By the way, I picked the name "Transitions" for the show because I've traveled and moved a lot in the past and probably will travel even more in the future; from these experiences and transitions if you will, I find myself constantly adapting and changing, polishing and molding myself to be a better character; and as a result I've discovered more about myself and my abilities while developing a sense of comfort and home in transitions. It is this constant change and progression that I want to convey and present in my expression through music, not defined by stringent genres but expressed in an emotional, spiritual, and profound roller coaster progression. So there will be more than just one genre of music on my show. Lots of different genres and different themes all intermingling together, creating this hybrid type of music. Of course there will be the familiar epic builds, uplifting melodies, and emotional moody basslines as well, all in a progressive fashion. If you must label it and give it a name then call it progressive music. In the end, I hope that my music and my presentation of music will move people. Well that is the goal and hopefully you guys will enjoy what I have to offer.

Trance is an Emotion
it's not some trance you've heard in some distant past, it's not some cheesey melodies or europop vocals, it's not even some catchy riffs or hooks, it's music that makes you "feel" ... emotional.

Love of Music
"Love of the music should be the driving force of any producer, performer or DJ. Everything else stems from that core, that love. With that love, sampling can become a tribute; An expansion on ideas long forgotten, reconstruction, collage. Using the same understanding openly and respectfully can turn DJing into a spiritual participation. It can turn a few hours of selection into essential history; Necessary listening through movement."

The Story Behind "Eulogy Of A Traveler: Lost In Transition"
For anyone who travels, one would understand and be no stranger to the recuperative process from traveling.
The memories of one world fades into the next, Leaving behind the nostalgic trailing remnants of the past.
It's the transition period. Feelings tangle As the metaphysical state laments Dwindling into the abyss.
It is this turmoil that is reflected in the CD "Eulogy Of A Traveler: Lost In Transition".

Submissions & Requests for Sonix
GUESTMIXES: I am honoured to receive your guestmix requests, but due to the sheer number of requests, it is very unlikely that I can make an exclusive guestmix for everyone who is asking me for one. If you want a guestmix, please send me an e-mail elaborating on the details of your radio station. I will usually supply you with the latest promo mixes that I release. In certain cases, I will do exclusive guestmixes, but please understand that I cannot do this all the time.
DEMOS: I am honoured to receive your demos, but please keep in mind that due to so many tracks that come my way, it is unfortunately no longer possible for me to reply to every one of them with personal comments and suggestions, doing so would be a full-time job. In your first e-mail, please only send one or two tracks that you are most confident and satisfied with; if I like your work you can be sure that I will get back to you and ask for more. Please note, I will try to listen to everyone's productions, but it is unfeasible to send a personalized reply to everyone.
PROMOS: I am honoured to receive your labels' promos, but there are a lot of new digital labels out there nowadays that release huge batches of tunes that frankly don't do it for me. They are easy to put out because of the nature of digital releases, but it seems quantity is sometimes taking the upper hand over quality. If you have a new label that is just starting out, I appreciate receiving only your best two or three releases so that I can focus on them rather than skipping through dozens of tracks.
You may reach me via the Contact direction on my website as I do not check the MySpace inbox.
Thanks for your understanding, Sonix www.djsonix.com

How to Contact Sonix ...
TO CONTACT SONIX: Please use the guestbook located on Sonix website. You may leave your comments there. If you want to speak to Sonix privately, you may check the Private message box before clicking on send in the guestbook signing section.
I cannot check every MySpace message sent to my MySpace inbox, this includes requests to approve MySpace comments, as there has been way too much spam in MySpace. Most likely, your genuine message may become lost in the pages among pages of spam that I get per day.
To the spammers out there, I sincerely ask you what is the use of running bots to mass email and comment on everyone's MySpace when most people are just gonna ignore your annoying advertisements promoting your products. To me it is a very unefficient and unfriendly way of promoting and doing business, ending up with much more of a nuisance to everyone.
Thanks for your understanding, Sonix www.djsonix.com

VST Trance
"The kind of "trance by numbers" produced in great volume by geeky bedroom producers with Reason or Cubase VST and no real instruments and/or analogue equipment whatsoever. A typical VST Trance record is techically well produced and also manages to avoid anything memorable even though it has all the cliches included. Analog vs. Digital
Some things I have noticed between analog and digital media. A digital medium such as a CDJ or software produces a crispier sound, while an analog medium such as a turntable produces a warmer sound. Personally, I prefer a warmer sound and hence, vinyl. however, there are occasions when particular unreleased tracks can only be found on CDs; then I would have to resort to a CDJ or laptop. As far as usability, CDJ is more cumbersome to use than a turntable. As for creativity and versatility, laptop softwares like Ableton Live is more "useful" than a turntable or a CDJ (this ofcourse excludes turntablism and scratching). Also, software-turntable units such as Serato and Final Scratch are still not as up-to-par as turntables, because when you move the pitch control of a turntable that is connected to Serato or Final Scratch alot, there's a half a second to a second of delay which can be an annoying obstacle when performing live. This delay is even longer than CDJs. The upside of using units like Serato is that there will not be any feedback coming from the needles due to the loudness of the speakers around the needles. The reason for no feedback is because Serato reads data from their specifically made time-coded records, instead of reading analog music. However, if the party you are playing at has loud enough speakers to even create this feedback when you are playing analog records, then the promoter would be able to afford materials/tools for counter-measures and also take the time to stop/reduce the feedback to begin with since it would be a seriously big event. Also, Serato and Final Scratch are softwares, which means there's a much greater chance of them failing and crashing than using conventional analog turntables. I know some would suggest to you to use Linux system or Mac, but there is still a chance that they will crash too. I personally have witnessed Mac crash/froze sometimes, and that is not the risk you want to take when performing live. So, the only good use for Serato and Final Scratch is that you as a travelling DJ would be carrying less "stuff" since you won't be hauling your records. As for playing those unreleased on vinyl tracks, you can use CDJs for them instead of Serato or Final Scratch because of the reasons I've explained above. Lastly, production-oriented DJ-friendly softwares like Ableton Live has the potential to be used very creatively, but because it is unique in that it does not try to emulate conventional analog turntable DJing unlike what CDJs and Serato/Final Scratch are doing, it would be comparing apples and oranges in a way to compare softwares like Ableton Live. Ableton Live brings a new way to DJing in the new millenium. I think it's more geared towards producer-first DJing-second type of artists than those who started DJing first with vinyl. Final verdict: Vinyl/Turntables > CDJs > Serato/Final Scratch

This is Our House
"In the beginning, there was Jack. And Jack had a groove. And from this groove came the groove of all grooves. And while one day viciously throwing down on his box, Jack boldly declared,Let there be House! And House music was born. I am, you see. I am the creator. And this is my House. And in my House there is only House music. But I am not so selfish, because once you've entered my House, it then becomes our House, and our House music. And you see, no one man owns House, because house music is a universal language spoke and understood by all. You see, House is a feeling, that no one can understand really, unless you're deep into the vibe of House. House is an uncontrollable desire to Jack your body. And as I told ya before, this is our house, and our House music. And in every house you understand, there is a keeper. And in this house the keeper is Jack. Now some of you might wonder, who is Jack and what is it that Jack does? Jack is the one who gives you the power to Jack your body. Jack is the one who gives you the power to do the snake. Jack is the one who gives you the key to the wiggly world. Jack is the one who learns you how to walk your body. Jack is the one that can bring nations and nations of all Jackers together under one house. You may be black, you may be white, you may be Jew, or Gentile. It don't make a difference in our house. And this is fresh!!!"

The Psy Generation intro
"Daddy, what's it gonna be like in the year 2000?
Well sweetheart, for your sake, I hope it'll be all peaches and cream, but I'm afraid the end time is near, the cataclysmic apocalypse referred to in the scriptures of every holy book known to mankind. It will be an era fraught with boundless greed and corruption, where global monetary system disintegrate, leaving brother to kill brother for a grain of overcooked rice. The nations of the civilized world will collapse under the oppressive weight of parasitic political conspiracies which remove all hope and optimism from their once faithful citizens. Around the globe, generations of polluters will be punished for their sins, unshielded by the ozone layer, they've successfully depleted, left to baken the searing naked rays of light. Wholesale assassinations serve to destablize every remaining government, leaving the starving and wicked defend for themselves. Bloodthirsty renegade cyborgs created by tax-dodging corporations wreak havoc. Pissed-off androids tired of being slaves to a godless and guttless system, where the rich get richer and the poor get fucked over and out. Unleash total worldwide destruction by means of nuclear holocaust, annihilating the terrified masses. leaving in its torturous wake, nothing but vicious, cannibalistic, mutated, radiated, and horribly disfigured whores of satanic killings begged on revenge. But against whom? There are so few left alive. Starvation reign supreme, forcing unlucky survivors to eat anything and anyone in their path. Massive earthquakes spread the planet's cross with hollow eggshell, causing unending volcanic eruptions. Creatures of the seven seas unable to escape the certain death upon land, boiled in their liquid prison. Disease and circle the earth, plagues and viruses with no known cause or cure, laying waste to whatever draws breath. And humankind, having proven itself to be nothing more than race of wasteless scavengers, fall victim to merciless attack at the hands of interplanetary alien tribes who seek to conquer our char remains. This is extinction level event, the final world front, and there is only one year left."

Downtown Madness
Humans are so incompetent that we cannot function together in large numbers. In downtown for example, people act so dumb and primitive especially when drinking that they need to (through taxes) pay cops (more humans) to regulate and keep them civil under control like babysitting.
Is it in our blood or can we grow out of our nature?
