A very short, dark and almost inaudible video of me and Maria Bamford.
So, I went to see Maria Bamford. There were about 9 acts leading up to her which were all AWESOME. She was sitting at the bar about 4 feet behind me, and I leaned back at one point to say: "You know, I came here to see you, but I really lucked out with this line up." she smiled.
After her set I got a picture and this very bad video saying how I got to see Maria Bamford and she waves and says: "...and we're here every Monday."
Thing is, I've been a fan for 8 years now; watching her on Comedy Central, and the Maria Bamford Show on her website and even calling her damn 800 she had in '02 for her weekly joke and it was as simple as going to Tiger lily in Los Veliz to see her live and talk to her in person.
I LOVE LA!!!
On a side note...bumping into celebrities out and about is pretty easy for me. Though going to see one and building up to meeting them afterward gives you WAY too much time to think of the things you want to say. HOW to say those things when there is a 3 margarita barrier between your brain and your mouth, however, is always an X-factor.
I'm going to see the show next Monday. Anyone care to join me? The line up is always a guaranteed win.
"Wanting people to listen, you can't just tap them on the shoulder anymore. You have to hit them with a sledgehammer, and then you'll notice you've got their strict attention. "

I am sitting on the Stern of the Queen Mary at 3:30 in the morning with and endless supply of booze and great people to share it with at Rocky Horror Con '07. I need to share this moment with you all.
