Pour sa 4ème finale nationale, la fiévreuse Fédération Française d'Air Guitar revient du côté du Parc de la Villette, où elle connut ses premiers grands émois en 2005, et investira le Trabendo à Paris le jeudi 26 juin à 20h, pour donner le coup d'envoi d'un été qui s'annonce furieusement chaud et festif !
Au programme : un show décapant, avec THOMAS VDB en maître de cérémonie toujours aussi hilarant'n'caustique, des air guitar heroes hauts en couleurs et abusant à souhait de jeux de scène provocants et envoûtants, surchauffant les groupies en délire! Sans oublier, AIRNADETTE, le air band décoiffant né de la fusion de l'Air Guitar et de la Brosse à Cheveux (playback)...
Dernier round d'un tour de France et de sélections régionales, cette finale permettra de désigner le meilleur guitariste virtuel national, digne de partir représenter notre beau pays aux championnats du monde en Finlande le 22 août prochain, et capable de détrôner notre champion actuel Moche Pitt, également vice champion du monde !

"Primavera Sound 2008, Barcelona 29th May - 1st June '08 – This is a year dominated by the old guard. Despite a programme that reads like Pitchfork's buzz list, Young Marble Giants, whose sole LP, Colossal Youth, came out nearly three decades ago, deliver the performance of the festival, if not the year. They're less a live epiphany (they're almost motionless on stage) than a stark reminder of what it means - what it should mean - to be an artist, to be human, to struggle to understand one's place in the universe. They're as seminal as Joy Division but without the relentless namechecking and photogenic biopics; as enraged and engaged, but delivering their barbed commentary with clenched-jaw, shiver-inducing minimalist restraint. There's an extraordinary frisson to watching a quartet of 40-somethings, professionally obsessed with the fleeting moments of youth, excavate the fruit of their adolescence from the amber it was set in after an untimely 1980 dissolution. Playing with a live drummer instead of, famously, a slightly crap homemade drum machine, their sound is more rounded live than on record, but no less resonantly vacant. Alison Statton's crystalline but deliberately unpolished vocals float above the high, melodic bass and rumbly rhythm guitar, the two almost impossible to untwine. They close with "Credit in the Straight World", still the sharpest interrogation of underground culture of the last 50 years. As reunions go, this is as magical, as untainted by the passage of time, as anyone could hope for."

"By the third day of Primavera I was starting to feel a little bit out of my depth, what with all those crazy full-on emotions and shit, anyhow, I spent half of Young Marble Giants' show crying my heart out over the sweet music that they created in the Auditori stage, exquisitely pretty and heartfelt, melancholic and, all the more beautiful for its humility, this is the sound that imperfect bodies make while moving awkward in the kitchen of a house in the suburbs on a rainy Autumn afternoon, washing some coffee mugs after a break-up for which no-one is to blame, music soundtracking, standing for and representing the emotions, hopes and sadness of real people, small, yes, but real.
It touches upon a truth that burns in every beating heart once you get past the grandiose illusions and fake dramas staged by the automatons of the society of spectacle, and in its confident return to the roots of what binds us together, is deeply political, just thinking about it makes me feel all warm inside, I love it so much."
