San Francisco Pics and food talk
Current mood: betrayed
I went to San Francisco to Mary Van Note's show Comedy Darling. It was a great time. Here are some pictures if anyone cares.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/latinhouseparty/2261023569/ I really wanted to eat at lot of places. when I was planing this trip. Sadly I got food poinsoning which prevented me from eating at as many places as I wanted. I did go to my friend's favorite burrito place in the mission. There was so much sour cream in it I imagined there must be a cow with very sore utters. They steam the tortillas instead of toast them. This makes them very flexible. So the burrito ends up being a tightly rapped ton of Mexican food. Then I did a show, Mary Van Note's Comedy Darling, in the Tenderlion at a bar called Edinburgh's Castle. As much as everyone warned me about that area it did not seem that bad. This bar was full of normal drunk youths and no crack heads. Maybe living in DC made me a bit immune to that sort of thing. I just don't pay attention to drug addicts, pan handlers and transients. I just kind of keep walking by. The next day I had Indian food for lunch which lead to my colon being squeezed by the four arms of Vishnu for nearly two days. After getting over the food poisoning I walked from Geary and Masonic to Fillmore and Geary. There I caught the bus to the Marina District. Fillmore Street is full of some opulent and specific shops. One shop specialized in expensive olive oil and garlic. Another store sold rare European dress shoes and fashion forward foot wear. The bus broke down so I ended up walking from Broadway. The view coming in to the Marina is breath taking. It really feels like diving into a whole other world coming over that hill. I went to the park. It was crowded with beautiful girls, lovers, drunk young friends and puppies. Apparently this was the first nice day in months and everyone was desperate to get outside. From there I walked to North Beach. I had a salami sandwich, from the The Palermo Deli in little Italy, that was amazing. Actually the mozzarella tomato salad was the best thing. The cheese seemed super fresh. Often mozzarella can seem bland but this had all the subtle flavor that hand made mozzarella can have. Listening to the guys talk behind the counter cracked me up. I got there around 3 and I think some of the guys were fed up since lunch must have been brutal that day. (The park was packed) This lady at the end was ordering food for a party and asking tons of questions. Like the difference between Virgin and Extra Virgin Olive Oil. (Which of course is that Extra Virgin Olive Oil is much tighter.) The kind of stuff a normal person Googles. (or Yahoos I do not indorse any specific search engine. Askjeeves for all I care!) The guy who was helping me was talking to another guy saying things like "What the fuck is up with this bitch. I would just tell her to leave. Shit like this pisses me off I spent 30 minutes trying to explain prosciutto to a Chinaman the other day." Something about the frustration in his voice and the off handed racism tickled me. It could also be that it reminded me of The Labowski. Then I had too much gelato, which is sort of an oxymoron. You can never have too much gelato. If this gelato were in food prison it would take all of ice creams smokes and make it dress like a women. I would never wish that on ice cream. I love ice cream. It was just that tasty. The nights we spent in the mission district. Which is where the the young and hip hang out. So blended in perfectly. The last night I got to eat at a place a local comedian recommended called Farmer Browns. He said it would be a real "San Francisco experience" when I asked him what it was like. It ended up being an up scale soul food restaurant in the Nob/Tenderloin area. It was very classy and mind blowingly good. I had never had collared greens like those. Even when I was living in the south. They must cook them for days in a vat of ham hocks. They were infused with a nice smooth pork taste. The fried chicken was crisp and light. It had an almost tempura light breading. Plus, the service was attentive even though we came in an hour before closing.

Lohan
Lindsay Lohan is claiming that the coke was not hers. Great, not only is she on drugs now she is stealing it from other people.

Astronaut tries to kill person
Here is the thing about this lady astronaut that was maybe trying to kill someone. The reason that I believe she is guilty is because she has dry and damaged hair. I just don't trust people who don't use proper hair care. Is it that hard to condition? Can't you go to cost cutters and get rid of the split ends? Hair care is one of the first things to go as people head down the path of crazy. Also, poodle perms are a sign of kleptomania and bald people are the perfect criminals.

Someone get me some credit card debt STAT!
Current mood: angry
So I have been looking for a new apartment for the last couple of weeks. I found one that was in a good location and had no chalk outlines on the floor. Perfect! So I fill out the form and have them run my credit. 48 hours later I get a call back. "Yeah Edward Salazar?" "Yes." I replied. "We ran your credit. Everything looks good but we want to add another months rent to the deposit." Which would bring the total move in cost to over $2000. That, coincidently, is exactly how much I told them I had in savings when I filled out the application. "Why? My credit is fine." "Well you dont have any credit cards." "Yes I dont owe any money to credit card companies." "Well we like to see a history of people paying their credit cards." " But I paid off my car and paid all my credit cards off." "Do you want to think about it?" "Um yes." I answered. This is fucking infuriating! I am being punished because I have decided not to let myself get strangled by huge credit card debt like many of my friends. The only debt I have is my student loan. I have already paid one of those off.
But nothing on my credit is bad. I have had the same job for two years. Make ok money. I have lived in my current home for over a year and a half. I have never broken a lease or been evicted. Sometimes the world just seems real shittacular.

HA HA HA-lidays
Current mood: content
This year more people wished me a happy 420 then a happy Easter. I am not sure if that is because LA has a lot of pot smokers or a lot of Jewish people.

Current mood: bouncy
I just bought an electric guitar. If only my high school self could see me now! My goal is to be able to play Johnny B. Good and then the guitar solo from Back to the Future. In other news I am leading bidder for an acid washed pair of jeans.
