Reading the news stories about victims and abusers, writ large in society, writ in detail in families, schools, at work, at play and as cannon-fodder to this or that belief system, that ideology.
Mumbai, a case in point. Previous events like this have taken place in India, and many. Only they seemed to have almost exclusively occurred in areas where only the ultra-poor, the poor live, and a few occassions in places where workers and low middle class pass.
This is the first 'hit' on the rich sector of Indian Society.
A shock.
I have recently re-read "Shock Doctrine!" by Naomi Klein. Worth reading, as it makes clear the relationship between the economic ideology of neo-liberal trade, it's implementation and war in the 20th and 21st Centuries.
If this terrible murder spree was a shock, inflicted with intent, then what of that intent?
Exactly Who's intent?
Qui Bono?
Until we know exactly who sponsored this crime, by way of a clear and fully open investigation, with immediate effect, by the Hague International Criminal Tribunal, the kind of investigation the US Government so studiously avoided, mandated to arrest those responsible for the commissions of war crimes, such as sponsoring armed groups, armies and paramilitaries in wars of destabilisation in Sovereign Countries.
In the meantime check with democracy nows really insightful and frank exchange of views from people who have direct knowledge of India, many years of experience and a sound comprehension of what has taken place in Mumbai. Their explanations make more sense than anything the media has uttered.
The official music video from the x-factor featuring all the finalists singing Hero with Mariah Carey looks like government propaganda to me. It is a pretty blatant example and I felt it demanded a more realistic response.I wrote a book called 'Posters and Propaganda in Wartime' about the posters that the government used, particularly to encourage people to enlist in the first world war, and nothing compares to this multimedia bombardment. I
have no idea whether the people involved were fully aware of what they were doing, but as medialens.org, Chomsky and others explains in detail, the people who propagate the myth of the liberal media often have no idea of the role they are playing. I have simply re-edited the video to show the other side of war.The invasion of Iraq was illegal was not sanctioned by international law.
One of the crucial questions that has still not been answered is - What happened between 7 March 2003 and a week later for Lord Goldsmith to change his legal opinion from a 20 page document concluding that war was illegal to a one page summary concluding the opposite? This was crucial otherwise the leaders of the armed forces would not have let their men into the war.
It is obvious that Tony Blair manipulated the members of his cabinet by not showing them the full opinion. We do not have to support this illegal war. We do not have to accept propaganda from people who do not even realise they are producing it. And not only do we not have to support our troops, but we have to stand up against them and work to convince them through reason that their continued involvement in an illegal occupation is wrong.
We can not disarm and get rid of our nuclear weapons which cost us billions each year unless we accept the rule of law as the late Robin Cook pointed out [1]- we are no longer a world superpower. Our interests are best served by the rule of law, not unilateral action which will come back to haunt us. Please get other people to watch this video, especially those that bought the single and bought into the disgusting 'hero' propaganda. Thank you.
***********************[1]From Robin Cook's Resignation Speech:
"The reality is that Britain is being asked to embark on a war without agreement in any of the international bodies of which we are a leading partner -- not NATO, not the European Union and, now, not the Security Council. To end up in such diplomatic weakness is a serious reverse. Only a year ago, we and the United States were part of a coalition against terrorism that was wider and more diverse than I would ever have imagined possible. History will be astonished at the diplomatic miscalculations that led so quickly to the disintegration of that powerful coalition.
The US can afford to go it alone, but Britain is not a superpower. Our interests are best protected not by unilateral action but by multilateral agreement and a world order governed by rules. Yet tonight the international partnerships most important to us are weakened: the European Union is divided; the Security Council is in stalemate. Those are heavy casualties of a war in which a shot has yet to be fired."

I went out this morning to get some keys cut. The keycutter and shoe repair kiosk is just outside the tube station. 200 yards from my front door.
Across a busy road. It was cold. I had forgot my hat. I walked quickly, and swept into the kiosk, to semr. (smily )keymaker, who hails from Pakistan, was listening to a tallish, 50s Caucasian man of the street, holding forth with some heat.
Mr. "I stayed"( I will call him this throughout) " here in England throughout 3 recessions, and I still have my job. I've worked bloody hard for what I have." he said. I sat down.
Silence. I looked up and there he was.Facing me. Cloth cap.Short grey needing a cut wiry hair. Bottle eye glasses, black bomber jacket, Mr. Istayed appeared to be agitated. His face had the appearance of being somewhat 'scrunched'....
I turned and looked around to my right and I observed my neighbour, sat opposite me ,so that we three made a triangle in the front of the kiosk, Mr.Keymaker behind the counter. I smiled. My neighbour smiled back. A gentle nod of the head. Silence...
"AND when EVER it gets tough over there, they ALL come over here! When Pakistan was in trouble, they all came over here. When Iran was in trouble they all came over here. When Somalia was in trouble, with terrorists, they all came over here. Bloody coming over here and settling in and doing well. Why can't they do as I, and bloody stay there and work it through?! Not run off to a welfare country!"
A moments silence.
I couldn't help myself.
"Yet THAT's not necessarily the full story, is it?" I said. "Can I get these keys cut, please?" to Mr.Keymaker, smiling. I handed over the keys. Mr.Keyman hovered near his key machine in the recess. Whirring. Grinding. Sparks.
I turned to Istayed, and continued to share my opinion..I raised my voice above the din of new keys being cut.
"I mean to say, with regard to Sudan, for example : we know that the US facilitated the arming of the violent paramilitary 'rebels' by providing weapons, cash, training and other aid to the countries contingent. Eritrea, Rwanda, Ethiopia. Those Governments passed arms to 'militia' that 'opposed' the Democraticmuslim moderate social development administration in place. Those movements of social development models for economies, environment etc etc were seen as a threat by US and UK BUsiness Corporations. And thats why the wars happen- because we want to sell weapons as a business, PrivateEnterpise."
Mr. Istayed looked a bit confused. Mr Keymaker knew exactly what I was saying. Smily neighbour continued to smile and indicated comprehension. After a short pause, Istayeds confusion turned to resolution, smile smiled and I was addressed thus :
"You KNOW what the real problem is, don't ya?!" said my new Friend, he of tenacious spirit and patriotic fervour. Apparently he had decided to act is if I had indeed stayed mute, and said nothing. It didn't happen. Typical behaviour of a gainfully if mindmongingly educated and now successfully 'employed person'.
Not a scrounger nor a complainer. Not he.
I said "Well, if you ask me, and you have, our society is.....-" Istayedchugged. He had the answer.
I looked to my sudden friend, and stood up to brace myself for the soon to be revealed glistening pearl of wisdom. It came.
"We haven't had a proper war in 60 years. What we need is a real world war!" Said with the passion of a CEO selling aspartame to children, bereft in elegance, eloquently blunt, unable to hide behind artifice, devoid of spin.
"We've had no war on these islands for a long time, yes you can say that.... and - at the same time there's been non stop war since WWII. The west and china and others have all been supporting violent non-Democratic regimes for political and for business purposes for ages. Everyone knows that!"
"Well, nothing like the carpet bombing of Vietnam. That's war. Nothing like that" Mr. Istayed huffed dismissively.
"IRAQ! For SURE THEY'VE BOMBED IRAQ!" I squealed almost in delight!
"Well they used cruise missiles, direct to their targets, very little collateral damage, precision bombs." this whilst making his hand spear the air like a .... rocket. He stayed. sigh!
"Well they haven't being carpet bombing in Iraq!" added Mr. Keymaker, helpfully. Moving the conversation along is a skill he has to use from time to time in his profession capacity.
"They've been using planes to bomb in Iraq since 1991..... that's absurd" I retorted. Assertive, and polite, of course.
"Oh it is true,my friend, I assure you it is true! No B52 Carpet bombing in Iraq. Gunships, fighters and missiles - no B52 Bombers at all! Afghanistan, yes! Iraq - no!" He uttered these words with a certainty that was all but convincing.....
The new keys slammed to the counter surface. "CLACK!!"
Mr. Keymaker then chimed in with what I felt was the most surreal comment yet.
"What we need .......... is the Atom Bomb, thats what stopped the wars!" he said.
"Blow up Baghdad. Blow up Tehran. Blow up Afghanistan. Atomic bombs! destroy them all and they will surrender! All over! No more war!" He enthused!
Mr. Istayed heartily agreed with this, his demeanour relaxing a bit, perhaps relieved a little to be part of a team, to sense the reinforcements again, and unfortunately Mr. Smiley smiled his indicative smile, also in apparent agreement. He might have been smiling ironically, drawing the best out of the situation, with the delicacy of a laughing Buddha.....
At this I contemplated throwing all caution to the wind. And all too soon, Mr. Istayed, noting my accent deriving from this my nationality/ethnic back ground, said "You know what the problem is with the Irish? You do. Don't you?!" Loudly delivered and for all to hear.
to which I responded quite quickly that I felt that
"The Irish are, as a nation, a community of traumatised people, survivors of a a trauma that lasted many years, and whose resolution lies deep in the memories to heal, a people who have not been allowed to heal the wound.. but hey! are allowed to shop!"
"Nah!" Snorted Mr Istayed. "It's alcohol....."
he pauses.
".....and religion! Two greatest problems the Irish have, m8!"
I laughed. What could I possibly say?
I offered to pay for the keys. "2 keys, £6.50!" - I handed over the money, pocketing the keys. Satisfied with the transaction. I had bought keys here before and they always worked straight up!"
Jokingly I chided my limpet Englishman, and said "Now mate, that's all just plain silly! You're just repeating what you've read in the Daily Mail, the media - that's all propaganda!"
"Surely everyone knows that the authority of government to cause so much suffering is not invested by anyone else than our good selves? Willingly compliant?" I huffed.
"Do YOU trust the authority of the state?" I enquired.
"Of course I do!" he said. " I'm living in it, I am part of it!"
I had a set of keys, yet not THE KEY. Frustration. I braced myself.
"I do not!" I said
and I hurriedly left the kiosk and left behind that unresolved, surreal and somehow callous conversation and returned to the cold November air. I felt welcome in the wind. The day was early yet!

This one's about John Taylor Gattos expose of the hidden agenda of COMPULSORY STATE EDUCATION...
The chorus line is
"All children are intelligent, All children are beautiful, All children are creators this we know!"
Sing it with gusto!
Mark Hellewell shot the video, I did an edit or two and the good folk of Brighton provided the spiritual support! Bless!
Pass this on, if you please, along with the following :
Carnegie and Rockefeller, as late as 1915, were spending more themselves. In this laissez-faire fashion a system of modern schooling was constructed without public participation. The motives for this are undoubtedly mixed, but it will be useful for you to hear a few excerpts from the first mission statement of Rockefeller's General Education Board as they occur in a document called Occasional Letter Number One (1906):
In our dreams...people yield themselves with perfect docility to our molding hands. The present educational conventions [intellectual and character education] fade from our minds, and unhampered by tradition we work our own good will upon a grateful and responsive folk. We shall not try to make these people or any of their children into philosophers or men of learning or men of science. We have not to raise up from among them authors, educators, poets or men of letters. We shall not search for embryo great artists, painters, musicians, nor lawyers, doctors, preachers, politicians, statesmen, of whom we have ample supply. The task we set before ourselves is very simple...we will organize children...and teach them to do in a perfect way the things their fathers and mothers are doing in an imperfect way.
This mission statement will reward multiple rereadings.

Much of the research and writing here is from my good freind tim. I love ya bro!
US Governemnt–backed terror in the region, and support for the SPLA (Sudan People's Liberation Army), the principal perpetrator of atrocities and terror in the Sudanese civil war.
The Economist observed at the time (1996) that the SPLA is little more than an armed gang of "Dinkas killing, looting and raping". SPLA leader John Garang - with whom U.S. Secretary of State Albright met in December 1997 and January 1998 in signification of the U.S.-SPLA alliance – was described by the New York Times as one of Sudan's "pre-eminent war criminals".
Nearly $20 million in surplus U.S. military equipment was sent, in 1996, to Ethiopia, Eritrea and Uganda. All three of these countries supported Sudanese opposition groups [particularly the SPLA] preparing a joint offensive to topple the government of Sudan.(Wielding Aid, The US Targets Sudan, Washington Post, 10 November 1996).
The New York Times also noted, SPLA leader John Garang's explicit strategy was to render south Sudan ungovernable, and in that he succeeded. The South became "ungovernable" [and] "virtually uninhabitable" (New York Times, 3 March 1996). The NYT elsewhere records that the SPLA have behaved like an occupying army, killing, raping and pillaging (New York Times, 6 December 1999).
British Sudan expert Dr. Sean Gabb elaborates: "All three of the regimes most involved in what could be termed American-backed "military adventurism" against Sudan are run by gunmen who seized power through the barrel of a gun, and whose exposure to politics was within intolerant guerrilla movements. Authoritarianism and intolerance has been the hallmark of all three governments, with the resultant serious problems with regard to human rights and civil liberties.
Attempts by western governments and media to explain the anti-Sudanese stance and activities of Eritrea, Ethiopia and Uganda as being in some way related to the fact that Sudan is an Islamic republic, and alleged to be supporting Islamic destabilisation within their countries, are simply not credible, particularly given the fact that these countries have come into similar conflict with neighbouring countries in which religion cannot be said to have been an issue.
All three regimes are essentially minority political regimes, with clear ethnic or tribal agendas. As such they can be seen as doing what minority regimes have always done throughout history in similar circumstances, which is to project themselves externally in an attempt to unify their countries. Within the conditions thus created the governments can cite 'national security' as a catchall to stifle domestic political opposition. Both Eritrea and Ethiopia have significant, and possibly majority, Muslim populations, sections of which may have been seriously alienated by governmental policies. It is then convenient, especially with American encouragement, to blame domestic unease at repressive policies, ethnicity, political authoritarianism and human rights abuses as somehow being the fault of Sudan. Uganda has made similar claims." Gabb, Sean, American Policy in the Horn of Africa, The Sudan Foundation, London, 1998, Politics File No. 21.)
Thus the calls by western citizens for the US/UK UN to 'intervene' are the same as watching someone being beaten, by ones 'friends' (ie: US/UK Governments), nearly to death, and offering bandages and apsirins, whilst making sure to avoid being splattered in the victims blood.
When in fact, they should be calling on the US Govt to stop and withdraw the 'rebels', forcing a cease-fire and arrest Bush, Clinton et al for their part in creating the Sudan situation, plus immediate relief for Sudan by UN/UK/EEC....in terms of resources, money and professional help that is designed to empower the Sudanese to take control over their own destiny.
Far too many people are timid when it comes to looking for info - they rely upon mainstream media, or wild conspiracy theorists, as they still believe the truism they learned in school about a free press.... or hold fast to the nihilist concepts of devils and illuminati demons!
The Corporate World , and rulers in general, have always inserted people into the protest movement, with funding, to direct the protest movement to protest in 'appropriate' ways, so that it LOOKS like protest is allowed.
In the mid 1800s, JP Morgan (the original) set up a fund to fund activist groups, charities, the fore runners of NGOs etc so as to be able to know their plans and disable them or redirect them - Amnesty, Oxfam, Green Peace etc etc all have been compromised - Look at the results of their work : The idea is to make sure the charities have a high publiv profile and are limited to futile work which looks good (as some of it certainly is, though at the ground level tmany of he workers are unaware of this and are trying to do the level best to help)
And people like John Pilger are not heard by the majority who pay taxes and fund this horror........
Politics is the strategy to retain control over others, the many ruled by the few, pure and simple - it has nothing whatsoever to do with administering resources on behalf of the people, never has.
The answer is to redesign the democratic process so that discussions and decisions are made at the grassroots community level, and all those who seek positions as public officials merely facillitate the implementation of those decisions. Or lose their jobs, and fast! Power from the bottom up.
This is absolutley feasible, has been done in many grassroots situations around the world and the evidence is startlingly clear - people are intelligent, compassionate and replete with common sense, and make far better administrators of their own resources than any known government!
1:51 AM - Obama, Kuchinich and the rape of American free speech!
Current mood: awake
Category: News and Politics
In January 2008, the network MSNBC scheduled a live presidential candidate debate for the top 4 democratic candidates. Clinton, Obama, Edwards and Kuchinich.
Kuchinich had qualified by being the 4th most popular candidate, - MSNBC drafted these qualification criteria themselves - ( Kuchinich was and remains the only democratic anti-war, anti military industrial complex, anti-privatisation of utilities, pro welfare state, pro green environment democratic presidential candidate with a consistent record of these policies who also called for impeachment of Bush, Cheny etc)
On January 9th, NBC told Kucinich he had met the criteria for the debate. Then, less than two days later, NBC changed the criteria and declared Kucinich no longer qualified. On Monday, a Nevada judge ordered NBC to include Kucinich, but then NBC appealed the ruling and actively fought to keep him off the stage. On Tuesday night, less than an hour before the debate, the Nevada Supreme Court sided with NBC.
In court filings, NBC painted itself as the victim. Attorneys for the network wrote, "Mr. Kucinich's claim is nothing more than an illegitimate private cause of action designed to impose an equal access requirement that entirely undermines the wide journalistic freedoms enjoyed by news organizations under the First Amendment." Attorneys for General Electric's NBC also argued, "A television station does not have to grant unlimited access to a candidate debate. If anyone's First Amendment rights are being infringed, they are MSNBC's."
In other words MSNBC and the Nevada Supreme court DID NOT DEFEND Kuchinichs right to speak freely,to the Americna electorate who were to view the debate live on TV, thus violating Victor Hugos maxim, ""I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."" and truely deflowered the supposed 'purity' of US Democracy and free speech, by legal coercion! Rape actually!
You often hear people say the troops are fighting to protect peoples right to dissent and are protecting free speech with their lives. This episode shows clearly that this is blatantly untrue.
Remember this every time you hear of someone dieing or being wounded in Iraq.
Amy Goodmans Democracynow.org did a wee mash-up of the debate the next day to include Kuchinich.
Kuchinich is pro environment, anti-war, pro impeach bush, cheney, anti-banks and corporates and globalsiation/privatisation and has been consistent in this approach since his first election at age 23! Streets ahead of Obama!
This shows clearly that Obama was the chosen candidate from the start of 2008, that he was supported by Lockheed Martin (who OWN MSNBC and have profitted hugely from the Iraq war) and is not bringing any change other than the colour of the residents of the White House.
The controlling elites played the 'race card' very well and conned America and in particular the rest of the world into a false hope.
They also know that Obamas con job will not last very long and that they have a limited time window to push their agenda forward.
The only ones who can stop this agenda are YOU AND I. because it is not just the US Governemnt that is doing this, it's the G20 group of countries too, and you are lving in one.
The time for action is now. And if true change is to happen, it will be done by you and I, and millions of people at the street/grassroots level upwards, because WE CAN!
And if you believe you can't then think again. Because YOU CAN! YOU KNOW YOU CAN!
All the main UK papers went ballistic claiming Obama was a real change, knowing all of the above.
Medialens.org have done an excellent piece on this in their latest alert, which includes the emails of those 'journalists' and editors at The Independent, Guardian, Times and Telegraph, who brayed loudly about Obama being the new shining light of democracy and peace.
Medialens promotes a rational and compassionate rebuttal of the mainstream medias lies when and where the occur (an all to frequent happening) and suggests that those who write to media to say that "we know that you know, now, that we know you are lying!" and here's why, do so politely. I agree!
Self reliance built from nature at the grassroots level is the best and only sustainable solution to the issues we are facing regarding our use of the environment.
As the video shows it also underpins a sense of community and shared values, which we in the industrialised world have all but lost, that is at the core healthy and psychologically functional living.
And note the vitality of peoples happiness, and their ability to be empathetic in spite of different languages!
Recently I did a spontaneous spoken word/poetry performance piece, entitled (after the fact) "I KNOW WHO I AM!" which worked through the issue of self awareness and self knowledge.
The basic concept tackled the issues arising from the fact that by imposing external concepts upon a childs mind, and heart and by conditioning through schooling, the child is alienated from his or her true sense of self, and that is the basis for control by others.
The implication is that as a new born baby "I KNEW WHO I WAS"..........as we all do and that somehow, for someone somewhere, that self knowedge is seen as a direct threat . For why else would anyone seek to thwart that self knowledge of a child and replace with self- alientation to be filled with role play and persona?
I worked through from the womb, to a young child, illustrating how I was misunderstood by those who properly ought to have emphatetically understood me, repeating the call "I KNOW WHO I AM!" to no avail. That created both atension, and a need to conform.
I showed how I later ditched the philosophies and religions I had grown up with, and spent years attempting to replace them with others in the search for myself, and how I identified with those externals, all the time shouting "I KNOW WHO I AM!"
I was looking at externals to create a mirror that I might see myself and was merely replacing one set of false ideas with another.
And then spoke about how, one day, after a catastrophic fire, I realised that only ruthless self honesty could bring me home to myself. I talked about how that journey had taken 15 years.
By the end of the piece I had everyone in the room shouting "I know WHO I AM!"
Read this and understand that the workings of the Education Sytem, Corporations, Media and Government are predicated upon the direction of children away from themselves!

William Torrey Harris
..........it's time for you to meet William Torrey Harris, U.S. Commissioner of Education from 1889 to 1906. No one, other than Cubberley, who rose out of the ranks of professional pedagogues ever had as much influence as Harris. Harris both standardized and Germanized our schools. Listen to his voice from The Philosophy of Education, published in1906:
Ninety-nine [students] out of a hundred are automata, careful to walk in prescribed paths, careful to follow the prescribed custom. This is not an accident but the result of substantial education, which, scientifically defined, is the subsumption of the individual. –The Philosphy of Education (1906)
Listen to Harris again, giant of American schooling, leading scholar of German philosophy in the Western hemisphere, editor and publisher of The Journal of Speculative Philosophy which trained a generation of American intellectuals in the ideas of the Prussian thinkers Kant and Hegel, the man who gave America scientifically age-graded classrooms to replace successful mixed-age school practice. Again, from The Philosophy of Education, Harris sets forth his gloomy vision:
The great purpose of school can be realized better in dark, airless, ugly places.... It is to master the physical self, to transcend the beauty of nature. School should develop the power to withdraw from the external world. –The Philosphy of Education (1906)
Nearly a hundred years ago, this schoolman thought self-alienation was the secret to successful industrial society. Surely he was right. When you stand at a machine or sit at a computer you need an ability to withdraw from life, to alienate yourself without a supervisor. How else could that be tolerated unless prepared in advance by simulated Birkenhead drills? School, thought Harris, was sensible preparation for a life of alienation. Can you say he was wrong?
A child who is unaware of this process, will have supressed that true sense of self, and replaced it with a persona that the society and parents will have, in one way or another, indicated to the child what ideal role to adopt, and the child will of course evolve her or his own adaption to that role. That child will all the more easily do the same to his or her own children, and of course, rationalise the whole thing as being for the childs own good!
Yet within, the true self is looking for ways to live, and this creates a series of tensions within the individual.... tensions that can be temporarily assuaged by addiction, hobbies, religion, ideologies, complusive behaviours, achievements and so on.
The only way to resolve this issue is to get to the core true self, and to then live that self. And the only way to do that, is through ruthless self honesty.... no external will replace that quality, no drug, no cosmic vibration, no guru, no yoga , no self-help book will do that work.... and certainly no psychiatrist or psychologist will do that work for another, for they can only do it for themselves, and having done so, can only, at the very best, be an enlightened witness and supportive companion for another who wants help in this area. And this is rarely the case.
For me, the knowledge that I KNEW WHO I WAS as a child led me to the understanding that who I am is a lot about what I honestly feel about the way things are being done around me - I either like them or I do not, they either work for me or they do not, there is no confusion, just a clarity
We know that the heart is a congitive, sentient and intelligent organ, that it contains a brain and is linked to the main head brain by direct neurons, single cells connecting them both. We know the heart will sense and observe aspects of the world around before the eye/brain cognition kicks in. Visist www.heartmath.org to learn more about the heart brain intelligence.
We know that in great literature, and in the popular arts alike that the heart is portrayed as emotional, non-rational and is to a degree sentimentalised. And that directs the cognitive functions away from the heart to the brain, mind which is heavily conditioned as outlined above.
We need our heart intelligence because it is closer to our true self, and that as a bulwark against bullhsit we get the rationalised world of idoilogical economics, wars, pollution dumping and priestly paedophilia!
Is it not time to unveil the greatest taboo in our society? We are conditioned, and have been conditioned to comply with the abuse of our own children and then rationalise it as being for their own good so they can get a job and prosper! And then extreme cases of abuse are held up on the media to allow a scapegoating that lets the State and it's sponsors off scott free!
John Taylor Gatto has written about the way the project to craft "Compulsory State Education" was driven to achieve this. Here is a quote that is chilling in its content, and the context is that of creating a class of people who will do what they are told to do, irrespective of the psychic cost to themselves.
Between 1896 and 1920, a small group of industrialists and financiers, together with their private charitable foundations, subsidized university chairs, university researchers, and school administrators, spent more money on forced schooling than the government itself did.
"In our dreams...people yield themselves with perfect docility to our molding hands. The task we set before ourselves is very simple...we will organize children...and teach them to do in a perfect way the things their fathers and mothers are doing in an imperfect way."
And the things to be done in a pefect way? Working in factories, bureaucracies, corporations and in armies. And to what greater purpose? Why to control the worlds wealth and to craft what these indusrialists called a 'perfectly ordered society'.
We must face the fact that as a culture, the leaders of the industrial World, and others, are have been and still are using our chidren for their own purposes, and in doing so, they denature and warp the children. This is the greatest of taboos, and must be broken.
A. We are all collectively and individually responsible for what goes on in our world.
B. Accepting that responsibility for what it really is does not mean simply pointing the finger, it means doing something about the situation within ones sphere of direct influence.
C. What we buy, what we buy into, what we use and how we use it are all under our own direct sphere of influence.
D. Exteding ones sphere of influence is what organising to work together is about.
E. Accepting our responsibilties does entail holding those who harm others, directly or indirectly, accountable. Including ourselves. That is easier and more likely to happen when we extend our sphere of influence.
F. Accepting responsibility also entails dealing with any indifference we are encumbered with. There are choices to be made, and consequences of those choices have meaning fro others lives.
G. Only a fool would attribute a benign purpose to Power exercised over others.

Obama, War and the value of an MBA
I tend write as if I am correct in my understanding, and I do of course acknowledge that I am at best surmising the most clear picture I can from my own position, and that is bound to be incomplete. I would like to delve a bit deeper into my thinking and bounce it off you.
Death by War is closer to most than climate change.
I wrote about the 'immediate' threats we face, and I used the word 'immediate' because there are far too many people being murdered daily across this planet by the war machine (most of which is funded by ordinary people like you and I, in taxes, consumption of products etc etc which are taxed) - for them the threat is imminent. Our comfort does not make that threat any less imminent!
I am talking here about the generalised war on terror, the war on drugs and many other wars that are ongoing and from which the corporations of the world are deriving benefits.
Dealing with the causes of war is a core part. Those root causes are in my opinion generalised conditioning via state schooling, media and organised religion, the profit/greed and inhumane ideologies of the Corporation.
Resource wars due to 'over population' is a minsomer - they are mostly due to attempts by the neo-liberal ideology of globalisation (whether it is capitalist or otherwise - eg : china) to force indigenous self reliant peasants and similar others off land that is required for exploitation, and to thus create a vast workforce that is cheap and vulnerable. Who will at some time aspire to become comfortable middle class, once a generation of their children is exposed to media conditioning. More growth.
The culture of infinite expansion and economic growth is the direst of problems, yet it is not so much the population growth but the profit delivering consumer product growth that is eating the resources up. There is a surplus of food fit for humans on this earth even today!
It is the non-recyclable nature of our production that is the issue - for example the idea that we can continue to manufacture more cars as long as they are fuel efficient is a red herring. Those cars must be made so that the recycling of them is completely integrated as part of the process. It is the damage caused by the fact of non-recyclable materials that is driving environmental degradation, and the loss of forests etc that is driving climate change, far more than the use of fossil fuels. Old cars must be recycled or reused with efficient fuels until that recycling has been sorted. Obama of course is ignoring this.
It's the economy, stupid! Not!
As for Obama's rise to power, of course the media are saying it is due to the economic turmoil precisely because they want to, they have to denigrate and minimise the huge opposition to the wars and the loss of civil liberties and globalisation and mask it's presence, in particular where it is strongest amongst the youth voters, and the new voters in the black, Hispanic and other communities, as well as those who have felt disenfranchised over the past 20 years and have stopped voting, yet returned as a result of community activism by Nader, and others like him - those voters cast their votes with Obama rather than McCain as a vote of no confidence in Bush et al rather than direct support for Obama.
The economic turbulence was crafted to take the wars off the election agenda -because if the wars had stayed firmly on the agenda two possibilities would have existed that the bankers etc wanted to avoid at all costs - any public discussion of these must always be terminated : the first is the legality of those wars being discussed in detail, the second being the inevitable call for the laws against war to be upheld which would lead to impeachment of not merely the leadership in the white house, but the prosecution of JP Morgan, Halliburton, Blackwater, Lockheed Martin, BAe and so on..... all of whom are legally liable for war crimes in that they have supported these wars and profited from them.
By masking that group of new voters, by taking the war off the agenda, they can still hold onto the middle classes who really like to remain as myopic as possible - pretty much as they did in Nazi Germany - which is the danger of Middle class psychology; they like and are attached viscerally to their comfort and status - it forms part of their ego identity, which as you know is extremely defensive.
The value of an MBA
The middle classes are crucial because they are the line managers of the bureaucratic system - without them the system cannot operate. Without their support the system fails to carry out the orders issued, and worse than that these people can change the system from within if they awaken. That cannot and will not be allowed.
The use of psychology as a control tool is old, is deep and is intense. Of course those who use such tools always back them up with a willingness to kill large numbers of people....
The value of an exam to those who set it, is not in the ability to determine the knowledge of the person sitting the exam, but to determine the extent to which that person has changed their behaviour so that the system can reliably slot that person into the appropriate slot. That is the real value of an MBA.
