so i went to the local favoritos the other day with arizona blues guru & my fellar....and i inquired on what kinda tube amp would make the sound i like...(a lil less tonage, more ballsage ha-but of course as all fender amps...it will still have that fender tone) for my simplistic riot style chords...and i was directed towards a Fender Hot Rod deluxe....and to my surprise a lil magical fairy waved its wand..and walla.....(well its not mine, but hopefully "it will be mine. oh yes. it will be mine" someday)..im borrowin it for a bit...testin it outs...(i think it belonged to prince, or hendrix, or barney the dinosaur. i dunno ;) )..welll its..awesome..and purple and magical..tried it for 2 seconds and Im sold...has killer overdrive and reverb--speakers are vintage celestion 30 that resignates like a loud mofos (dont i sound hot sayin this boys- DONTCHA WISH YOUR GIRLFRIEND KNEW AMP LINGO LIKE ME. DONTCHA...-actually im quite amatuer in the amp department) & too bad its a lotta talk. not enough walk. well these boots are made for walkin. and thats just what they do. one of these days, but not today. these boots are gonna walk all over you.
now its off to discover pedals! i only have a lil DS-1 distortion..but after looking at boss web site ..looks like they have a few that look interesting...anything distorted/fuzzy/sludgey & pretty sounds cool to meeeeeeees.
also i need to check out my dudes vintage the Univox Super Fuzz pedal he has that sounds like the pedal in the song "i never met a girl like you before"-Edwyn Collins...

a few weeks ago...me work got to close down the motherships and head to tempe to the hall of fame fender inductee ceremony...check out the dude...and al below....for you kiddies who dont know al.....hes the beachboy that sang help me rhonda. and the fellar next to him james burton was elvissssss geetar player along with many acts back in the day...and i must say...james was quite the looker back in the day.

so im super happaaaaaay. i got some killer interviews comin up for an issue 5 of raw indie zine. for those of you who dont know what that is, its just something i sporatically put together thats is usually black and white printed folded into a lil mag with bands, artists, poets, etc....basically anything i think is cool. this time im goin to make it a lil more sophisticated with some color...and it shall include noise rockers comanechi, im your present fashion maker, la arteest joshua petker, indie punk alt experimental label liberal squid records and looooooooots more......ill be putting it all together and hopefully having it ready by the end of august...im still stirring up some interview ideas and such..youll have to wait and see.
this weekend i had the opportunity to attend a work function which was a rock n roll award ceremony for fender...twas pretty neat...my dude met help me rhonda help help me rhonda beach boys geetarist/singer and got his autograph....there was awesome footage of billy bob thornton paying homage to some of the honorees....and a history lesson of fender and its working & artist comrades....later that night we went to watch worms in the wood...at the sets...they have sophisticated licks...and lovely songs such as I-95...which i like..i just wish it climaxed to a lil heavier transition...but it wouldnt work for the song...im just a sucker for gruffy boys and heavy riffs.......joe wanders the stage in white overals singing bout toothbrushes and how much he loves phil collins. (hahaha he doesnt.. i kid.. its an inside joke...he plays that geetar and sings that songs der wellz)while jons gruffy voice croons of rock n roll soul. overal..these fellars are my work peeps...they know their shiz..plus with drinks and a bar with them in the backdrop...you cant go wrong. i recommend to check them out...if your in the mood for a rock n roll chillfest.

grabbed the new elle decor....one of the better ones in a long time....loved loooooooved the pics.sorta that vintage hollywood glam vibe i dig...with prints, chandeliers, teals, silvers,..so hawwwwwwwt.
went to jerome today...and picked up a few things at the house of joy, ate friend zuccini at the mile high hotel...(sooooo good), went to a cottonwood antique store, visited the awesome old catholic church in jerome that had the prettiest statues and decor....that was amazing.....then headed home and picked up a pie in rock springs.

a new mojo is out featuring 20yrs of sub pop....comes with a killer compilation of GREEN RIVER, MUDHONEY, TAD, THE SHINS, A BAND CALLED PISSED JEANS that are noisy and kinda cool. you should check it out...i already picked me up a copy. i rarely buy music mags unless they have cool pics of genres i like. i should probably read more music stuff..so im hip to the game.but i get overwhelmed. OVERWHELMED. BESIDES id rather just sit in my room and strum FARMHOUSE by fish over and over. haha i totally did that today.my own kewler version.oh yeah.

hope everyone had a good 4th. plans didnt go 100percent as planned but i still managed to have a good time. bbqd & cleaned friday (boring i know) but homeboy cooked a mad meal. sat went to flagstaff and hung out with the tiffany...we went and saw a movie...and enjoyed the northern surroundings....nighttime approached and i hope you all went out to see the musical magicalness at the monte v. i know it was magical because ive been there and done that..seen my fav cats rock n rollz harder then you knowz befoe....however..i bummerly missed out this time and ended up being swallowed by our hotel room....and passed out to the food network cake making challenges. wow. blame the 430 "very jerry seinfield folks" meal time of bbq pizza gouging and the late afternoon wanderings and the .. ..DOo-doo- doo-doo-doo-doo-doo doo-doo-a-wee-wum wum a wayyyyyys (TOTALLY KIDDIN! haha) . we were zonked. sunday came and we saw lake mary. and this pole shot was just a pole shot because the damn bait kept a snaggin.

my mother recently handed me a bag of my great grandmas doilys...so i decided to modernize em to keep their beauty...plus make em useful and bring them back to life...so i died the faded white ones teal..these suckers were hand made by fellow blood. pretty crafty great grams.

weekend in san diego.......drove to yuma...went to the apple bees and the local pub.....slept on a futon....awoke to go to san diego...where we arrived to the dana hotel.....what a fine lil hotel....the pool and the hottub overlooked the bay with boats.....the hotel itself looked a lil hawaiian with wooden panels and greenery everywhere with flower trees.....soooo goin to stay there again.....thanks bens work for hookin up the disc. we then skaddatled skedattled? skidattled? over to pacific beach for bbq and burying of ben.....got some sunglasses and drank a pina colada at "HIIIIII WELCOME TO RAISINS" sister....hahaha southpark inside joke. got to see jon gerry skiparoo and his lady friend..and chilled.....later that night we went to a fancy/casual party in the la jolla hills amongst skips medical comrads and mingled with the folk while watching a racoon be all racoon badass peeping its head to see wtf was goin on....as we were leaving there was this western possibly was in the movie TOMBSTONE man (why possibly because i heard the host say HE WAS IN TOMBSTONE but i think she was jokin perhaps makin pun of his western wear) well mr stache tombstone man was chattin...bout the racoon..sayin its prolly on his way to paul mccartneys house..get it rocky racoon.awwwwwwww snap. it made me chuckle a lil....had to be there had to be there.....lets see what next oh ben showed me how to properly dance disco in the back of his merc. the merc was the hero of the trip...for those of you who dont know what a merc is..think waynes world murph mobile mixed with clark griswald station wagon....oh yeah...its awesome..........the night was equipped with bens babble...mikes "ITS DECENT" and jeffs "THATS THE REALITY" quotes.... which btw are good quotes when used correctly by only the finest gentlemen. thats the reality. ha. next day was poolside and hottub.....giant slices....and beach wandering....it was perfect...
