recent shit and Club AC30 update
Current mood: optimistic

sup.

just a quick one really, as i have a spare half an hour at work. so, club ac30 is going really well at the moment. We have had a run of about 3 or 4 reallt good shows, 2 of them I personally attended (oooh, get me!).

South, were just fucking amazing, I fucking love that band. Did I say how much I fucking love South? Anyway, I was so happy to be able to put them on at one of our shows. The sound man they brought with them was shit though (should've used ours guys!) and they didnt do the encore of Sight Of Me, but I thought the show was fantastic, and the new songs sounded great. I actually finally got the new album yesterday, and I love it already. Go buy it. Anyway, after the show, had a chat with Joel, and told him who I was (he knew me from the south forums of course!) and how I had seen him loads but always been to scared/apprehensive to appraoch him. Ha, he hugged me and told me how awesome I was and we had a good laugh about it. Anyway....

More recently, we put on Mark Gardener (he of Ride fame) for a solo show to showcase his new solo album. Ride are one of my favourite bands of all time, and so to have a hero of mine like Mark play one of our shows was just amazing. Great show, even if I was completely drunk. In A Different Place was just so beautiful, and he closed with Drive Blind. So so so good.

On the same bill as Mark, we had 2 of our own bands playing. New signings Model Morning, who were absolutely brilliant live. It was only the second time they had played together live, but they sounded like they had been playing for years. Check out they're myspace page, they are on my front page friends list. Also on were Televise, who had a new single out recently which has been getting some cool airtime on Radio 1, and have a new album out very soon called Songs To Sing In A & E. It is SKILL. Again, they are on my friends list on my front page. Check them out.

2 weeks till Coachella! Woopee! Found out that Rob Dickinson has been added to the bill, which I am very happy about as Catherine Wheel are up there with Ride in my favourite band of all time list. Plus we got our hotels sorted in Vegas.

Anyway, till next time I can be bothered writing something!

Currently listening to the new South album, but this Myspace feature is fucked.

Buggy crap
Current mood: sleepy

*sigh*

I've been trying to post various messages/comments on this piece of crap for about 2 hours, and all I get are "Sorry, you can't do that coz we're shit and suck at coding" messages. Anyway, hello, hope all that read this are well.

So, I grew my hair to the point where I had developed wings. Would've been fine if they were on both sides, but no, just the left-hand side, which it turns out is inherited from my Dad. So, gave it the old grade 2 all over job. Fells much better now, and combing hair is teh suxxor!!!111!. It's probably been a while since I did one of these things...lets see...so, xmas came and went. Yeah, twas alright. Had my good friend Amy visit over new year, which was a very heavy 10 days. Had to take a week off to recover. I've got loads of photo's lying around I need to try and sort out. Sorry Amy! I'll sort my site out too at some point, maybe update the gallery there. Or just get another one. Or something.

Saw Battles Of Winter and Televise, who were both very excellent. Club AC30 (http://www.clubac30.com)  is coming along nicely, and we have South (http://www.south.uk.net) playing for us next Friday, who are one of my favourite bands, so to get them is fantastic. ALSO, in March, we have Mark Gardener (he of Ride fame) playing tracks from his new album, along with some Ride classics no doubt. And we also have a few releases to look out for soon, including Oppressed By The Line's new mini album (Jon from Sleepless), and a Televise album/single to look forward to. Very exciting times at Club AC30 towers!!!

As for me personally, I am currently on the early shift again, but with an added twist! Yep, thats right, it's 2 hours earlier!! So now I have to get up at 11.30pm, start at 12am, and go home at around half 8am. Fucked up indeed.

So, anyone that reads this, tell me whats happening?

death shift
Current mood: blank

And so it begins...end of October, apart from being Hallowshit, is the time the clocks go back here in the UK...and forward in Australia. Thus, the early shift at work gets 2 hours earlier. So, for this week anyway, I'm getting up at 1am every morning. Interesting. Especially being in a different part of town since the last time I did this shift back in March. Also, I had the luxury of a cab and so felt a bit safer, but now I walk to work. And I'v already seen my fair share of weirdo's.

I need a holiday. It's about this time of year I usually fly off to Minneapolis, but Minneapolis is coming to me early next year, so I have a spare weeks holiday time left...I wonder what to do with it? Damnit, I don't know!

Couple of music events that have happened in the last few weeks have been frickin ace! First, our (Club AC30) night on 21st October was a complete sell-out, and was heaving! Fucking ace show too! First time Sleepless played with they're new drummer (and not an ipod), Sennen were excellent as usual, and it was the first time I had seen or heard Malory. Now let me tell you, if you are anyway at all shoegaze inclined, you HAVE get hold of all 3 of Malory's albums. I bought them on the night, drunkenly admitedly, but I'm glad I did! They are excellent!. And to finish it all off, was the sublime Ulrich Schnauss with his missus, Judith on guitar and vocals. By that time though, I was so fucking drunk, I was more interested in talking shit to any fucker who would listen. Sorry! hehe...

And then I finally got to see The Wrens play London. SUPERB! They are so good live...and it was in a tiny venue too. Frickin hot though. You know that feeling you get when a song you love dearly gets played live, the shiver down the spine, even if you're dripping wet with sweat and so hot you could faint? Well, every song was like that for me. ACEMANS.

And you know what it makes it all ok? You know what? Even though my family are going through health shit (again)?

Dire Straits playing Telegraph Road live. Thats what makes everything just ok. At least for the next 14 minutes.

hows about an update?
Current mood: tired

Well, I thought as I haven't written on this thing for a while, and seeing as I'm stuck at work, its 5.43am, and Japan is closed...what the hell.

Hair Update: It's coming along nicely! Almost had a haircut at the weekend though, but luckily was too hungover to leave the house on Saturday, and by Sunday had forgotten about it. Am beginning to develop wings above the ears which looks a bit odd.

Music Update: Hmmm...mostly listening to anything Matthew Good related. Still. Our Club AC30 shows are picking up quite nicely now though. The Telescopes one, I hear was fantastic. I had to leave just as they started though, as I felt too ill. We have Ulrich Schnauss, Malory, Sleepless and Sennen in 2 weeks time which will be frickin' awesome! We also released Sambassadeur's self-titled debut album here in the UK on monday 3rd October. Very nice album it is too! I would say a cross between Cardigans and Radio Dept.

Hangover Update: We had our company anniversary party on Thursday night, and I'm still feeling the after-effects.

Doctor Update: I get my 2nd blood test results this week some time after Wednesday.

Cinema Update: I saw History Of Violence and Serenity recently. Both excellent films. Especially if you like violent/interesting/spaceships/Firefly.

I can't think of anything else to write right now.

*feels bad*
Current mood: guilty

Last weekend, I was supposed to see my old buddies back in Blackheath but I was so hungover from Friday, and the cricket (Ashes) was so exciting, that I sacked it off. Now I feel really bad about it. I'm a shit friend.

In other matters, we (Club AC30) have Goldrush playing for us this Friday which should be pretty cool. Mark Gardener was due to join them, but he is in and out of the country at the moment and can't make it. But, will be able to do so in November which will be ace.

People move on. You have to, or life gets stagnant. You'll only realise so after you have made a change, but after I moved I just feel better. I have a good few more hours to my day, as I'm only 10mins walk from work. Plus, I'm practically in central London now...just a few bus stops from zone 1! Right, back to work I guess!
