Three day weekend 08

Good Day to y'all.

The three day weekend is nigh upon us.

This is about the only kind of marathon that you'll see the Dregs participating in. It should be fun though.

Frost has plenty o' guitar strings, Tim brought out more CD's, Rach will keep us supplied with Ricola, Chad may have a new musical instrument for the weekend and Angelina could use this as a vacation… or another excuse to put things in her nose. Actually if you've noticed she's been a bit lax in this department lately. So please if you see her this weekend, encourage her to do that which she does best, show some luv and give her a prop or object to get black-fest-bogies on. If you see her slacking, feel free call her on it.

The Dregs are ready for another season at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival which begins this Saturday August 16th.
We'll be ready for you.
Chances are that we may have Suze/Shannon for the first day of Fest. Chances also are that she may give birth during one of our shows… no guarantee on any of this as it all depends on whether or not the baby decides to arrive before Saturday.
There will be "goodies" as was mentioned earlier…although these are not edible they will still be pleasing to the palate of any good Droupie.
For those of you new to "The Dregs" you can find us out at Mac's pub… feel free to ask anyone wearing an "R/F" pin or button, I'm sure they'd be happy to guide you to it ... as long as you buy them a drink

Ok, if you're still not satisfied with those directions look for the guard's camp we're kiddy corner to them and I think there are ponies near by too…
Anyhooo, We're thrilled as peaches to see y'all out n' about this season!
Ooooh and Jo (i.e. Angelina… i.e. me) is going to get a bit of a make over this year (hooray for a new bodice!!!)

hugs and kisses via the interwebs (but not in the porno type way, because then we'd have to charge and could get in trouble for soliciting sex acts and since our fan base is made up of all age groups we don't really want to be soliciting sex to or from minors, because,well, that's just not right... or legal in many countries)

Happy August everyone!
Angelina here, I wanted to share some gossip...
There may or may not be some new Dregs goodies for the first weekend of MRF...
The CD is, of course, the main one... the others are a surprise. ;-)
(we're hoping to have a CD release party for TYSMIHA after already selling them at festival... yeah, I know it makes no sense... but really, when have you ever known us to make sense?)

Anyhoo, I don't know about y'all but I can't wait to get my chickens out of hiding. ... oooh that reminds me I need to spruce up some of my maracas! (I know sooo very Irish, right?).
anyhoo hope you are all as excited as we are for this year at Fest. It's gonna be a good one!
One more thing, I was able to upload a few pictures from our tripWIRF. I had some trouble loading the pics from Twig but I am working on it.... if you have missed it check out the Video blog on our website at the-dregs.net ... oooh and you can also log in, come up with your very own user name and share in the joy that comes from being part of this great big Dreggie family!

May your 40 acres soon be fields of clover...
This is Angelina chiming in just to say... we're going to rock you momma like a wagon wheel! That's right baby, the CD is finally coming along to a point where there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Chad has done some wonderful things to make it sound clean(ish). This is going to be a good one.

As far as the pictures go, I have been having some issues with my computer and will try to get some posted ASAP. (which may mean next month).

Rach and I took a trip out to WIRF last weekend and it was great fun! Lots of good acts, fun layout and great shopping! (I finally got Jo a pair of boots).  I'd recommend it if you're looking for something to do...Oh and a goat sneezed on my hand... I had goat boogers!
(the Dregettes are planning on heading out that way for the last Saturday of the WIRF run, FYI).

What else.
Convergence... we're scheduled for 12midnight on the 4th. whooopee!

Twig 2008!

Back from Twig.
A brief summary.
New friends were made!
Lady Katerina sings preety.
Droopies are the best.
Angelina had a suprize birthday cake brought! (thank you girls!)
Skyboat is a sky boat, it's a boat up in the sky...
Swimming Dregs are relaxed Dregs.
due to poopy curtains we ended up staying at the Casino.
there may or may not have been a buffet, movie and penny slots.
Suzy was still pregnant.

Back from Siouxland, off to Twig!
Current mood: hungover

As soon as our vocal chords stop feeling scorched, we'll head back out of town for another weekend of frolics, boozing and general mayhem.

In the meanwhile, here's a recap of our Siouxland 2008 experience.

- Less mud, more filling.

- Scraping the dust off our vocal chords and remembering lyrics can be challenging, but certainly fun.

- There were some awesome stage acts that would make EXCELLENT additions to the Minnesota Renaissance Festival.  The Lost Boys??  Hells yea!  Every Fair needs to appeal to a fangirl base!  Don Alejandro??  We need more spicy pickles in MN!  Check them out:  www.thelostboysonline.com and www.songdragon.com

-  We had a blast hanging out with other stage acts after hours.  Not only did we have the opportunity to perform with some very talented folks at Closing Gate, but also on stage at the Gramercy Party on Saturday night, and we had excellent dinner companions following the event.

Time for some sleep to get ready for the next round of weekend antics up in Twig!
