a way to master the call for solidarity by starting a dialogue in our midst and with all people who share our belief in the inalienability of human dignity."

… and now we are asking ourselves – justifiably, I'd say – where this solidarity and dignity went! I must have also missed the dialogue, and as we all know, talking is really the only way to bridge a critical distance …

Cordial greetings to all people with a deeper insight, whatever faith or religious or spiritual belief they might have. In the end, not only your words will show your true colours but first of all, your deeds will do.

Sin electricidad:

Al escribir sobre lo que aconteció ayer en Polonia tarda uno buscando las palabras adecuadas, ya que uno tiene que y quiere hacerle ver a los demás que solamente se trata del resultado de una explosión ideológica de unos pocos individuos y no de la manera de pensar de todo un país.

En primer lugar quiero expresar aquí, que nos da mucha pena que el día de ayer no hayamos podido tocar para Ustedes. A todos nosotros nos hubiera encantado hacerlo.

Con seguridad nuestro trabajo y mis mensajes no son siempre fáciles de entender y tampoco se puede afirmar que yo se lo facilite tanto a los lectores como al auditorio, sin embargo la esencia mis palabras debe quedar siempre muy clara y evidente:
Ni practicamos magia negra ni somos satanistas. De ninguna manera glorificamos o apoyamos tal manera de pensar. ¡Espero que este punto quede aquí de una vez y para siempre completamente aclarado!

Con toda seguridad mi punto de vista del mundo es muy crítico y a menudo me siento conmovido por las cosas que pasan allá afuera, pero al final los fanáticos religiosos que el día de ayer cortaron el suministro eléctrico durante el concierto en Klodzko – al destruir un evento festivo – confirmaron nuevamente mi escepticismo sobre el comportamiento humano y expresaron su incapacidad de vivir y comunicarse en el mundo actual.

Respeto creencia y religión. Siempre lo he reafirmado. Sin embargo creo que la base de toda convivencia sólo está garantizada cuando ese respeto es mutuo.

No nos dejamos ni intimidar ni ahuyentar de ninguna manera por tales acontecimientos. Regresaremos a Polonia para presentar nuestra música en vivo a nuestros numerosos y leales aficionados  y finalmente debe quedar también claro: Sólo hablando se entiende la gente. Hablen con nosotros y verán cuánto significan para nosotros tolerancia e igualdad.

... y como una vez dijera en forma tan hermosa el Prof. Dr. Hans Joachim Meyer, presidente del comité central de los católicos alemanes, en www.zdk.de:
"Como cristianos estamos llamados, partiendo de nuestra creencia, a aplicar nuestros valores fundamentales a la formación del mundo y ser solidarios con los seres humanos de nuestro tiempo. Somos parte de la sociedad y nos identificamos con ella. Sin embargo mantenemos una cierta distancia crítica. Desde esta distancia se vuelve aparente la libertad cristiana y el conocimiento de una realidad que sobrepasa la existencia terrenal. En el diálogo entre si y con todos los que comparten la convicción de lo inenajenable de la dignidad de cada ser humano, queremos buscar formas para valorar debidamente nuestra misión de solidaridad."

... y ahora nos preguntamos, con razón, ¡en dónde quedaron el día de ayer esta solidaridad y dignidad! Pasé por alto el diálogo, ya que como se sabe sólo así se puede sobrepasar una distancia crítica.

Un cordial saludo para todos aquellos que pueden mirar lo esencial, sin importar qué inclinación religiosa o espiritual tengan, ya que finalmente no sólamente tus palabras hablan por ti, sino más bien tus frutos.

Die sogenannte "Ethik-Komission" (was auch immer das genau sein mag) eines ehrenwerten deutschen Presswerks (dessen Namen wir aus rechtlichen Gründen an dieser Stelle leider nicht nennen dürfen) lehnte die Herstellung des Covers unserer Nekrolog 43 Redux Schallplatte rigoros ab, da sie der unabänderlichen Auffassung ist, daß es sich bei Diary of Dreams um Schwarzmagiere handelt. Wir sind natürlich sehr erstaunt darüber, denn das war uns selbst ja noch nicht einmal bekannt! :) Vielleicht hätte die Auflage aber einfach nur 6-stellig sein müssen, dann hätte die Ethik-Komission sicherlich ein Auge zugedrückt, gell? Ob sie ein SAW Cover wohl auch ablehnen würden? Fraglich.

Wie dem auch sei: Ein anderes Presswerk hat sich seltsamerweise völlig bedenkenlos dazu bereit erklärt, diesen Herstellungsauftrag zu übernehmen und nun ist sie endlich da ...: die erste Diary of Dreams LP. Was lange währt, wird also endlich gut: Die streng limitierte Nekrolog 43 Redux LP als Picture Disc mit aufklappbarem Cover jetzt erhältlich NUR bei www.accession-shop.de ... Ethics Nekrolog

The so-called "Ethic Commission" (whoever may hide behind this moniker) of an honorable German pressing plant (which we can't mention by name because of legal reasons) savagely refused to produce the cover of our vinyl album Nekrolog 43 Redux – they held the opinion that Diary of Dreams were black magicians. Of course we were quite surprised to hear about that since we didn't even know that for ourselves! :) Maybe we should have ordered a six digit number of copies, and the Ethic Commission might have turned a blind eye to our satanic nature.
One wonders whether they would say no to a SAW cover, too. Who knows …

But anyway, another pressing plant had no reservations about the production, strangely enough. And finally, here it is … the first Diary of Dreams vinyl album. All's well that ends well, so to say. The strictly limited Nekrolog 43 Redux vinyl album is now available as picture disc in a gatefold sleeve, only at www.accession-shop.de … We thank you for your patience and your understanding in this matter.

Ética Nekrolog...

La así llamada "Comisión de ética" (lo que quiera que sea) de un honorable productor alemán de discos (cuyo nombre no debemos mencionar en este lugar por razones legales) rechazó rigurosamente la producción de la portada de nuestro disco Nekrolog 43 Redux, por ser de la opinión irrevocable que en cuanto a Diary of Dreams se trata de "magia negra". Esto nos asombra mucho, ya que ni nosotros mismos sabíamos que lo fuéramos. :) Tal vez si la edición hubiera sido de por lo menos 6 dígitos, la comisión de ética se hubiera hecho de la vista gorda ¿no creen? Se hubiera negado a imprimir una portada de SAW? Lo dudamos.

Como sea: una empresa diferente estuvo dispuesta – sin vacilar – a aceptar este pedido y finalmente salió ...: el primer LP en vinilo de Diary of Dreams. El que quiera celeste, que le cueste: el LP Nekrolog Redux, un disco con imagen y con portada desplegable, está ahora disponible en edición estríctamente limitada EXCLUSIVAMENTE en www.accession-shop.de ... Produktionsstatus des neuen Albums:

Wie wir erfahren durften, befinden sich Adrian und Gaun:a mit Rainer Assman im White Room III Studio in der Endphase der Abmischungen. In zwei Wochen soll das fertige Master schon vorliegen. Die nächsten Schritte werden nun die bis ins Kleinste vorbereiteten Foto-Shootings sein, sowie die grafische Gestaltung der Limited Edition. Aufgrund dieser nun doch überraschend überpünktlichen Termintreue wurde uns mitgeteilt, daß eine Veröffentlichung des Albums nun schon für Ende Oktober geplant ist.
Laut Adrian handelt es sich bei der neuen CD um die Verschmelzung der vertrauten Diary-Tugenden mit einer besonderen Konzentration auf Extreme. Adrian dazu wörtlich: "Ich glaube sehr an die kompromißlose
Kraft der neuen Stücke."

New DoD album: production progresses as planned:
 
There's news from the DoD camp: Adrian and Gaun:a have joined Rainer Assman at the White Room III studio for the finishing touches of the mix. The complete master is supposed to be completed in two weeks. After that, the foto shootings will take place, planned as usual in the most minute detail; and work on the graphic design of the limited edition CD is also about to start. Since the band is surprisingly on schedule with the whole production, we were informed that the album will be released already at the end of October 2007. Adrian described the newest DoD output as a combination of the typical Diary qualities and a strong emphasis on extremes. "I really believe in the uncompromising power of the new tracks", he said.

Estado actual de la fase productiva del nuevo álbum:

Nos enteramos de que Adrian y Gaun:a están en el estudio White Room III con Rainer Assman en la fase final de las mezclas. La matriz se habrá terminado dentro de dos semanas. Los siguientes pasos serán las sesiones fotográficas, entretanto minuciosamente preparadas, así como la creación gráfica de la edición limitada. A la vista del calendario sorprendentemente superpuntual se nos informó que el álbum podrá publicarse ya a fines de octubre. Según Adrian, el nuevo CD representa una fusión entre las bien conocidas virtudes de Diary of Dreams y una concentración especial en extremos. Citando Adrian:"Creo fuertemente en la fuerza incondicional de las nuevas canciones".:

Klangfusion – Fusión de sonido

Klangfusion:

Einen weiteren Leckerbissen, den wir euch ans Herz legen möchten, ist die am 27. Juli 2007 bei Accession Records erscheinende Klangfusion Vol.1. Auf dieser [:SITD:]/Painbastard Doppel MCD-Box im Digipak mit insgesamt 18 Songs findet ihr unter vielen musikalischen Perlen auch eine von Painbastard erstellte Coverversion des Diary of Dreams-Klassikers "MenschFeind". Als Gäste ließen es sich Adrian Hates und Gaun:a nicht nehmen, diese Coverversion neu zu besingen und mit Gitarrenriffs zu versehen. Allen Diary of Dreams-Fans sei diese außergewöhnliche Version hiermit ans Herz gelegt.
