Mini Dichro Cabs for Metal Clay Jewelry Artists
Current mood: excited
Category: Fashion, Style, Shopping
Fused glass makes a beautiful addition to precious metal clay jewelry - and I'm now offering mini-cabs for this purpose! They are available in assorted lots of 6 mm and 8 mm cabs. I checked each cab to be sure that it fits securely into a fine silver bezel cup (not included). As always, custom orders are available so if you need specific colors or matched sets, let me know!

Earring a Day: Thistle Dangle Earrings
Category: Fashion, Style, Shopping
Today's earrings also feature purple stones - but this time I know what they are - Lepidolite. These pearly purple 8x10 mm oval stones hang on handmade ball-pins and are accented with delicate silver lined purple seed beads. The Thai silver post earring top has a pretty cutout leaf pattern.
You can see more pictures of these earrings in their listing on Etsy.com.

Earring a Day: Purple Mystery Dangle Earrings
Current mood: confused
Category: Fashion, Style, Shopping
These earrings have beautiful light purple stones that I can't seem to identify - even with the help of lots of Etsy jewelry designers. The purple mystery stones are accented with smoky quartz atop hand-wound spirals. Length is 35 mm (1 3/4 inches). Components are sterling.
You can see more pictures of these earrings in their listing on Etsy.com.

Today's earrings are a bright and fun. They have Rhodonite and Green Chalk Turquoise stones, accented by a Karen Hill Tribe silver rondelle. The sterling silver earring tops are posts with a unique curved half hoop, and I made the headpins myself!

Earring a Day: Leafy Tree Agate Dangles
Current mood: artistic
Category: Fashion, Style, Shopping
I've decided that, as a creative exercise, I'm going to make a pair of earrings every day and write about it in my blog. These are the first pair.
I hand-wound thick sterling silver wire into a spiral to hold the tree agate stone, and added a Karen Hill Tribe silver leaf accent. The twisted wire sterling silver earring hooks are one of my favorite findings! You can see more pictures of these earrings in their listing on Etsy.com.

Dichroic Card Protectors for Texas Hold'em
Current mood: excited
Category: Fashion, Style, Shopping
I thought I'd show off my new invention: fused glass card protectors for poker players!
Card protectors (also called card guards, spinners or covers), are usually made with sterling silver, and are popular with the Texas Hold'em crowd. I'm more of a member of the Go Fish crowd, but even I can see why card protectors are a must have for serious poker players.
After your cards are dealt, you place the cards face-down and put the card protector on top of them. This prevents the dealer from accidentally grabbing your cards, thinking that you have folded.
It also protects your cards from being accidentally mucked (declared dead) by another player, which can happen if their cards accidentally touch your cards. If it is clear which cards are yours and which are someone else's, your hand won't be declared dead. The card protector also weighs the cards down, protecting them from falling off the table (another way your hand can be mucked).
Fused dichroic glass is the perfect material for card protectors, because it's flashy and will probably distract the other players with its cool color changes, but also has the strength and durability necessary for something that will be tossed onto a poker table.
Check out my fused glass card protectors here!
