Dark mirror ov tragedy in Terrorizer Magazine - NO. 168

Feature: Slaughter Of The Seoul

"Fusion food is very popular in Korea, where one country's food is taken and made Korean-style for the Korean palate,
so when asked if fusion music, that is metal combined with traditional Korean music"
"especially with the huge and incredibly loud Korean drums, would work, the answer is slightly vague."
"I have thought about trying new things",
mused Material, "but it's not easy. I think I would play those traditional instruments myself if I can get the right feeling."
" I don't want to play those instruments poorly. If I try new things,
I would rather play Korean music with western instruments, than play Western music with Korean instruments."
Like Moonshine's Giga, Material doesn't seem overly optimistic about the future of Korean metal.
"The number of metal bands- especially extreme metal- are decreasing.
Most Koreans don't like metal a lot, because they have no oppurtunities to be introduced properly to it:
the TV always shows ballads and dancing singers, so they have no idea of the metal scene."
"For example, if our music video was aired on Korean television, we might get arrested for it!"
he laughs.
