Sun 19.03 last night at Boule Noire
Quite a night at Boule Noire yesterday. A bit weird at the beginning though. People sort of standing off each other despite some great records being played by erik. This girl got on stage and stomped about a bit, moving the record about 30 seconds further into the track in one go. Then she started pouring her drink (rum punch by the smell of things) on to the people below. Finally she and her three friends celebrated by dancing in a closed ring, sort of like a human roundabout.
The end was ace. Enjoyed playing a couple of tracks on Bottom Line records - an old school new jersey garage label run by a russian guy in the early nineties, and produced by guys who had clearly been making funk in the 80s. That stuff sounds so good, brilliant production. Its great to see people really appreciate it.
Allonymous was great in the end wish he'd come earlier actually. People love him.
Meddled around on the lights making people think it was the last song, which it did turn out to be. Those lights have to look better though next time. Lights are really important in a club.
I really love Boule Noire, can't wait to be back there.
Sport : I wonder if martina hingis will get back to world number one. I think it would be ace for France if they picked Louis Saha for the world cup.
Right off to bed now.
